Something You Want to Forget About
No More Hiding
Niall’s POV
I waited, and waited, and waited.
Would she come to my door? Would she call or at least text me? Would she talk to me tomorrow? Have I done enough? A lot more questions popped in my head.
Maybe I should call Zayn or something. Besides, he’s dating Ameina’s sister. Maybe he could give me advice or whatever.
I dialed his number on my phone and put it over my ear. He didn’t answer so I just decided to send him a voicemail.
“Hey, Zayn,” I spoke, “Um… I kinda need your help right now, so call me when you have time, okay?”
I sent it and put my phone down. Please make this end soon.
Anesha’s POV
Zayn’s hand was still on top of mine, the other holding a sandwich. We were having a picnic at the park. I was going to ask Ameina to come but she was asleep when I walked in her room right before Zayn arrived to pick me up.
I don’t understand what’s the deal with my sister. She’s always in her room now. Before she’s always out with her friend and that Niall dude.
But that was a month ago. Maybe I should talk to her about it later. Eh, she’s probably still asleep. She barely goes out of her room now and wakes up later than usual.
Zayn picked up his phone after he heard a bleep sound. He played a voicemail. The voice sounded like it was from Niall. Zayn stood silent for a while.
“I think I might have to go in ten minutes,” Zayn noted, “c’mon, let’s finish our food.”
I nodded and took a bite of my smoke beef sandwich and took a sip of my Ribena blackcurrant juice. After a while of talking Zayn kissed my cheek and left.
I carried the picnic basket back home and put it down the dining table. I noticed a note on top of the tissue box written with a red pen.
Anesha,
I’m out for a walk be back later.
Meina
But when I reached the end of the note, I saw a red dot, bigger than a dot a red pen would make. It was a messy dot like a splatter.
It looked like…
She didn’t do what I think she did, did she?
I ran upstairs and barged in Ameina’s room, even though there was a sign reading “KEEP OUT” stuck to the door. But this is important. I may be the typical type of popular girl who ignores her sister but deep inside I love her to death. She couldn’t seem to see how much I care, but… I never show it anyway.
Her bed sheets were folded neatly. Of course she’s hiding something so I checked every single drawer. Finally, I checked her closet.
I searched every part of it except for the top shelf. I couldn’t seem to reach it, as I am shorter than my sister. So I grabbed her chair and climbed on top of it.
The top shelf was empty, before I caught sight of a small box on the very edge. Crap. I need to reach it, but what if I fall? Whatever, I have to try.
Without thinking, I swung my hand sideways, grabbed the box and fell off the chair, landing on the floor. Ugh, I lost balance. I ignored the pain and quickly sat down on Ameina’s bed, getting ready to open whatever is inside the box.
I slowly pulled the lid off and it revealed a blood-splattered knife.
Oh no…
