Princess
Chapter 2
Bethany's POV:
For a split second, our eyes connected. The boy was working at the bakery. He looked happy. Happier than I will ever be.
I started making my way over to the bakery when yet another thing caught my eye. It was Prince William and some guards from the palace. They were looking for me.
"Well hello." I hadn't realized I had bumped into the green eyed boy. I looked down so he wouldn't see my face. Sometimes on holidays or my birthday the kingdom would come and give me gifts, I would refuse all of them, I wanted to people to keep their things. I have enough, but of course, Father would make me take them.
"You have to help me." I said sternly. All he did was look confused.
I saw all the people gather around Prince William and the guards.
"With them?" He asked pointing at them. I nodded.
"Right this was Princess." He said leading me to the back of the bakery.
"How do you know who I am?" I asked.
"Your hair. All the lady's in the village don't have red hair, but the Princess has red hair. Also you're hiding from the guards." He said.
"Alright, you're correct I am the Princess. And do you see that man? The only one not wearing a helmet? That's Prince William my father wants me to marry him. And--" He cut me off.
"And you don't want to so you ran away." He said.
"Well yes but also I wanted to come here because my father, he never let's me come here. But that's all I want to do. He thinks that you people are dangerous. But I have a different opinion." I said. "Why are you helping me anyways?" I added.
"Well, when I see you, you are always so nice to everyone. People offer everything they have to you but you decline it. Also you're beautiful."
"Well thank you." I blushed.
"Any time Princess."
"Call me Bethany." I said.
"Alright, any time Princess Bethany." I laughed
"Close enough! Well thank you so much for helping me but I should get back before I get in serious trouble." I started making my way to the front of the bakery.
"Wait!" He yelled.
"Yes?"
"When can I see you again?"
"Well I guess it will just have to be fate." He laughed and I walked away.
"Well if anyone sees the Princess please tell us immediately." I heard William say as I walked towards him.
"William I'm right here." I said and hopped on his horse.
"Princess! Where have you been?"
"Calm down William! I was just looking around!" I said glancing at the boy who's name I still don't have.
"Men! Let's go!" William yelled. I wrapped my arms around his waist as we started riding away. I couldn't help but stare at the green eyed boy as we rode away, and the good thing was, he was watching me too.
The ride back home was slow. I was just thinking on what my fathers lecture was going to be when I got back. Why can't he just accept that I do not want to marry William. Oh well I just have to wait and see what he has to say.
We arrived at the palace and my father was standing right at the door.
"Bethany! You are in so much trouble!" My father yelled.
"I can not believe that you left right after I told you not to! How dare you disobey me! Go up to your bedroom! Your mother would be disappointed." He mumbled the last part but I still heard it. Mother died when I was fourteen. Father just hasn't been the same since.
I walked up to my bedroom and stopping at each window to watch the snow fall.
For or the rest of the night, all I could think about was him, and only him.
