Maddie’s P.O.V
We got off the plane to be greeted by heat. I love that it’s hot even in December. We collected our suitcases and went to find my mum and dad. I saw Brooke and Faye sitting down but mum and dad were nowhere to be seen. I walked over to them and hugged them. “Where’s mum and dad?” I asked. “At home, I drove.” Brooke answered. “I’m 16 now, I passed my test a month ago.” She continued. “Oh yeah, okay, let’s go.” I said. We walked out of the terminal to Brooke’s car. “Do you like it?” She asked when I saw it. It was like mine but silver. “Yeah, it’s cool. I don’t have mine anymore.” I told her. “Yeah I know, it was written off after the crash. You’ve told me before.” She said looking at my leg. We got into the car and she drove us home. When we got home, mum and dad were waiting in the kitchen. Brooke unlocked the door and they walked towards us. “Maddie, you’re still on crutches?” Mum asked. “Yeah, I can get my cast off tomorrow though. Can you take me?” I asked. “Of course baby,” She said hugging me. She took Brooklyn off of Harry and took her out of her car seat. “And how’s my beautiful granddaughter?” She asked hugging her. “She’s fine mum,” I said. We chatted for a while and then I got a call from the doctor telling me that I can have my cast taken off whenever I want whilst in America. I thanked him and asked mum if she could take me to the hospital. I’m fed up of this thing. She drove me to the hospital and I got it taken off. “There you go, you can do anything, but not too much for the first few days.” The doctor said when he took my cast off. My leg felt so free. Mum took me home again and Harry had gone to sleep. I joined him because jet lag was catching up with me. I’m spending the day with Mum tomorrow and Harry is going out with my Dad.
I woke up and Harry had already left. I went downstairs and had something to eat before getting dressed and spending some time with my mum. I was hugging Brooklyn when she brought up the subject that I really didn’t want to talk about. “Have you and Harry thought about having any more kids?” She asked. “Not really, we’ve only just had Brooklyn; she’s only 6 months old.” I said. “But in the future?” Mum continued. “When I was in the car crash, I got a deep cut to my stomach, I don’t know if I’m even fertile.” I answered. “Oh… Does Harry know?” She replied. “No, he doesn’t know much to be honest, he found out about my self-harm because he saw the scars. He doesn’t know much about my depression or anything, I don’t want to tell him.” I confessed. “Maddie, he’s your husband, you need to tell him. If he just finds out then he’s not going to be very happy. You need to tell him everything hunny.” Mum said. “I can’t Mum, he’ll hate me.” I told her. “You’re his wife. No he won’t.” She answered. I hugged her and we talked about some other stuff until Harry got back. I decided to tell him about the depression. But I didn’t want him to know I might not be fertile. “Harry, can we talk?” I asked. “Of course,” He said turning to look at me. I led him upstairs to my bedroom. “I need to tell you something,” I said. “Go on then,” He replied. “Before I met you, I suffered from depression. I had it for 2 years. The only reason I got over it was because of you, I was talking to my mum and she said I needed to tell you.” I told him. “Maddie, why have you kept so much from me? I’m your husband, does that mean nothing to you?” He asked. “You know it does,” I said with tears in my eyes. We went back downstairs. “So she told you everything, about her maybe being infertile as well?” Mum asked Harry. Great, she just dropped me in it. “What?” Harry said turning to look at me. “Maddie, I’m sorry, I can’t be with someone who doesn’t tell me anything. Who keeps things from me that affect our marriage?” He said storming upstairs. I fell on the floor crying and Mum and Dad ran to comfort me. “I’m sorry; I thought you’d told him.” Mum said. “Well I hadn’t!” I shouted. I ran upstairs and Harry was packing his bags. “Harry, don’t leave, please.” I begged still crying. “You’ve left me no choice Maddie. You kept that from me, it affects everything and you didn’t even tell me. I can’t believe you.” He said zipping up his suitcase. He picked it up and left. I cried for ages before there was a knock on the door. “Go away!” I shouted. “Please Maddie, let me come in.” I heard Brooke’s voice. I opened the door and she came inside. I shut the door and hugged her. “Maddie, he’ll come back. I know he will. Don’t do this to yourself. You have a daughter to look after.” She said. “Do what? Go back into depression?” I said harshly. She stepped back. “Maddie, pull yourself out of it. You need to look after Brooklyn.” She said before walking out. I just sat on the floor and cried for a bit longer.
Harry’s P.O.V
I’m getting the first flight back to the UK. I don’t want to stay here. Maddie has kept so much from me. I hated leaving her and Brooklyn but I had no choice. She kept something as big as infertility to herself. I’m her husband and that obviously means nothing. I saw a flight going to London leaving in 30 minutes. I ran to the gate. “Have you got any seats on the flight to London?” I asked the woman at the desk. “We have one left.” She informed me. “I’ll take it.” I said and gave her some money for it. The plane was already boarding so I took the ticket off of her and ran onto the plane.

I got back and found my car. It was dark here but I remembered where I had parked it. I got in and drove to Louis’ apartment. I knocked on his door. He opened it. “I thought you were in California?” He said. “I was but I left. Maddie kept something from me; I had no choice but to leave.” I explained. He opened the door wider and let me in. “What did she keep from you?” He asked. “She might be infertile after the crash… She’s known for ages. She just didn’t tell me.” I answered. “Oh, well you better stay here then. But El isn’t in the best mood at the moment.” He said. “Okay, thank you,” I said walking to my old room. I dumped my suitcase on the floor and got ready for bed. I sat and thought for a while before falling asleep.
