Chapter 16
‘Right now make me some dinner.’ Harry playfully says kissing me on the tip of my nose. ‘Are you working tonight?’
I nod and Harry furrows his brow. ‘I’ll take you and pick you up babe.’
I guess Harry’s protective nature has been kicked up a notch with this whole Liam thing going on. I smile up at him and carry on making dinner.
‘I’m ready Harry.’ I call through the flat coming out of the bedroom. I’m about to walk into the living room but I stop when I hear Harry talking to someone. I don’t hear another person’s voice so I guess he is on the phone.
‘I know Lou but she was at Liam’s today for a lot longer then she was saying and he was there as well.’ Harry pauses while Louis replies.
‘I do trust her but I know she still loves him.’
I can’t listen to this conversation any longer so I walk into the living room and pick up my handbag.
Harry stutters a little and smiles at me. ‘Anyway I’ve got to take Samii to work. I’ll talk to you later. Bye.’ Harry presses a button on his phone then slips it into his pocket.
‘Ready to go darling.’ Harry asks.
I smile at him and walk towards the door.
Harry pulls up outside the club and switches the engine off. ‘You know I wish you didn’t work at a night club.’
‘How come?’ I ask as I slip my bag over my shoulder.
‘It’s night work and an attractive lady such as yourself attracts unwanted male attention.’ Harry says as he looks out of my window at the club.
‘Oh Harry you know I don’t take notice of them.’ I open the door and climb out. ‘See you in a few hours baby.’
I shut the door before he says anything and walk into the club. The club is already packed and the music is pounding. I squeeze through the dancing and chatting people until I finally make it to the back room where I can put my bag in my locker.
Grace is already behind the bar when I get there. I want to talk to her about today but I’m swamped immediately with customers demanding drinks. I serve a few customers before an obviously drunk obnoxious man comes to the bar.
‘How can I help?’ I force out a smile even though the strong smell of vodka coming from him makes me want to be sick.
‘You can help me by giving me your number.’ He leans over the bar and I have to take a step back.
‘No thank you I have a…’ I pause. What do I have? Do I still have a husband or a boyfriend? ‘…boyfriend.’
‘He doesn’t have to know baby.’ He grabs my arm over the bar.
I make eye contact with Grace and she nods at me. I watch her walk over to the phone we have behind the bar and she presses a couple of buttons on it. Within seconds the clubs bouncers Aaron and Michael have arrived.
‘Are you harassing our bar staff sir?’ Michael asks while Aaron pulls his hand away from my arm.
‘I’m not causing any trouble lads. Just want this lovely ladies number.’ He pats Michael on the shoulder but he grabs the drunken mans arm.
‘She isn’t interested. Leave.’ Michael is closer to the mans face now.
He pulls his arm free and narrows his eyes at me before walking away.
‘Thank you boys.’ I smile at the bouncers and they return the smile.
‘Anything for you two lovely girls.’ Aaron winks and they both walk away back to the door.
‘Well that was exciting.’ Grace laughs and stands next to me. ‘So how is everything going?’
I groan. ‘I went to see Liam today and we may have slept together.’
Grace shakes her head. ‘I hate repeating myself Samii. You need to decide pretty soon or you will lose both.’
‘Who would you choose?’ I ask out of curiosity.
‘You’re married to Liam but you will always love Harry. The only way I can see this working if you pick one of them and you move away from the other one.’ It hurts to hear it but I know Grace is right. I can’t keep living like this and neither can the boys.
*HARRY’S P.O.V*
Louis, Zayn and Niall have come round for a bit of company while Samii is work. Niall has brought Bella so we are stuck watching In The Night Garden on the TV but it’s a perfect opportunity to talk about everything.
‘So is Samii with you then Harry?’ Zayn asks taking another swig of his beer. When Zayn says Samii Bella turns away from the TV and looks around for her. You can see that Bella adores her.
‘I don’t know mate. I sure hope so.’ I rub my forehead. I look over at Louis and he looks like he needs to say something.
‘Are you alright Louis?’ I ask as I put my beer down onto the table.
‘I don’t know if I should say.’ Louis furrows his brow and everyone in the room is instantly interested. ‘I saw a bird come out of Liam’s flat when I went over to see him just before I come here.’
The room is silent as we all think about the new information Louis has given me. This is good news for me as it has strengthened my case to win Samii back.
‘She might just be a friend Louis.’ Niall says.
‘Well he was giving her a very friendly goodbye at the door.’ Louis laughs. ‘Are we going to tell her?’
All the lads look my way as if it’s my decision. Either way she is going to get hurt but if I leave it and don’t tell her she may get hurt even more. ‘I’m going to tell her when we know for sure that Liam is seeing someone.’
‘Harry.’ I look down and Bella is holding her arms up at me to pick her up. I pick her up and kiss her on the head. I don’t want to upset Samii but I have no choice.
*SAMII’S P.O.V*
After what feels like hours Harry finally pulls up outside of the club. As soon as he stops I jump into the car and out of the cold night air. ‘Finally.’ I shiver as I pull my gloves off.
‘Sorry baby I’ve had the lads over.’ I apologise as I start the journey home.
‘Anything exciting happen?’ I ask.
*HARRY’S P.O.V*
Samii’s question catches me off guard. Yes actually you’re husband is cheating on you but you’re cheating on him.
‘Just the usual chatter and banter babe.’ I lie to her. I have every intention of telling her but not yet. Not until we are sure of what Liam is doing.
‘As long as you haven’t made a mess.’ Samii laughs. ‘Grace has invited us for dinner at hers tomorrow.’
‘Sounds like old times.’ I smile to myself.
I nod and Harry furrows his brow. ‘I’ll take you and pick you up babe.’
