Lost and Found
Chapter 7: Let's Play Truth
"So how old are you ladies?" Liam asked, sitting down on one of the couches, leaving a space in between him and Harry. On the opposite couch sat Louis and Niall, leaving Zayn to take a seat at one of their prep booths. Us girls shared a glance.
"We're 19." Belle replied, shooting all the guys a large grin. I hid my laughter with a cough, but I'm sure they all knew what I was doing. It's just that Lyna and Belle's behavior around these guys is just ridiculous.
"Really? When was your birthday?" Harry asked Belle, patting the space between them. Belle instantly strode over there, plopping down in the middle, launching into a massive conversation with them. I let a sigh heave out of my chest.
Guess it's just me and Lyna. I swung my eyes left to find Lyna sitting down between Louis and Niall, flipping her hair like a giggling school girl. She was even batting her eyelashes for god's sake. At least, Louis didn't seem interested in her antics. Niall on the other hand was watching her every move like a hawk.
Guess not...
I took a seat in a stool, studying my best friends as they flirted and wooed the boys. It was actually quite entertaining. Harry was practically drooling over Belle, though Liam seemed to be able to keep himself in check. Thank god he's dating that Danielle girl. As I observed the other threesome, I watched Niall wink at Lyna, sending her into a fit of giggles. Louis rolled his eyes, but patiently held his tongue. The only one that was missing was...
"Andi, right?"
***
Zayn's POV:
"Andi, right?" I asked as I positioned myself next to the lonesome girl. I don't know why I moved to sit next to her. She just seemed so alone and upset that I kind of felt bad for her.
"Huh?" She blurted, swinging her head my direction, lips pointing downward in a frown. "Oops sorry. Were you talking to me?" I nodded. "Sorry. I space out a lot." She half-laughed, directing her eyes to the floor.
"Nah, it's fine. I do the same thing all the time." I replied, chuckling to relieve some of the awkward tension that floated between us. Andi's eyes flicked back up to mine. Her eyes were dark, darker than most of the ones I've ever seen. The only ones I've seen that shadowy were...
Don't think about it Zayn. Don't.
"So what's up?" She asked, popping the p at the end. I flashed a smile.
"You just looked a little lonely." The laughter that had been dancing in her eyes faded quickly, turning her eyes almost black. She looked over at her happy friends, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Oh, I'm fine. I understand why they've ditched me." She joked, bringing a light-hearted air to the space around us.
"What do you mean?" I allowed myself to inquire. I had to admit, this girl was intriguing. Something about her tugged at the distant corners of my mind, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
"They've been obsessed with your band forever. They're your number one fans." She teased, letting a giant smile burst out on her face. Her happiness light up the room like a candle in the dark.
"That's what everyone says." I shook my head laughingly. It's true though. Every fan thinks they're number one, when in all reality, they aren't. Andi laughed, the sound bubbling out of her chest. Her laughter was contagious, quickly spreading its virus to me.
"But they really are." She explained, letting her attention drift back to the two giggling girls.
"At least, they're acting normal." I stated as I watched the girls interact with my mates. They weren't acting like hot messes. They were attentive and alert, keeping the conversation up, but allowing the guys to speak as well. It was quite a relief from the usual ways of our fans.
"Normal?" Andi scoffed. "This is far from normal."
"How so?" I inquired, actually quite interested in her response. Why? I couldn't answer that question even if I tried.
"Oh, you'll see soon enough." She commented, eyes glued to her friends.
"I'll be waiting."
***
Andi's POV:
"Andi!" Belles voice called, drawing my focus to her.
"What?" I shouted back at her, my eyebrows fully raised.
"Come play Truth with us." She said, gesturing to the circle they had all formed on the ground. I looked at Zayn, who was already up and moving toward the area they had picked. Shrugging my shoulders, I stood as well, moving to take the spot Belle had saved next to her. As soon as I sat down, she bumped my arm with hers, sending me a hopeful smile. She probably hoped I flirted with Zayn. No use in telling her otherwise.
"I'll go first." Louis told us all. "Harry, when did you lose your virginity?" He questioned bluntly. Wow. They started this game off with some pretty high standards. Maybe I can back out now. Just as I was about to speak up, Harry answered.
"Sophomore year in High School." He replied, a cool smile plastered to his lips. He was glaring at Louis though. Hmmm. Maybe he didn't want us to know that.
"Belle, who out of us guys would you not mind having sex with?" Harry asked with a smirk. She smirked right back at him. Now you're in for it Harry.
"You. I need a guy with a lot of experience." Belle teased them all. A chorus of damns came from the guys, just after Belle finished talking. Harry's jaw was wide open at her response. Obviously, he hadn't expected such a straight-forward answer from one such as her. That's Belle Daniels for ya. I met Zayn's eyes, giving him the I-told-you-so look. He just shook his head and laughed.
Belle cleared her throat. "Niall, which girl would you fuck first?" No one could deny that Belle was a cheeky bitch. That's what made her so damn lovable. His cheeks flushed as he uneasily peeked at Lyna, who was of course, completely oblivious.
"Lyna." He said in a small voice. That time Lyna heard. Her wide eyed made that clear, along with the flushed cheeks. But her smile made sure we all knew she didn't mind his response.
"Awwww." I added, earning myself a quick glare from Lyna, which I ignored. Everyone else laughed at my smart-ass comment, but what can I say? I can't make life easy for her! I'm her best friend, for god sake.
"Andi." Niall began. Oh shit, not me. "Are you a virgin?" He inquired, turning all eyes on me. I couldn't speak. My mouth went dry and I couldn't form words with my lips. Why did he have to ask that question. Belle and Lyna both made eye contact with me, sympathy flooding the bond we all have made with each other. They know I can't answer this question. I closed my eyes briefly, ignoring the rest of the world.
"I don't know." I breathed as I opened my lids back up. Everyone's faces filled with confusion, my friends being the only exceptions.
"So you pass?" Niall asked. All of the guys snickered at that.
"Come on, don't pass on such an easy one." Louis heckled from across the circle. A hate-filled glare was sent his way, burning a fiery path invisible to our eyes.
"I don't know, okay?" My voice getting just a tad bit louder. Why won't they just leave it alone. I would tell them if I could. But I can't.
"Andi, just answer it. It's no big deal." Liam continued.
"We won't care. It's just a game." Harry added.
"There's only two options anyway." Niall said, trying to make me feel better. That's when I exploded.
"I DON'T FUCKING KNOW, OKAY! JUST LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!" I screamed. Silence filled the room. I can't believe I just screamed at teenage pop sensations.
Oh my god. I'm an idiot.
No I was upset and they just made it worse.
God, why can't I just remember?
It wouldn't matter if not for this stupid game.
It's the guys' fault.
No it's not.
Yes it is.
No.
Yes.
God, Andi. Stop talking to yourself!
Sorry...
Dear lord, I think I've lost it.
Faintly, I heard everyone calling my name. A hand was rubbing my back, another placed on my shoulder. Before my eyes, I saw my two friends trying to explain to the guys what happened. If only they could understand. I wish that were so. But that would require me to understand myself. And that's probably something I'll never have. I'll never understand what happened to me or what I've done in my life. And so suddenly, the room was too stifling. All the emotions and feelings in the air were suffocating me, as if the oxygen weren't breathable. I hopped to my feet, dashing to the door. I yanked it open, slamming it shut behind me, cutting off the shouts that followed me from within.
And with the door acting as a shield, I let the first tears fall under the protection of separation.
"We're 19." Belle replied, shooting all the guys a large grin. I hid my laughter with a cough, but I'm sure they all knew what I was doing. It's just that Lyna and Belle's behavior around these guys is just ridiculous.
