Something You Want to Forget About
A Mistake
(A/N: I’m going to be using Ameina’s POV from now on, it may change from Niall to Claire as well.)
I staggered, shocked. My brown eyes widened, staring deeply into Niall’s blue eyes. They were full of worry. I’m starting to think he’s afraid that I don’t like him that way.
I don’t know what to say. He loves me, out of all people? I’m just a big, fat, ugly piece of crap nobody likes. Niall could just be crushing on that dirty blonde girl in math class or something.
But no. He likes me. What the hell am I supposed to respond?
I continued to stare at him. Without thinking, I let go of his hands and ran inside my door. Oh, good. Excellent thinking, Ameina. Now he thinks you hate him.
I locked the door and opened my curtain, peeking at Niall. Luckily he didn’t seem to notice me by the window. I was expecting him to shrug and get into his car, but instead, his expression was sad, and his eyes were watering.
He sighed and got into his car and drove away.
What have I done?
I slammed my locker and carried my books to class. First period – English. Just great. I’d rather have PE or Music to start the day so it can wake me up properly. Plus, Niall is in my class, and I just want to avoid him for a while after what happened last night.
Oh, god, why does he have to love me? I couldn’t even sleep well last night, I kept thinking about Niall. Should I apologize to him? Probably not. I just don’t know what to do.
I got in my seat, which was next to Niall’s. He wasn’t here yet – weird. He’s usually one of the first to come to class. Well, he’d probably make it sooner or later.
Am I supposed to tell Claire that Niall loves me? Am I supposed to tell anyone at all? No. This is going to stay a secret.
The bell rang, and a few seconds later a stampede of students came rushing in. No sight of Niall. He’s late. Either that or he’s not coming to school. Hopefully not because he’s trying to avoid me…
Mrs. Wilson came in and put down her book on her desk. She greeted us, asked how our weekend was, and started to write things on the whiteboard.
Suddenly, Niall came barging in. His hair was a mess and his face was gloomy. I could probably guess what happened to him.
He muttered something to the teacher and sat down beside me. His eyes were focused on the board – he didn’t even look at me.
Is this how it ends?
