Harry’s P.O.V

After Maddie left I went and sat in Brooklyn’s room. I don’t want to lose my family but now I have because I was an idiot. If I hadn’t have slept with Emma again, Maddie would have come back. I’ve lost my wife and daughter all because I made a mistake… My phone started to ring and I desperately hoped it would be Maddie but it was Simon.

(Harry/Simon)

Hello?
Has Maddie changed her number? I can’t get through to her.
Probably, she said she was going to.
Well what’s her new number?
I don’t know but when you find out let my solicitor know. He needs it.
You’re not getting a divorce are you? Do you know how bad that will be for both of you? Both of you will lose f-
I don’t care. Not yet but it’s going to happen. I’m getting custody of Brooklyn.
Oh right, well yeah, I’ll let him know but don’t do anything that could affect the band. Bye Harry.
Bye.

I hung up. I hate that I have to fight my wife for my daughter but I do have to. She’s taken her and I can’t live without my little girl. She’s my everything.

Maddie’s P.O.V

I woke up and my phone was ringing, Simon, how did he get my number? I questioned myself and answered it anyway.

Hello?
Maddie, is that you?
Yeah it’s me, what’s the matter?
I wanted to tell you that Harry is planning on getting custody of Brooklyn and you might want to be
prepared. You can have time off until you feel you can come back.
Oh okay, thanks for telling me, bye

He hung up. I got myself and Brooklyn dressed and there was a knock at the door. “Madeline
Styles?” The man asked once I opened it. “Anderson actually, how can I help you?” I replied. “I’m Mr Styles’ solicitor. I’ve come to inform you that you need to be in court at 10am tomorrow.” “What for?” I questioned. “The custody battle over your daughter.” He told me. “Okay, see you at 10 tomorrow.” “Don’t be late.” “I won’t, bye.” I shut the door. I can’t believe Harry is actually doing this. I looked around for my laptop and couldn’t find it. I left it at Harry’s. I grabbed Brooklyn and my car keys and went downstairs. I put Brooke into the BMW and drove off. I pulled up outside Harry’ house and went inside with Brooklyn. He was sitting in the living room. “You’re back?” He stood up. “No way. I’m getting my laptop, I left it here. You realise you’re going to lose the custody battle.” I said looking for my laptop. “If you just let me see her every now and then we wouldn’t have to do this!” He said. “I’m not letting you. Why should I let you see her? You’re a pathetic excuse for a Dad. I don’t care if I have to fight you for her but I’m keeping my daughter. I think the fact that she’s perfectly fine after being raised by me her whole life will rule in my favour.” “You have two jobs and go to University! You can’t look after a baby!” “I can and I will.” I replied. I found my laptop and put it in my handbag. “You have 5 minutes to say goodbye to her. I’ll be upstairs getting the rest of my stuff.” I handed Brooklyn to Harry and went upstairs and got the rest of my stuff. I went back downstairs with all my stuff. “Time’s up, say goodbye to Daddy, Brooklyn.” I said. She waved and he handed her to me. “See you tomorrow. Oh and here’s your key.” I gave him the house keys and walked out and got into the car. I drove home and Brooklyn was crying all the way. I hate doing this to her, she belongs with both of us. I got home and spent the rest of the day with Brooke unpacking.

Court Battle

I took Brooklyn to Danielle’s before going to court. I don’t want Brooklyn there. I got to court and had to go through security until I got to where I was meant to be. My solicitor, Sarah was waiting for me. “Okay, you tell the truth, why you want Brooklyn, why you would be a better parent for her, then let Harry say his piece and then the judge decides okay?” She briefed me. “That’s fine as long as at the end of the day I get to see my daughter.” I said walking into the court. Harry was already in there. “Ah, Ms Styles. Take a seat.” The judge said. “Anderson,” I corrected her. “You are still legally Styles so that’s what we will call you.” She told me. I sighed and sat down in my seat on the opposite side of the court to Harry. “Okay, let the battle for custody of Brooklyn Faye Styles begin.” The judge said. “Madeline, why do you believe you would be the best parent for Brooklyn?” “I believe I would be the best parent for Brooklyn because I have practically raised her on my own for 10 months.” I said. “Harry?” “I believe I would be the best parent because Maddie has 2 jobs and attends University, she doesn’t have time to look after Brooklyn.” “Is this true?” The judge turned to me. “Yes I do have two jobs and go to University but I have time for Brooklyn. I’ve managed to look after her when Harry was away and can continue to now.” We continued to give reasons for about an hour and then the judge left to decide the ruling. We waited for about 20 minutes and she came back in. “We have spoken to a mutual friend of both of you to help decide which parent custody of Brooklyn should go to, and our decision is, the custody of Brooklyn Faye Styles, goes to Harry.” The judge said. I felt as if my heart had dropped into my stomach. “You can’t do that!” I shouted. “I think you’ll find that I can. Harry has full custody of Brooklyn Faye from now on until you sort out your differences or forever.” “Surely there’s a compromise?” “Well, the friend we spoke to suggested joint custody but considering the fact that you two can’t be near each other without going at each other’s throats we have decided that Harry should have custody. It is now illegal for you to see Brooklyn without Harry’s permission and if you do then you will be arrested and face consequences. It will be considered kidnap. Court dismissed. You have 12 hours to say goodbye and give Brooklyn to Harry or we will do it ourselves.” The judge said. I stood up and slowly walked out of the court. I got into my car and broke down in tears. My baby, I’ve just lost my baby. I put the key into the ignition and started to drive home. I got back and went up to Danielle and Liam’s. “How did it go?” Danielle asked. “Harry got custody of her. I’ve got to let my baby go.” I told her. “Oh Maddie, I wish it never came to this. I’m so sorry.” She hugged me. “Don’t be. I’m going to pack up her stuff and then come back and get her.” I said walking out again. I packed all Brooke’s things into one of my suitcases and went next door to get her. I got her and went back to my apartment. “Well I guess this is goodbye baby. I love you so much and I promise that one day I’ll get you back. Have fun with Daddy. I love you lots.” I said. I picked up everything and went down to the car and put it in. I got in and drove to Harry’s. I got everything back out and knocked on the door. He answered it. “Come in.” He said. “I’m sorry it came to this.” He told me. “So am I. But you won, so here you go.” I handed Brooklyn to him. “Have fun.” I tried my best to smile as I left all her stuff. “I love you Brooklyn.” I kissed her head and walked towards the door. “Maddie?” Harry said. I turned around. “Yeah?” “I’m really sorry, for everything. I know I’ve ruined your life and I honestly didn’t mean to. I’m sorry.” I went over to him and hugged him. “Look after my baby girl,” I said trying to hold in my tears. “I will. I’m sorry that I cheated.” I didn’t know what to say to that so I just walked out. I decided to go next door. “I heard what happened. I’m so sorry.” Eleanor hugged me. “Why is everyone apologising? It’s what I deserve. I never deserved a family and now I don’t have one. I’m on my own again.” “You have the baby inside you,” El reminded me. “That’s it. I don’t even want the baby. I want my family back but I can’t forgive Harry. I’ve just lost my daughter forever.” I said. “I’m sorry. I really am.” She told me. “I’m gonna go home, bye.” I left and got into my car. I drove home and went into my apartment. I sat on the floor and looked around. I can’t believe I just lost my daughter. I went to bed and cried myself to sleep.

-1 week later-

Harry’s P.O.V

“Alright, okay love, I’ve got to go, bye.” Louis said down the phone when I walked in. “Who was that?” I asked. “No one.” He put his phone in his pocket. “Who was it??” I repeated. “It was Maddie.” “Can I speak to her?” “No mate, she doesn’t want to speak to you, she’s urm… she’s leaving the country.” “Why?” I sat down with Brooke. “Said she’s got nothing left here, she’s asked for a few weeks off University but she’s probably going to quit. You took her daughter from her; it’s painful for her to stay.” “Where’s she going?” “I don’t know, she wouldn’t tell me.” “I can’t lose her Louis…” I put my head in my hands. “You already have, she’s gone Harry. She was at the airport, her flight was boarding when I hung up.” He told me. “I was going to go and see if I could get us joint custody of Brooke, she literally won’t stop crying for Maddie. The only reason she’s quiet now is because we were coming to see you.” I said. “Well you should never have applied for the custody battle in the first place, you knew it would destroy Maddie if she lost and I could have arranged for you to see Brooklyn. But now she’s left the country because of you, you’re the one who is in the wrong, you cheated on her…” He reminded me. “I know, and I feel terrible for it. I honestly wasn’t thinking when I slept with Emma. I love Maddie so much.” “Maybe you do, but you did sleep with Emma. She said she’ll never be able to trust you again mate, I’m sorry.” “Is she having an abortion?” I asked quietly. “She said that she never wanted the baby in the first place, only you wanted it and now she wants an abortion but I don’t know if she’ll go through with it.” Louis answered. “Divorce?” “Probably…” He said. “I’ve screwed up so much this time. She said she was going to come back until she found out I slept with Emma. If you hadn’t have told her she’d never have known.” I pointed out. “I’m not going to lie to my best friend! It was bad enough that I had to do it already without doing it again. I hated seeing her leave you but to be honest, you deserved it for cheating on her, with that slut. Maddie is one of the most perfect people you will ever meet and you lost her when you cheated.” He replied. “She wouldn’t have left and I’d still have my family.” “You lost Maddie and an unborn child which you had no connection with, she lost you and a baby which she has raised for the past 10 months pretty much on her own as well as all her friends. Maddie has lost more than you and she wasn’t even in the wrong.” He said. “I still lost the love of my life and she’s not going to come back…” I sighed. “Where’s El?” I asked. “Upstairs with the twins, why?” “Just wondering, can I go and speak to her?” “I don’t think that’s a good idea. I’ll go and see if she wants to come down.” He stood up and went upstairs.
