American Heart

Throwing away my lollipop stick, I glanced back at the broken down tour bus and the few people surrounding it. One of them started straying away as if not knowing what to do. He approached a stray cat and started petting its head.

"Be careful. Some cats here have rabies."

He jumped up at the sound of my voice and turned to face me so I could clearly see him.

"Harry Styles?" I scoffed, "Who would've thought to find a stupid, stuck-up, celebrity, here, of all places?" As I said that his smile faltered.

This was totally unbelievable! Unfair even! I mean, why is he here? I doubt he even knows where here is. He's a rich pop star. He doesn't have a care in the world. He can have anything he wants and he does his job getting money because he actually likes his job and not because his mom is greedy.

Jealous? Damn right I am. He has no business in my town. I don't need anything else being stolen away from me.

"Aww, what's wrong? Not used to being thrown at with negative comments?"

He ignored my words and offered to help me carry my stuff.

"You just don't give up do ya? I don't need your help can't you see that?"

But, again, he just ignored me and got my books.

"Crain right? Ya, I've seen a few pictures of you hung up on walls while on my way to the tour bus with Paul."

I wasn't even going to ask about Paul or the stupid tour bus. I have no need of knowing what happened to it or why he's here. Because I honestly couldn't care less.

"Yeah, Charlotte's the name."

He nodded and after a while he started started talking again nodding his head in the direction of the meds I was carrying, "So... are those yours, or.....?"

"No, not mine," he nodded again knowing he brought up a sensitive subject. It was a comfortable silence now, and just like last time, somewhere along the way, I noticed I was actually leading him to my house. I mightv'e warmed up to him a bit. And, maybe, just maybe, I had a wrong impression of him at the start.
