A Dark Past with an Amazing Future

Five

-Lily-

He led me up to the penthouse that they were staying in. Needless to say, it was incredible. I walked in onto white marble floors. The main room was laid out in front of me: white leather couches facing each other with a gold and mirror-covered coffee table in between, embellished with mini palm trees spaced out around the room.

Straight across the room from the entrance were glass doors that opened onto a balcony from which I could see the ocean. This was amazing. I had never been anywhere like this. I looked at Harry. He was smiling at me.

I walked out onto the balcony. I saw the beach and the ocean spread out beneath me. Harry followed me. "It's not always like this." he said, looking out at the sea.

"What do you mean?"

"We usually stay in crap rooms, but we're staying here for a long time, so we wanted a better hotel."

"Well you definitely got a good one." I couldn't take my eyes off the waves breaking on the shore hundreds of feet below. Snapping out of my daze, reality hit me. "How long are you guys here?"

"Three more months." He was facing me now, leaning his lanky body in a leisurely pose against the railing, crossing his arms.

"Wow" was all I could get out. He smiled at me again, the corners of his eyes crinkling. This whole experience was unreal. I felt the magic nature of the past week inflating in my chest. All I wanted to do was laugh, but I constrained myself. So I just beamed back at him.

-Harry-

She was smiling at me so broadly. I could tell it was a giddy smile. The sun hit her face from the side, illuminating her face. The wind sent strands of her hair swirling around her face and out behind her. She was a sight to see. I just wanted to look at her, absorb her appearance for forever, but that would never be the case.

We were interrupted by noises inside the room. It was Niall and Louis. I was happy to see them, but not right at this moment. I tried to tell them with my eyes to go away, but they ignored all signs, walking towards me instead of the opposite direction. I sighed and stood up off the railing, walking towards Lily.

-Niall-

It was the same girl from the radio station. I had forgotten her name, but I remembered that she was very pretty and nice, unlike anyone we had met on any tour.

Harry said, "You remember Lily?" Now I remembered her. I also remember Harry liking her, giving her his number before we left, and then talking with us about her later. He always told us what they talked about and how nice she was. It was nice seeing Harry like this.

-Louis-

We both gave her a hug in greeting. I looked at Niall, trying to put that knowing look into my eyes. We both knew that this was the Lily. The Lily that he hadn't shut up about. I decided to stress that. He would thank me later.

"How could I forget about Lily? You wouldn't let me." I smirked. I heard Niall exhale sharply with a stifled laugh. Harry;s face shined with hate and embarrassment pasted over with a fake smile. Her cheeks were flushed and she was looking down, smiling. She knew what I was doing. Good. This was going well.

"Good." Harry said sharply. End of discussion, I realized.

"Well," I changed the subject, "we were all going to the beach if you wanted to come." Harry looked down at Lily. She looked back up at him and then at me.

"I'd love to, but I didn't bring a suit or anything."

-Niall-

"It's fine. There're a million shops open near the beach." I offered.

"Okay" she smiled. Harry extended his arm to her and she took it. It was sweet seeing Harry with someone that he liked so much. He didn't just want to take her to bed, I could tell.

Louis and I watched them as they walked out the door, laughing together in front of us. We exchanged knowing smiles. Harry finally found someone he cared enough about to carry piggy-back style down the stairs as we made our way across the street to the beach.
