One Summer Stand
Chapter 3
When we got home, I went upstairs to my room and started unpacking my summer bag. I froze when my fingers hit a small stack of photos of Harry and I. I wish that, like him, I could just forget now. But I couldn't. I put the pictures in the back of my binder and packed it with a few pens and pencils in my backpack. School started tomorrow. Oh God. I decided to go to bed early and lied down on plush bed. Before I knew it, it was morning. I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. The sun shone through my bedroom window as I sat up and stretched. I walked into the bathroom and quickly pulled my light blonde hair up. I splashed cold water on my face then picked out my skinny jeans and a red, flowing top to wear. After breakfast I decided to drive to school and get there early. When I got to school, I remembered I would have to make a new best friend, mine moved over the summer, so I decided instead of socializing, I would sit alone at a picnic table. "Hey, I'm sorry for what I did yesterday. I didn't mean to make you cry." I heard a fairly familiar voice say from next to me. It was Harry. "It's fine." I replied bluntly, looking down at my slightly chipped fingertips. "Do we have any classes together?" He asked, obviously trying to make me feel better. He grabbed schedule as I found mine. "Looks like we have first, second, sixth, and last period together." He said cheerfully after comparing our schedules. We walked to first period English as the bell rang. Great. I had a constant reminder of the best summer of my life. And the person I had shared it with didn't even remember it.
