Marina's POV

"Last night your homework was to read and annotate the new chapter. I trust that you all did that, because I'll be collecting that at the end of the class. Now turn to page two hundred forty eight in your textbooks. Who can tell me how DNA repair can help prevent cancer?" Professor Jensen said in his posh accent. Then looked around the room for a volunteer and I raised my hand as high as I possibly could.

"Ms.Poulston?"

"If DNA is damaged and doesn't repair itself it can compromise or endanger the cells causing cancer. So it's important that your DNA isn't frequently damaged or else you won't live a very long life." I explained as clearly as I could.

Professor Jensen looked astonished. "That, my dears, sums this entire chapter up perfectly. Ms.Poulston, I'm very proud of you indeed."

Scarlett, who was across the room from me, mouthed, 'you did it again.' I smiled and nodded enthusiastically.

"Don't think, too, much or else you'll create a problem that wasn't there before." Scarlett teased.

"Ms.Bryne!" Professor Jensen snapped. "Pay attention now and socialize later!"

For a moment Scarlett's face turned the same crimson colour as her hair from embarrassment and I had to suppress a giggle. Yes, I was a very fastidious student.
