American Heart

Charlotte's POV

It's been a few days since I've last seen him. I don't even know what I feel towards him; probably just my hormones acting up. Well, atleast that's what I tell myself.

I'm at school now, in the nurse's office. It was 3rd period, right after nutrition, and I needed a bit more time for my break, so I decided to go somewhere I knew no one would find me. I admit, skipping class might not be good, but I'd done it a few other times and it didn't effect my grade too much.

I got up from the patient's bed in the room with a sigh. I had thought after so many times of skipping, I'd get used to it, but my guilt always finds a way to change my mind.

Walking in the hallway, I looked at the few pictures hung on the wall. There was one of a graduate student who had won the judo competition, another of a second grader smiling at the camera, happy because she won the school spelling bee. And then, there was a picture of a girl in a midnight blue dress, hair in a sort-of messy, yet elegant bun, her gray eyes dazzling. Dozens of pictures of her hung on the wall, but she was part of something and someone I'd rather not remember.

"Cherry?" I heard a voice behind me. As I turned around I faced it's owner; Cedric. I wasn't surprised. He had always skipped classes, especially the ones he hated, and his 3rd period happened to be English/Literature. Maybe his habits had rubbed off on me.

I smiled and gave him a small fistbump. It was an awkward silence following after that. Ever since that happened, we didn't know how to act around each other.

Not even half a minute pass, we both heard a loud scream. Not the kind where you're scared, but the kind where your'e so happy and you're fangirling. Please don't let this be what I think it is...

And suddenly I felt someones lips on me. Not the soft ones I had kissed a few days back, no, these lips kissing me now, are now unfamiliar to me.





Harry's POV

After days without seeing her, I decided to to drop by her school because I couldn't take it anymore. She was invading my mind and I refused to give her space any longer. I just had to see her.

The place had no security cameras or locked doors, so I just strolled in the hallways, looking through the windows of the classrooms to see if I could see her there.

A high pitched scream stopped me. Near me, was a small, probably 3rd grader. "Your'e, your'e, Harry Styles," she screeched a bit lower this time.

Well, this is certainly different from Charlotte's first reaction of seeing me.

And there I go thinking of her again....



After I talked a bit to the little girl, who I learned was coming back from the main office, I decided to ask her, "Do you know of a Charlotte Crain?"

She looked up and her eyes an smile grew wider.

"Oh my gosh! Yes, I know her! Everyone does! She's my role model. My brother happens to be in her 3rd period class and I heard she's not there, so she's probably in the nurses office skipping. She does that a bit, she hates english."

I nodded and thanked her, giving her a kiss to the cheek, and continued walking until my eyes fell upon two figures in the middle of the hall. Kissing. And as I got closer, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
