Traitor
Being kidnapped by this Ultra and the video of my dad were overwhelming me so I wanted to go home and hang out with my normal friends. I was looking for Josh so he could teleport me home cause I wasn't even sure how to do it properly but David and Sarah found me.
"Becca! Thank you, for saving my Sarah's life" David said smiling.
"Uh yeah don't mention it, can I please go home now? I wanna sleep for like a couple of days" I said rubbing my forehead.
They nodded and David teleported me right in front of my house. We walked up to my door.
"Do you want me to stay and tell your mom a lie for you being away the whole night?" He laughed.
"Trust me. You don't want any of this" I replied laughing.
My mom was probably gonna kill me for not telling her where I was.
"Thank you again for saving all of our lives" He smiled.
"You're welcome" I smiled back.
"The thing is Becca, one day you might be the one who saves all of us" He added before teleporting away.
I just took a deep breath and entered the house. My mom was sitting on the stairs waiting for me.
"Rebecca Emily Conant! Where have you been?! No calls, no texts. I was worried that you were kidnapped or worse dead!" My mom said with tears in her eyes, oh if she even knew she was right.
"Mom I'm so sorry. I just slept at a friend's house. It will never happen again, I promise" I said as I hugged her.
"Don't ever worry me like that again but it's fine. We actually have a visitor" She said with disgust, I think.
What? Who could that be? We walked to the living room and I couldn't believe my eyes. I had goosebumps, I wanted to throw up. He took a sip of his coffee and smiled at me. Then got up.
"Your father has a brother, Robert. This is your uncle." My mom explained and I just looked at her shocked.
What?! No way, no! It was the doctor who literally kidnapped me then tried to kill Sarah.
"What?!" I whispered under my breath.
"Hi Becca. Call me Rob" The son of a bitch said smiling.
Oh I'll call you something.
"It's weird I know but we did meet once. You were in diapers" He said smiling.
I was getting none of it. Nope.
"Uncle Rob and your father had a falling out..." My mom started explaining and he was saying some stuff too but I was just full of anger.
I wanted to kill this guy. I didn't trust him. I didn't want him in my house.
"Mom? Do you think you could give us a minute? Just to get to know him better?" I said without taking my eyes off the douche.
"Sure hun, I'll be in the kitchen" She kissed my cheek and left.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" I said harshly, walking up to him.
Thank god I was tall so I looked him directly in his eyes.
"Reuniting my family-" He shrugged his shoulders.
"You're not my family!" I said loudly but made sure my mom didn't hear it.
Then he showed me a picture of my dad and him, well that's what he said. He told me my dad was the reason why he became an evolutionary biologist; to help my dad.
"Work for me Becca" Oh you did not just say that! "Clearly I underestimated you. If you let me help you understand your skills-" I couldn't take anymore of this crap.
"Wait hold on!" I cut him off. "You hunt people like me. Why would I even wanna help you?" I asked him full of anger.
The word hunt sent shivers down my spine.
"For her. Your mother" He said pointing at the kitchen.
"Are you threatening her?!" He had some balls to come to my house and threaten my mom.
"No you're threatening her if you don't help me contain the spread of your species. Can't you see that I'm offering you a chance to protect the people you love?" He said keeping his voice down.
"Yeah and to be a traitor" I rolled my eyes, I know I just met David, Josh and Sarah but they risked their lives to save me.
I wasn't just gonna turn my back to them for my supposedly uncle.
"To who? Some rebel people you met couple of days ago or to your mother?" He said opening his arms. "Your friends, your boyfriend. Harry is it?" He sat down.
I looked at him confused. How did he know so much?
"Your diaries. Very illuminating" He took a sip of his coffee. "Sooner or later Becca you're gonna have to pick a side." Yeah well I choose to hunt you and Ultra down.
"Your new friends lied to you, told you that your father is alive. Well this is your dad leaving Ultra after he sabotaged my research" He added, handing me his iPad and the car in the video exploded but I didn't wanna believe that the guy was my dad. "You don't want that to happen to you. Work with me Becca. Come be an agent at Ultra" He handed me his card just as my mom came in.
"I'm sorry Rob. I have a business emergency" Saved by my mom.
"It's okay Jennifer. I was about to leave. Hope to see you soon Becca" He said his goodbye to my mom too and left so did my mom.
I was so confused. I just wanted to get away from all of this. I quickly picked up my phone and called Harry to ask him if he could come over. He was here in 5 minutes.
"Hey babe" I gave him a peck.
"Hey. How are you feeling?" He asked me nicely.
"Fine, just have a headache" I said rubbing my forehead.

Shit! He recognized the bruises on my wrists. I quickly pulled my sleeves down, thank god my mom didn't see them. Thank you "uncle" Rob.
"What happened? Who did this?!" Harry got mad, pulling my sleeves up.
"No one. It's nothing Harry" I said looking down.
"Becca..." He said as he lifted my chin up. "Don't lie to me please" He was so caring.
"Harry I'll explain later, right now I just need my boyfriend" I said and leaned in to kiss him.
"Fine" He said between kisses and picked me up.
We were just lying on my bed, enjoying each other's company after some good quality time.
"Becca, we need to talk" David said in my head.
Seriously? Now? No way, I thought to myself.
"I heard that. Please?" He sounded kinda desperate.
"Babe my mom's gonna be home soon so I wanna make dinner for her" I said sitting up.
"You're such an amazing daughter. I'll see you tomorrow then" He gave me a kiss and left.
David told me where to meet him and expected me to teleport there. Thank god I managed and didn't find myself falling off a roof. Then David came.
"Why didn't you tell me that Robert was my uncle? You and Sarah, you both played me from the start" I was hurt, obviously, I trusted them.
"Technically you're related but you're not like him, you're one of us" He said walking closer to me.
"He asked me to come work for him" I said annoyed, at both of them to be honest.
"He's using you" He said in disgust.
"What's the worst that'll happen if we all turn ourselves in, give up our powers and live like human beings?" I said with tears in my eyes, I wanted my old life back.
"You want us to admit we're mistakes? Becca nature doesn't make mistakes. Plus Robert will drive us extinct just for the humans sake" He said getting angry.
"I'm sorry but I still consider myself as one" Yeah newsflash, I am a human.
"Of course you do but to them you're not" He swallowed. "Becca I know you have a family but the ones like us, they are my family. I'm not gonna let anything happen to them and I won't let anything happen to you" He said taking my hand.

"Please Becca. Just come with me" But I pulled my hand back and let out a huge sigh.
"You know, when you first started talking to me even though I thought I was going crazy, I trusted you. Now I have to find out what happened to my father whether he's a hero or not or even dead and there's only one way I can find him without losing everyone else" I said as he nodded in disapproval so I guess he knew where this was going.
"David I know you're gonna think I'm crazy for doing this-" He cut me off.
"Becca you have no idea what you're getting yourself into" He was right, I didn't but it was for my mom and myself.
"David, it's your turn to trust me now" I replied and teleported back to my room.
I ignored David's voice the whole day and called Robert right after school. I needed to do this for my mom and my new friends. Yeah they hurt me but it was for my own sake and I wanted to find my dad for them.
