Angel had been drawing and painting almost nonstop. Mostly the subjects were her new friends. She was finishing up her drawing of Louis when she felt another presence in the room.

“It’s very good,” Zayn said, popping up out of nowhere. “All of them, actually.”

She jumped when she saw him. “What did I say about knocking?”

“Right, sorry,” he said. “Come and join us. We’re going to watch The Lost Boys.”

Angel couldn’t say no to one of her favorite movies. She followed Zayn out and sat on the chair. Gen and Niall had become very close. They were sitting on the couch together. She couldn’t help but smile at how cute they were. She saw Louis standing against the wall. He was glaring at them, but noticed Angel’s eyes on him and turned to look at her. She scooted over and pat the spot next to her. There was plenty of room. He hesitated but couldn’t resist the offer.


Louis relaxed a little. Angel started to nod off in the middle of the movie. Her head fell onto Louis’ shoulder. He watched her for a moment, then glanced around the room. He put his arm around her shoulders. Harry gave him a warning look but he ignored it.

After a few weeks, Angel was starting to go crazy being kept in the house. The guys had already made arrangements at their jobs so they wouldn’t wonder where they were, so they had absolutely nowhere to go.

It was still day time, and Louis had been gone for four days. When Harry and Niall, her current guardians, weren’t paying attention, she managed to sneak out. She walked a couple blocks and then decided to come back. All she needed was a little fresh air and a walk. It started to rain on the way back and she flipped her coat hood up.

Three blocks from the safe house, she saw two men coming toward her. One was in front of her and one was coming from the side. She started to turn, but as she did she felt a hand wrap around her throat and lift her slightly off the ground.

“Your friends aren’t here to save you now, are they girly?” the man who had her in his grasp said. The other laughed.

“Fuck… you…” she barely breathed out, kicking as much as she could but never reaching anything.

The men’s laughter was cut off and she landed on her back on the ground. When she looked up, she saw Louis slam the man on the ground and beat his fist repeatedly into his face. Before the other man could get away, Liam had him pinned to the ground and crushed his head with his foot. Angel sat where she landed, shock and a bit of fear shown clearly on her face.

Louis stood up and walked over to her. She just stared at him.

“I told you not to leave!” he shouted, his voice louder and harsher than ever.

“You’ve kept me locked up too long! I needed to get out!”

“You are in danger, Angel! You don’t understand how severe this is! Now they know where you are and more will be coming!” He moved closer to her. “It’s my job to keep you safe!”

Angel stood up. “I don’t need you to watch me all the time! I’m not a child!”

“Then quit acting like one! Do you not see what just happened!?” His voice was getting louder. “For fuck’s sake, every one of Nathan’s men is out looking for you! What would happen if I’d let those men take you?! If I hadn’t been there! This is the third time I’ve saved your life, Angel, you might want to fucking listen to me!”

Lightning flashed behind him and thunder rumbled loudly. Angel looked down. He was right.
When he spoke again, his voice was calmer. “Liam, tell the others we’re moving. Immediately.”

Liam was gone and Louis took Angel by the arm. They were in a new unfamiliar place.

“Don’t leave again,” he warned before turning and leaving as Zayn entered the room to keep an eye on her.
