Dark Secrets
Chapter 15
My body felt weak. My arm ached in pain. If I moved it in the middle of the night, sharp pain shot out making me groan. Fighting the pain away, I got up from the bed, walked out of the room into the kitchen for a glass of water. My life wasn't all great I know that but there are these little flashes of a memory that I don't remeber at all.
The memories I remember where that both of parents never cared about me, never loved me, I was never the perfect child they wanted, they didn't want me I was never called their own. Those were the memories I remember but these memories were different.
I had a perfect childhood, we had money because of good business, the parents were happy, not yelling at each other, they even went to church. They had a son and a new born girl. This was a perfect life but sadly there was an end to it. The boy just disappears, we lost everything we had but the only thing I clearly remember was that the boy told me before he left was that we would be together once again. To me, I thought it was my head playing tricks.
I put the glass back in the sink and walked back to my room but something caught my eye off in the distance. I turned my head towards the object behind the door and there was a beautiful grand piano. I made sure that no one was around as I shut the door leaving me with this beauty. I looked at the piano, it looked as if no one has touched it in years.
It was in a dark small room with on large window so the moon light shined over it. I was captured by this wonder as I sat down on the bench in front of the piano. How could anyone own this treasure but never use it but to keep it hidden. I closed my eyes then suddenly a piece came into my head. My hands moved gracefully over the keys as that melody filled the room. I never knew I could play this but it felt as if I have done it before. Peace, I was in peace of my own mind. I was in my little world, no one could hurt me, just me and this piano.
As I opened my eyes, I was back in that dream of the little boy I saw earlier tonight. The boy was around the age of maybe 9 or 10, had brown hair. He sat on the bench as he played the same piece I was playing, on a nice summer day. Then a little girl, maybe the same age as the boy, went up to him with the biggest smile anyone could have. Her smile made the day seem brighter. She wore a white dress that went up to her knee and a flower crown on her head. The boy stopped playing and chased the little girl out of the house and out into the yard. They were so happy. For them, it seemed as if nothing could go wrong, the best happily ever after ending that anyone could dream. The children slowly vanish and I land back in the real world of no happy endings.
As I finished the last couple measures, I looked and faced the door and someone was leaning their back against the wall.
"Holy Jesus!" I yelled.
"That was a wonderful piece, when did you learn how to play like that?"
Harry walked over to the piano and crossed his arms.
"I-I don't really know. It was as if something else took over my body and played it." I said in amazement.
"Renee, why did you do it?"
I looked up at Harry, "There's a lot of reasons why, but I knew that you would agree with Louis about it and lecture me about this behavior, but no one understands."
Harry walked over to the bench and sat down with a smirk, "Try me."
I rolled my eyes, "You know that my life wasn't great growing up and that no one ever cared about me or even noticed that I wore a mask at school, not even my friends, but I got use to it, you know? I just wanted to escape from that place, so I did, but then you found me. After you brought me here everything has changed for me. I get this curse, or whatever it is, and have Louis treat me as a child. I'm eighteen years old, I can make choices on my own but nope I can't."
"Louis is only trying to protect you as a brother. He just doesn't want to see you get hurt, but I know what you mean," Harry said. Harry rubbed my shoulder, "I know that he can be harsh, but he will let you go out, you just have to wait for that day. Louis told me about you guys' arguement, I agree with him-"
"I knew it!"
"And I also argee with you. You are old enough to get a job, to help us out, but look at this through his eyes. There is a reason, but you have to trust me."
"I can't trust anybody now. I did once and that will never happen again," I said in a soft voice.
"They broke me and I can't be fixed."
"Yes, you can be fixed."
"No, I can't! You never went through the hell I went through! You had it rough, I know, but at least you have a memory of your life! I don't have one, I have thoughts of what my life was all about, but now when I close my eyes I see a different life, it's as if I'm in someone else's memory. I lost everything, my family, my home, Niall, Will, and Louis. Maybe you too! Everything I try to do ends up crashing down," I was pissed off. Everything I do basically disappears out of my life and I'm suppose to move on? "Try being me, Harold, you don't kill people in your sleep!"
Harry got up from the piano, walked over to the door, just before he left the room he replied in a soft voice, "You have no idea."
*Earlier this day*
I took a shower, did my hair, put on some some-what nice looking clothing on and I was ready to go. I was determined to get myself a job today, since Louis and Harry are both out of town, and this was the best way to leave. I grabbed my jacket as I headed out the door for my adventure of finding a close by job.
Maybe I should have asked for some directions of where I could find a job here in London since I never been here before.
"Well for one thing you could of asked and second your going the wrong way."
I smirked. Will walked right next to me with a smile on his face.
"Thanks for the help."
Will put his arm around my small shoulders. "So your on your way to find a job, eh?"
I chuckled leaning into his side, "We're not canadian Will. We're british, we talk properly not 'Eh'. Yes I'm looking for a job, Yes I know Louis is going to have my head if he found out-"
"Which he won't."
"And I think I found the place to work."
I looked up at this little cafe shop, Dark Temptation, proudly placing my hands on my hips. This cafe looked as if no one came here because it was old. "Are you sure this is the place?"
Will asked strathing his head. "Yup." I replied popping the 'p'.
We walked in to the place and to my amazement, the place wasn't packed but it had customers of all ages. My jaw fell to the ground, Will shut my mouth with his cold hands bringing me back to my thoughts. I looked around the place then noticed a slightly younger girl waving her hand in the air to come over to the counter. I walked slowly to the girl,
"H-hello."
"Um don't start that hello bullshit around here, m'kay. You come in, get something, then you either sit down or leave. I don't want you to just stand there and fucking stare at people, do you understand me?" I walk into the place, look around or 'stare' then get bitched at? I was about to say something fast but Will held my hand interwinding our fingers calming myself down. "Yes." She walked away from me then I smirked a laugh, "Bitch."
Will tapped my leg with our hands letting out a small laugh, "I'm so glad that you got all the blame!"
I hit him in the arm making sure no one saw, "Jerk!"
"You two are such a cute couple." A small voice said.
I turn to see a little boy looking at the ground with a shy face. I get down to his level; the boy had deep blue eyes that anyone could see the innocence he had, and long, dark brown hair with little wave. He had his hands in the pockets of his jeans wearing a red and white stripped shirt with red vans. I had the boy look up to see me, "You can see him?"
The little boy nodded his head, "He's lucky to have you."
I smile with a laugh, "Why is that?"
"Because your very, very, veryp pretty and really nice."
"How old are you little guy?"
"8 going to be 9 in four months."
I stand back up next to Will holding my hip towards his side. "You keep her okay, don't let her go." The little boy then walked out of the café without saying another word.
After the boy walked out, Will whispered in my ear, "I'll keep you until right guy comes along, because I can't have you."
I looked at Will as he kept a straight face as a younger girl with purple hair and blue hair comes up, "Can I help you?"
How did they not notice the.little girl?
