The car ride to Jacks house was filled with laughter, and catching up. He got a promtion to Head Manager on the Xfactor, and a few days later, Jackie was diagnosed with brain cancer. He had to take something like a "workmans comp.". A few months later, Jackie ended up passing away after a well fought battle against her sickness. He seems to be coping with it well, but you can see the sadness in his eyes. I hope I can get him out of his funk for a little while so he isn't so down. When we got to his house, things were re-arranged since the last time I'd visited. He showed me to my room, the bathroom I had to myself while I was here, and left me to get ready. I had to look extra special for my first day on the job. I decided to wear one of my best dresses http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=102713244 , and repaint my nails because I'd been picking at them at the result of nerves. The show aired live at 6:15, and I was finished getting ready at 5:00.
"What do you think of my outfit?" He turned around and looked at me.
"You look so much like your mother, and your step aunt. If only she were here to see how beautiful you look." He barely chocked out the last of the sentence, and i ran over to hug him. We both sobbed about our loss, but I pulled it together. I had to be strong for him. I gave him an understanding smile, and he gave me a warm half smile.
"Its almost 5:30. We should probubly get going". He turned and went into the kitchen, and came back out with his coat.
"Your right. Lets go. I'm sorry about breaking down like that. Its just...this has been kinda hard for me." I felt so bad for him, but I just let him be so I didn't make things worse.The whole car ride their was silent. Jack turned on the radio, and soon we were laughing and singing along to "can't hold us". He seriously was the best uncle ever. When we got there, I heard excited screeches from inside, and my stomach got all weird. We walked in backstage and I saw a bunch of performers in a circle. Then they shouted something and spread apart. Then I saw some really hot XFactor boys.
Harry's POV
We finished our huddle before getting ready for the show, when me and the lads saw the most georgous girl standing at the door with Jack. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I walked over to Jack to talk to him about tonite, but mainly to introduce myself to her.
"Hi Jack! So glad you made it tonite. Whats the plan?" He smiled at me, and flicked his eyes between me and her. I didn't know her name quite yet.
"Harry! This is my niece Alex. She is going to be working with us for a while. Alex, this is Harry Styles. He is one of the contestants on Xfactor. You will be seeing a lot of him." She smiled at me.
"Hi Harry. I'm Alex. Its so nice to meet you." She held out a perfectly polished hand and I shoock it softly. I put on my most charming smile, and she blushed when we stopped shacking hands and I hadn't let go. I must've been staring at her for a few minutes because the lads came over and cleared their throats.
"Hey guys, this is Alex, my niece. She's going to be working with us for a while. Akex, this is Liam, Louis, Niall, and Zayn. Of course, you've already met Harry. Lets get you started on makeup and hair."
Alex's POV
"Umm, Jack I haven't taken any makeup classes yet." They all started laughing. I was just standing there looking confused.
"No, no sweetheart! I mean, taking off makeup and washing it off, and I'd think you know how to wash hair by now.Twenty minutes before one of your patients go on, you will be washing your hair and drying it. I know you know what to use." I blushed at my uncles compliment. I was taking an extra class for cosmetology and hair at Seaside.
"Ok! Where do I start?!?" I was jumping up and down, and the lads were laughing. I giggled, and Louis stopped laughing and smiled shyly at me. I smiled back and shrugged off all the doubts I'd had earlier. I was so excited to get started I ran in my heels, not caring if I fracture my ankle. I started to fall, but a pair of strong arms caught me just as I was about to hit the floor.
"Easy there Alex. You don't want to break a leg on your first day do you?". The voice was familiar. It was Harry. I laughed as he pulled me back up on my feet.
"Harry Styles, are you following me?" I smirked playfully and made one eyebrow go up. He smirked back and responded in his charming brittish voice,
"Me? Follow ayou? Why no, it says here that I am your first patient. And you just happened to fall right in front of me. And I just happened to catch you so you wouldn't fracture your ankle in those heels." He talked out loud and complimented me without knowing.
"Well thankyou for catching me, and don't look too bad in those jeans." He blushed, and looked at his feet.
"I said that outloud didn't I."
"Yup! Now sit down so I can beautify you." I smirked and patted the head of the chair. When I was finished doing his hair, he looked georgous.
