Chapter 5

Bethany's POV:

I got back just in time, although they were awake. I ran up the stairs to my bedroom, running straight passed the dining hall where Father and William were eating. I was quite tired, it had been a crazy night. Is this what they call love? Because I am pretty sure that is what I feel for this boy. Oh Harry.

As I reached the doors of my bedroom something caught my eye. It was a white rose with a note next to it.

Bethany please join us in the dining hall as quickly as possible. We have something to tell you.

Ugh Prince. I hate him. Or should is say, it.

I walked into my room and put on my dark red long sleeve dress, fixed my hair, then made my way down to the dining hall.

"Well how nice of you to join us." William said and I glared at him.

"Bethany, sit down." Father said politely, what is going on?

"What is it?" I asked not being able to hold it in any longer.

"William and I were talking and we thought, since you like the village so much that we would do something for you." My Father said. What is happening!

"What is it?" I asked.

"We are going to throw a masquerade ball here at the palace. An the best part is," He paused. "All the villagers are invited!" I clapped my hands with joy and ran over to Father and kissed him on his very bald head several times.

"I helped with the idea too!" William said puckering his lips to me.

"Maybe another time." I said walking passed him and patting him on the shoulder. As I was leaving I heard him sigh in disappointment and I couldn't help but laugh.

I had had to tell Harry the news! But how? I ran back into the dining hall.

"Father?" I said

"Yes dear?"

"I couldn't sleep very well last night and I am quite tired. If you wouldn't mind I would like to go back to sleep." I said.

"Of course dear, I will make sure no one bothers you." He said.

I ran up to my bedroom and grabbed my red hood. After I was finished putting it on I checked the hallway to make sure it was clear to leave. Once it was I made my way down to the kitchen where I asked them to cover for me again. The of course said "Yes Princess." And continued working.

I got my horse from the kingdoms stables and started riding across the frozen lake for the second time today. I couldn't wait to see Harry again and tell him the news.

I rode and rode until I finally got to the village. I tied up the horse just like I had done before and started walking around the village.

I stopped at one shop that sells little dolls. I quickly saw one that I liked and reached into my bag for the money. I gave the woman four times the money as I needed to.

"Miss, here you have me to much." The lady reached for my hand but I moved away.

"Keep it. Please." I smiled.

"Thank you miss." I nodded my head and kept walking.

Finally I got to the bakery. Harry had his back turned to me.

"Can I help you miss?" He asked with his back still turned.

I laughed. "Harry!" I said. He immediately turned around and smiled. He came around the counter and stood in front of me.

"Well hello again." He said. "I thought you had to leave?" He asked with a frown appearing on his face.

"I did leave! But I just heard the most amazing news! My father is throwing a masquerade ball for the whole village at the palace!" He frown quickly turn up side down into a smile.

"That's fantastic!" He said and hugged me.

"The thing is I have to go! I told my father I was going back to sleep because I didn't get much sleep last night!" He laughed.

"When is the ball?" He asked.

"Soon, someone will come and announce it." I said.

"Harry I'm sorry but I have to go!" I said and we started walking towards my horse.

"Goodbye Princess. I will see you at the masquerade." He said.

"If you can find me." I said. He kissed me goodbye and I rode away.

Why does it always have to end like this?
