*Harry's Pov*

I paced around the room running my hand through my hair contemplating if I should tell her my secret. I mean she told me her dark secret, but I don't know how to tell her mine. I know she can handle anything and isn't afraid of me, but what if it makes her think differently of me.

"Wow it's that bad that you don't want to tell me?" She asked sounding bored yet worried, while trying to open the bottle she had in her hand.

"It's just that-" I was cut off by the sound of my phone ringing. I took it out of my pocket looking at the caller ID. "I'm sorry I have to take this." I say pointing to the door and pressing the answer button.

"Go for it, I’ll be here drinking." Star said with her full attention on the bottle.

I walk out of the hotel room closing the door behind me bringing the phone to my ear.


"Hey Louis what's up?" I ask over the phone.

"Hey mate, how are you doing?"

"You have no idea, but you just saved me."

"And why is that?" I hear Louis chuckle on the other side of the phone.

"I was talking to Star, the girl Niall wants me to take to him. She told me her secret and I was going to tell her ours." I whisper even though I know Star is more intrigued with her bottle of alcohol than my conversation.

"Whoa Harry you can't tell a stranger our secret. What if she tells the world what we did once we become famous."

"I know, but I feel like I could trust her. And how are the meetings going in New York?" I hadn't thought about it before, but I did trust Star. I wouldn't mind telling her, but it's not just my secret it’s the boy's as well.

"Well that's why I'm calling you Harry, the record label heard our songs and loved it, but they won’t sign us until we are all together. You have to come to New York City with us." Louis sounded happy, forgetting about Star. We finally have a chance to do what we like to do which is sing. All of our hard work will finally be paid off.

"What are you serious? When do they want to meet?" I was excited we are finally going to be together as a band and travel the world.

"By next Saturday if possible. Harry you need to came back and join us."

"Okay I'll try to be there by then, but it’s going to be hard taking Star since she is probably wasted right now and will continue to be since I bought her alcohol." I can't help, but smile whenever I think of her. Especially when she drinks she becomes playful and so giggly. Most people are angry drinkers or annoying flirty drinkers, but not her she’s playful and laughs so much.

"What? No, forget the girl Harry. Leave her where ever you are and come meet with us. Niall doesn't even care about the whole situation anymore." I couldn't believe what he was saying. I wasted so much time with this girl and he wants me to simply let her go? No I couldn't and I won’t. I've grown to like Star because she is different and funny and she has that smile that will brighten up any ones mood. Her smile was contagious.

"No Lu, I'm not leaving her behind. I wasted so much of my time with her and I'm not going to throw it all away. I'm bringing her with me, so be prepared because she is kind of a handful." I wasn't sure what took over me, but I wanted Star to be with me in my life.

Even though she was shy at first and has anger issues and has a dark past she was a fun person to be around. When she wasn't angry she would be laughing. She would make a joke out of everything, she would be serious and say something deep, but turn it all around with a silly joke. She might have a drinking problem and family issues, but she always seemed to smile through it all and laugh her heart out.

"Alright mate, but don't forget about what we had worked so hard for. Bye." Louis said giving in.

"Thanks mate, Bye." I say hanging up the phone. I put the phone away in my pocket and smile to myself I'm excited to finally be able to live out my dream. To sing in front of many and perform with my best friends.


I walk back inside the hotel room and see Star sitting on the floor next to the coffee table continuing to drink. Although she changed out of her dress and was wearing pajamas. I was a little disappointed, I loved the way she looked in that dress. She looks up at me with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey want to join me? Let’s play a game." She said giggling and giving me a wink. I couldn't sustain the laugh I was holding in and joined her at the floor. I had forgotten about everything in the world, it was just me and her playing a game of truth and dare. Later playing a game or cards. Whenever one would lose we had to take a shot of tequila or drink the juice of a lemon. It was as if she had forgotten our previous conversation before the phone call, because she didn't ask me again about my secret.

We played the whole until the sun came out. We were both dead drunk, we were barely able to get up from the floor. Star would stumble her way to bathroom every 10 minutes or 5 to pee, she had such a horrible bladder.



I hadn't noticed when we fell asleep, but I woke up on the couch with Star in my arms. I had a huge pounding on my head do to all the drinking from last night. Her face was buried in my chest and she was shaking. I just noticed how cold it was in the room and hugged Star closer to me trying to feel her warm body. I heard her teeth chattering, so I tried my best to get up from the couch to find a blanket, but she held tighter on to my shirt. I tried once again this time successful. I walked into the bedroom and carried the blankets from the bed toward the couch. I placed them over Star trying to wrap her up like a cocoon. She was a heavy sleeper since she didn't wake up or make a sound beside her teeth chattering.

I went to the bathroom and showered quickly. Last night was a long night; from fighting, to secrets, to laughs and games. I remembered most of the night up until the very end when we started to play a card game. We were so wasted at that point I don't remember the ending, but Star was there so it must have been fun. I got dressed and stepped out of the bathroom to see Star seating up with her hand on her head clearly she was barely waking up.

"Ohh fuck I haven't had this big of a hangover in months." She so dryly said. "Fuck last night was fun though." She smiled getting up from the couch walking toward my direction.

"It was." I agree walking to the kitchen to get a cup of water. "Hey do you want a tea?" I ask Star before she enters the bathroom.

"No I don't like tea, how about coffee?" She asked stopping at the bathroom door frame looking at me.

"We didn't buy coffee remember?" Remembering that the only type of food she bought was junk food and some regular food.

"Oh yea, oh well then." She gives in closing the bathroom door.


Once she gets out the shower and we finish eating we sit on the couch once again. She had cleaned up the mess from last night and we laid on the couch cuddling, watching TV. I wanted to tell her about my past and about going to New York, but I was afraid to ruin this moment and make her mad. I didn't want to fight with her, because I like the nice Star not the angry one. But I decide I need to tell her so we could get on the road soon.

"Star I know you're going to hate for ruining the moment, but I have to tell you something." I tell her looking down at her face.

"Ok what is it?" She looks up at me with a worried expression.

"We have to go to New York City and need to be there before this Saturday." I say hoping she won’t get mad. Before I wouldn't have asked her or told her I would simply just do it, but I feel the need to let her know.

"Oh. I umm.. What?" She looks at me confused and starts to sit up. I sit up as well looking at her confused face.

"We have to go, well I want you to come with me." I admit hoping she won’t flip out and start with the same excuse of her brothers. She lets out a deep sign and looks down at the floor.

"Are asking me to go? Or are demanding me to go?" She asks sounding a little annoyed.

"Well I don't know I guess both?" It sounded more like a question than an answer.

"Harry you already know my problem, but why are you asking me if isn't that the reason you captured me? To take me to your friend Niall. I don’t understand why you all of a sudden are asking me." She says sounding calm.

"I'll let you call your brothers, but please I want you to have a good time with me. I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to. I want you to be happy because you deserve it." I sounded so desperate and pleading, it was a first time I wanted a girl to be with me. Most girls I just hook up then leave, but I wanted Star to be with me by her own will. This girl was changing me every day that I spend with her.

I could tell she was thinking hard about it since she kept quiet with her head in her hands.

"I don't know Harry I- guess I- I- I don't know what I want. I don't know what I want in my life. I have to go to school by January, I have to go back to work soon, and I have to take care of my brothers. I can't go off with you and be happy while my brothers might be struggling at home." Star sounded so divided and confused. She even sounded sad, but I could tell she did want to go with me.

"Call your brothers and ask how they are doing. And don't worry we will be back before January we still have 2 months." I smile trying to cheer her up so she would accept.

"Ughh Harry I can't." She stood up walking to the wall and punching it. "I don't want to choose. I'm supposed to hate you I can't agree to be happy with you. My pride is too big to give in." She kept talking with her head against the wall, her back to me.

I get up and walk behind her turning her around to face me. Her eyes where shiny, tears threatening to spill out. I cupped her face with my hands wiping away the tears that rolled off her eyes. She closed her eyes and placed her hands over my hands. Without thinking I leaned forward and kissing her soft lips. I closed my eyes once she joined in and moved her mouth against mine. It was a soft and loving kiss. Neither of us pulled away until I had to take a breath. She opened her eyes letting tears fall out of her eyes. I wiped them away before they fell any further.

"I'll go with you." Star said smiling.
