Dark Secrets

I walked out of the café after Charlie showed me around, preparing me for the job. I was relieve. I got a job, an actual job. (Whoo!) Charlie told me that I could start in a couple days before I start but until then I have to keep this a secret from Louis. I hope Harry hasn't said a word because if he did, well I'm fucked.

I walked the busy streets of London looking around at people. People looked as if the only thing in life was their job and money, not the fun in life. Just work, work, work, and work! Well maybe the reason I thing this is one, I'm eighteen years old still young, two I don't have a family to care for. Yeah, I have Louis and Harry but they don't need my help since their "different." As I was minding the world around me, I finally came back to meeting face to face with little green eyes.

I couldn't believe it, it was the little girl from my dream, or nightmare that I was supposed to save. She held on to her teddy bear up close to her face. I looked up at the mother and she looked about my age, pretty young to have a child.

"I'm so sorry. I should've watched where I was going, I'm sorry," I put on a nice smile to the women. "I'm Renee."

"It's fine. My name is Jamie and I'm sorry it was my fault. I was in a hurry to take this little one with me to work," Jamie replied in a rush.

Jamie was a gorgeous girl. She had golden blonde hair that shined under the sun, dark chocolate brown eyes. Natural tanned skin and my height. He voice was soft like she was afraid to speak her mind but gave people the idea that she was fine.

I gave Jamie a questioning look with a laugh, "Why can't you take her to a babysitter or something while you work? Wouldn't that be less stressful on you?"

Jamie stuttered, "W-well, you see, I-I really c-can't. I don't have money or else I would."

A light bulb clicked in my head.

Don't you dare do it Renee. Louis would fucking murder you.

But if I don't, she would die. This could help both Jamie and the girl out.

Still Louis-

Louis would have to go through me to get to the girl!

I gave Jamie a confident smile, "What if I take her?"

Jamie looked at me, "What?"

"What if I take care of her, with no charge, while you go to work?" I smiled.

Jamie shook her head with a laugh, "Your kidding right? I just met you and you seem like a nice girl but how can I trust you?"

"You can trust me. I'll pick her up everyday at around 8:00 in the morning till you get off or 6:00 p.m. if that's fine?" I asked.

Jamie thought then nodded her head, "Okay here's my address and my number. She'll see you tomorrow then."

"Why not today? I'll take her to the park and other fun stuff till you get back," I suggested.

Jamie smiled, "That's perfect."

Jamie got on her knees to talk to the little girl then the girl gave the biggest smile on her face as she ran towards me with a hug, "Lets go play!"

I waved Jamie goodbye as I took the little girl to the park.

I looked down at the little girl with a smile, how could her mother in the future turn against the girl by killing her? She was so young and she has a life to live and adventure out but I
admired the girl. "What's your name?"

I looked down at the little girl, "My name is Renee."

The girl giggled, "I like that name."

I chuckled, "What's your name?"

"Darcy Abigail Hill and this is Teddy. Say hi Teddy," Darcy replied as Teddy gave a wave.

I waved back at the teddy bear, "Hello Teddy."

Darcy giggled.

The girl and I made it to the park and the girl ran to the first thing she saw, the swings. Darcy ran to the swings with Teddy on her lap begging me to put her and the bear on the swing. Her long, curly brown hair flowed against the wind, the biggest smile on her face, this child was a precious child and I was going to keep her safe.

The day grew longer as the sun slowly set across the horizon. Dracy fell fast asleep on my lap as I waited for Jamie to text me about Darcy. I looked up at the painted sky and there I found the first star. I know making a wish is a silly kid thing but I thought of it as a dream that someday it would happen. This dream was for someone else. I watched the sky as it grew darker then an airplane flew across as if it was a star passing by. I smiled, "Can we pretend that airplane in the night sky are like shooting stars? Cuz I can really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now."

"You have a pretty voice."

I looked down at the sleepy girl, "Thanks."

"Can you take me home, please?" Darcy begged.

I texted Jamie that I took Darcy to my house to sleep, hoping that nothing happened to
Jamie. I picked up Darcy and her teddy so she could lay against my chest putting her back to sleep. I was glad that the house wasn't too far from the park because even though Darcy is little, she can be heavy for this tired out teen. I walked into the door, up the stairs putting Darcy in my bed with a kiss good night. I walked down the stairs into the kitchen to see Louis and Harry eating some food.

"Hi guys," I said with a yawn.

"Hello," They replied.

I grabbed an apple then left the kitchen without saying another word and just then I got a text from Jamie.

To: Renee
Sorry I worked over and I hope Darcy can stay with you for the night if that's okay?

To: Jamie
She's asleep so yeah that's no problem.

To: Renee
Thanks. Talk to you later, going to bed. Night!

I walked into my room changed in some comfortable clothing then got into bed with Darcy. Darcy slowly snuggled her back into my chest as I wrapped my arms around her body, keeping her safe from anything that would try to hurt her as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
