Lost and Found
Chapter 3: School Day
A brisk wind hit me smack dab in the face. Thank god I wore a jacket today. I shut my car door loudly, heaving my bag onto my shoulders. Another day in school...more known as prison. Whichever you prefer though... Peoples faces blurred together as I made my way inside the building, pretty much ignoring everyone I passed. At last, I reached my locker, entering the combo I've known by heart for years. It was really simple. 11-12-13. Can't get much easier.
"Hey Andi." Voices jingled in my ear. I spun around, hands fisted. I've always been a bit jumpy, especially when people sneak up on me. I don't know why really. Maybe it's something from my childhood that I can't remember.
"Oh hey guys!" I replied excitedly, dropping my hands behind my bag as I shut my locker. I stood staring at 3 people that I knew very well. The one on my right was a kid I've known for as long as I can remember, Luke Hannel. Next to him was Bryce Tompson. She's just the a whole ball of fun. Note the sarcasm. I've never really liked her, no matter what. And next to her with an arm draped across her shoulder was her boyfriend, also known as one of my closet guy friends. Grant Wallis.
Truthfully, I used to have a thing for him, but that faded pretty quickly. He's with Bryce and I can't stand her. So our relationship ends at friendship.
"So I hear your going to a concert tonight?" Luke asked, eyes bright with energy.
I groaned loudly. "Don't remind me."
"I can't believe your sulking when you're going to see ONE DIRECTION!" Luke practically screamed at me. I winced visibly. He may be my gay bestfriend but he's sometimes a little over the top.
"You're so lucky." Bryce added, sincerity shining in her voice. But I really didn't give a shit about what she said or thought. I just don't like her. At all.
"Yeah well, its not a big deal to me." I looked away from Luke's shocked face, Bryces gaping jaw, and Grants blank expression, instead focusing my attention on the clock. "I gotta go guys. I can't be late." With that, I walked away. As soon as I turned the corner, I exhaled the breath I had been holding. That was terrible. Everyone staring at me? Not something I like.
RRIIINNNGG!
Crap.

"Sorry I'm late!" I shouted as I burst into the filled classroom. This was the fourth time I was late today. I've been trying to dodge everyone's questions all day, so I end up on the opposite side of where I'm supposed to be next. It really isn't helpful. The teacher barely acknowledged me, still facing the blank chalkboard. Silently, I took my seat next to Belle. She sent a concerned glance my way. That's when things got weird again.
A boy sat next to me on the couch, his arm warm against mine. I knew inside that it was purely platonic. But my mind was freaking out. I don't even know why.
"Andi? Are you sure you're okay?" The boy asked, a worried crease fitted to his brow. I nodded, tears falling for an unknown reason.
"No, you're not. Come here." The boy who seemed so familiar pulled me to him, pressing my face into his shoulder. His hand rubbed soothingly across my back as I sobbed uncontrollably into his shirt.
"I promise you no one will ever hurt you like this again. I promise."
"Andi? You okay?" A vocie inquired, pulling me out of the memory. I blinked away my dream fog, focusing on Belle, who was watching me intently.
"Y-Yeah. I'm fine." I replied. But I wasn't. I was all shook up, my nerves jittering around like a pinball machine. Belle shot me a ook before returning her eyes to the teacher. I did the same, eyeing the boring, stagnant teacher. We were in Creative Writing, my favorite class. Now all we had to do was wait for ouur assignment.
"Write whatever you want in your journal. You have twenty minutes. Go." The teacher replied in a monotone voice. I dug my memory journal out of my bag, smoothing the pages as I clicked my pen open.
Go.
