I ran as quickly as I could away from Harry, to my house which was about half a mile away. I didn't look back I just ran and didn't stop until i got to my house. Once safely inside I locked the door putting my dog Chikis on the floor as she ran off to her little bed that was in the kitchen. i stood there thinking. I wasn't really scared, I was more surprised What did he want from me? Who was he? Questions running through my mind, I was confused.
"Whats wrong?" I was cut from my thought as my baby brother Alex who was standing near the door way leading to the living room. I could tell he had barely woken up since he was rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands trying to find focus.
I was still out of breath from the run. But I managed to speak. "Nothing, I just felt like running." I lied smiling while walking toward him away from the door turning on the light. 'Im sorry, I woke you up didn't I?"
He nodded. "I was having a nightmare again about mom and dad. But im glad you woke me up before the nightmare ended." He weakly smiled while seating on the couch.
"No its ok, I'm here. I got you." I put my arms around him, hugging him tight as to take away the pain. He started to cry hiding his face in my shoulder.It made me sad seeing him cry every night for the same reason. I didn't have it in me to cry any more. I had cried a lot when i was younger leaving me emotionless. Plus I couldn't let him see me cry or weak. I had to be strong for him. We sat there for a while humming in his ear, until i noticed he had fallen asleep in my arms again for the 4th time this week. I took him to his room who he shared with my other little brother Leo, who was still sleeping.
Alex isn't really a baby, hes 7 years old, and Leo is 13. They aren't that little but they are my babies. I had promised my mom and dad that I will protect them. I will be their mother, sister, and friend its a promise that my big brother Uriel & I made to them.
I was walking toward my room reaching in my hoodies pockets trying to find my ipod, but only felt my phone. I noticed it wasn't in neither one of my jeans pockets. Shit. It might have fallen while I was running. I was too tired to go out to look for it. It was now 12 in the morning and I had to wake up early to take my brothers to school, then work. I am tired of working, going to school, and having to come home to prepare food for my brothers. Especially working in a crappy fast food restaurant like McDonald's. I love my coworkers we are a big family, but getting paid $8.50 an hour sucks.
I threw my shoes off changing into my baggy shirt and pj's. Jumping straight into my bed instantly falling asleep. Not thinking about what had tonight. I didn't want to think or feel. just wanted to sleep.
