A New Beginning
Chapter 9
"Welcome to Sarah 101," I began while leaning towards him. "Sarah is a huge fan. So don't bother introducing yourself. Trust me she knows." Louis groans at the nation that she's a fan.
"Don't worry," I reassured him. "She can control herself, besides her eyes are set on one of your mates."
"Really?! Who?!" Louis asked eagerly. I placed my chin on my fist, pretending to think.
"Well, they're actually a pretty good match. You guess after today and I'll tell you." I said. "One last thing though, me and her are very much alike. So if we get kicked out, don't be surprised."
Louis laughed. "I'll keep that in mind," he said. We kissed lightly before getting out of the car and walking into the small diner. When we stepped in Louis ducked his head when he noticed a few teenage girls siting in a corner booth. I patted his back.
"This isn't a very popular state for fangirls but put your sunglasses on. They look like they might be," I whispered. He nodded and did as I said. He still kept his head bowed slightly as I lead him to where I saw Sarah sitting. I grabbed Louis's hand and began to lead him to the table. I let go and ran when she stood up and began running as well. We hugged each other tightly giggling and screaming. We pulled apart, looking at each other smiling wildly.
"It has been way too long Lidaboo!" she exclaimed.
"I sure has Sarahbabes," I agreed. I turned, drawing my arm out towards Louis. "As you know this is my boyfriend, Louis Tomlinson."
"So I've heard," she said slyly. I shot her a warning look. I knew she wouldn't try but I've had a close call already today. He held out his hand for her to shake but being Sarah she pulled him into a hug. Louis looked shocked and I laughed, I guess I forgot to mention that she, like me, is a hugger. We both think that handshakes are too formal.
"Well you too have met," I said as they broke apart. "Louis this is my childhood friend Sarah. She helped me through a lot of drama, and I helped her through a lot of hers."
"Yeah, but this isn't my kind of drama if that's what you want," she said jokingly. "I don't want to get too involved unless I have too. Those paparazzi are CRAZY!!" She shouted the last word drawing more attention.
We all laughed and grabbed a seat. Dinner was really nice and we all talked calmly until she kicked my leg, hard.
"Ow are you crazy?" I hissed as I rubbed my shin.
"Yeah, but that's not the point. Look behind you. Is that, no," she stumbled over her words as I slowly turned around, glancing over the seat. Then turning quickly back around. Louis tried to look at who it is but grabbed his shoulder and yanked him back shacking my head frantically. Trying to discreet I pulled a mirror from my purse on angled it so that I could catch a look at her. Yep that was her. And she had seen us. Fuck, fuck, fuck!!!! What am I going to do!! She walked over, switching as hard as ever.
"Hey girls," her voice is sickly sweet and obviously she's looking for more troubles. Reminds me of school, she hasn't changed. Me and Sarah rolled our eyes simultaneously.
"Hey Roz," I mumbled hoping she would get the hint. I think she did but she didn't take it. She flashed her fake smile at each of us but her eyes settled on Louis. Bitch. Please. I took a deep breath, trying to push down my gut instinct to slap her into the table behind us. I'd probably get fake tan all over myself.
"Oh babe," she started leaning towards Louis. "You don't have to hide behind those glasses." I closed my eyes and had to imagine my her falling to the ground with a handprint on her cheek. That would have to be enough, I reminded myself. Louis noticed the tension, and reassuringly set his hand on my knee and gave it slight squeeze. I opened my eyes to find him looking at me, a smiled at him, silently praying Roz didn't see anything. My luck was not holding up today.
"Oh, so the rumors are true."
"Paparazzi don't always have to lie," I retorted.
"Is that why he was with that blonde bimbo?" she asked. She really does want to start something doesn't she.
"You know what I've always heard?" I began. "If you don't know what you're talking about, than close your damn mouth bitch!"
"And you know what I've heard? That blondes are the best to cheat with."
"Shouldn't you be on your way to die your hair than," Sarah spoke up. Louis began to look uncomfortable, his eyes looking between us like like a tennis match. Roz drew in a breath.
"Hey Lida," she began. I could tell by the tone of her voice it would be bad. I braced myself but would never have expected her to hit at my family. "I heard your sister's a blonde now, Ashlynn, so her hairstyle finally fits her personality?"
I looked away, holding my breath and trying to hold in my anger. "Well your mom's hair is grey so who knows about her."
"That's it bitch!" I screamed and jumped over my boyfriend and the table and tackled an unexpecting Roz. I straddled her with my knees into her ribs and yanking her hair onto the ground. She screamed and grabbed at my hands.
"I don't care what you say about me, but I fucking dare you to bring my family into this again," I warned. Instead of responding she released my hands and slapped me across the face I fell back, surprised. She wasn't this strong in high school (yeah we had a bunch of fights like this). She pushed me onto my back and slapped me more. I pushed her off and punched her in the jaw. Louis stepped in-between us and pulled me back while a bystander pulled Roz back. We stood there glaring at each other and screaming profanities. Louis pulled me out with the help of Sarah. When we exited the diner I sank to the ground outside with my back leaning on the building.
"Babe are you okay?" Louis asked, kneeling down next to me. I laughed softly.
"I'm used to little spats like that," I responded. "I guess I just get a little defensive."
"A little spat?" He laughed. "There was blood. I hate to see what a fight is." I sighed.
"Sarah do you remember high school?"
"High school," Sarah sighed. "Yup. Fights are nothing like that."
We laughed and Louis looked at us like we were crazy. I decided that I should explain.
"Me and Sarah were really good friends and Roz. Well you met Roz. We get used into fights. We never started anything but we weren't ones to ignore anything either." We all talked and agreed that Sarah was going to follow us to my house and we were going to catch up some more while Louis can get to know my family and vise versa. We all got in our cars and Sarah followed us to my house. I cleaned off the blood from my lip as I drove us back, I then grabbed some makeup and covered up the already forming bruises. My mom never approved of the fights I would get into so I hid them the best I could.
"Don't worry," I reassured him. "She can control herself, besides her eyes are set on one of your mates."
