“You’re very lucky Mrs Styles.” The doctor had told me when I woke up. “Your husband was here earlier. He was very worried about you,” He continued. “Harry,” I said. “Yes, Harry, Brooklyn is fine. Harry has her.” He answered. I was really lucky. I keep seeing the crash. I keep seeing the car stopping and me going into the back. I keep hearing Brooklyn cry. That was the last thing I heard before I passed out. Everyone has been to see me. I can go home tomorrow but I can’t travel. I can’t go to Scotland, Wales or Ireland with Harry. I can’t drive either because of my broken leg. I don’t know how I’m going to look after Brooklyn. El is 3 months pregnant. She’s not going to want to stay with me. She’ll want to be with her boyfriend. It was getting late so I fell asleep. I was woken by the doctor at 8am. “You are free to go now Maddie, you can leave as soon as Harry gets here.” He said. “You’ll have to have crutches though, do you know how to use them?” He asked. “Yes, I’ve had them before.” I clarified. “Okay, well you’ll have to come back in two weeks but other than that you can go.” He said. He left and I got out of bed and waited for Harry. He arrived with some clothes for me. I took them off of him and got changed. He took my bag and I grabbed the crutches that the doctor had left for me. “Where’s Brooke?” I asked him. “With Eleanor and Louis. They came to our house so I left her with them.” He answered. “Okay,” I said. We left the hospital and there were some paps outside. “Maddie, how are you?” One shouted. Me and Harry stopped for some pictures before getting into his car. “What happened to my car?” I asked. “It’s been written off but we got everything out of it don’t worry. I’ll buy you a new one.” He said. “Don’t bother. I can’t exactly drive.” I said looking at my leg. We got back and went inside. El and Louis were sitting hugging Brooklyn. “Maddie!” Louis said looking up. “Hey,” I said. I went and sat next to them before taking out my phone and going on Twitter. “Who told everyone I was in a crash?” I asked Harry. “Paul, he had to explain when I walked off stage.” He looked down. I read through my mentions. There were the usual ‘Get Well Soon’ and ‘I hope you’re okay.’ But there was one that said ‘I hope you die,’ I looked at it for a while before locking my phone and putting it down. The hate doesn’t get to me as much anymore. I’m happy with Harry. I turned on the TV and a talk show was on. “Madeline Styles left hospital on crutches today following a car crash yesterday. It is believed that she has been given the all clear of any major injuries.” The talk show host said. I turned it over. “Can you please announce your pregnancy so they can stop fussing over me?” I said jokingly to El. She laughed. “You were 4 months gone before anyone even noticed. I’m waiting until I show which is going to be soon.” She said holding her stomach. “How do you know?” I asked. “Because I can’t wear tight clothes anymore without showing,” She replied. I turned the TV back to the talk show to see if anyone had picked up on it. Sure enough the next bit of gossip was “Is Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriend Eleanor Calder pregnant? The 23 year old girl has been wearing baggy clothes for about 2 weeks now. Could she be following after her best friend and have a baby on the way?” The talk show host said. I laughed. “Nothing gets past them.” I said. Harry came in with a glass of water and handed it to me. “Here,” He said. I took it and drank some before starting to watch the talk show. There was yet another article about One Direction saying “One Direction stars Niall, Liam and Zayn leave partners behind to tour Great Britain. Maddie and Eleanor have been accompanying the 5 boys as they tour England but Annabel, Danielle and Perrie haven’t been seen with them.” I turned it off. “Well, they’ve done an article on every member now! They obviously don’t pay that much attention because Perrie was around last week.” I said. Everyone laughed at me. I stopped talking then. “When are you going to tell people then?” Harry asked Eleanor. “Maybe this week sometime, but I need to be with Louis and I’m going to stay to look after Maddie and Brooklyn.” She answered. “You don’t have to do that! Go with Louis.” I interrupted. “You’re my best friend, I’m not leaving you and you can’t look after Brooklyn by yourself.” She said. “You’re pregnant! You want to be with Louis.” I argued. “It’s only a month. I’ll see him again after.” She said. I gave up; there was no point, she was going to stay. She laughed at my sudden quietness knowing I’d given in. We sat and talked for a while before having some lunch and watching some movies. This is going to be my life for the next month. Harry is leaving in 5 days but has rehearsals all day tomorrow. At about 7pm, Louis and Eleanor went back to their apartment. They live together now. Harry was in the kitchen on the phone when I walked in. “Yeah, she’s fine. Okay, love you, bye.” He finished. “Who was that?” I asked. “Gemma, she was worried about you.” He said hugging me. “Oh okay,” I said hugging him back. Brooklyn interrupted by crying. She was upstairs and we heard it through the baby monitor. “I’ll go.” I said letting go of him. “No, it will take you ages to get up the stairs. I’ll go.” He said looking down at my leg. He ran upstairs to Brooklyn. I could hear him through the monitor trying to get her back to sleep. “Come on baby, daddy’s here.” He said. I smiled, I love my family. I went to the stairs and started to walk up them on my crutches. I got to the first floor when Harry came down and picked me up before carrying me to our bedroom. “Thank you,” I said when he put me down. He kissed my cheek and I went into the bathroom to get changed for bed. We watched some TV for a while before going to sleep.
I woke up to Harry moving around. “Good, you’re up. El is going to be here soon.” He told me. I went and got dressed before slowly going down the stairs. I got to the bottom and there was a knock on the door. I answered it out of breath. El was standing there. “Harry!!” I shouted up the stairs. He came running down and kissed me before leaving. El laughed and we went into the living room. “I hate having to wear clothes like this.” I said looking at myself. “Well, I hate to break it to you but you’re out of heels for at least 6 weeks. That’s when you can get your cast off.” She said. I huffed and sat down. We talked for a while before turning on the TV to see what the tabloids are saying today. “Is Maddie Styles housebound? Eleanor Calder was seen leaving her apartment with boyfriend Louis Tomlinson to look after best friend Maddie today. The One Direction boys have a concert here in London tonight so will be out all day.” I just looked at the TV. “How the hell do they find these things out?” I asked. “They’re sneaky.” Eleanor said. I laughed and went into the kitchen to get some food. “Urgh, we have no food.” I said looking in the fridge. “Where are Harry’s car keys?” She asked. “Umm… In the hall I think, why?” I replied. She ran upstairs and came back down with Brooklyn. She grabbed the car seat from the cupboard and Harry’s keys off the side. “Come on, we’re going food shopping.” She said opening the front door. I walked out and climbed into Harry’s car whilst she locked the door and put Brooklyn in the back of the car. She got in and we went to Tesco. El got the stroller out of the trunk of the car and put Brooklyn in it before walking inside. I followed after her. She locked the car and we went and got what we needed. “Are you Maddie and Eleanor?” A girl asked us when we were nearly finished. “Yeah, why?” I replied. “I’m a big fan of One Direction, are you okay Maddie?” She asked. “Yes thank you, I’m fine now. I’ve just got a broken leg.” I told her. She smiled and left. “Well that was normal.” I said. “That’s what they do, they ask a question and leave.” Eleanor said as she unloaded the shopping onto the conveyer belt. We paid and walked back to the car as I got a text. I got into the car and read it.

Awh, bless him. I replied saying I was and we went home. We got back and I helped Eleanor unpack the groceries. We had snacks and then sat and watched some more movies. When we finished watching a movie we started flicking through the channels. “Go back,” I said as I saw One Direction flash across the screen. She went back and they were doing an interview. “So this is your third tour, how does it feel?” The interviewer asked. “It’s amazing to think how far we’ve come in just 4 and a half years. We have had 3 albums and have a 4th coming out soon and it’s great that we still have the support that we did 4 years ago.” Louis answered. “Harry, we heard your wife was in a car crash, is she okay?” The interviewer continued. I knew Harry hated personal questions. “Yeah she’s fine now, thanks for asking.” He said. “That’s good, so boys, this 4th album, has it got a name?” She asked. “It has, but we aren’t allowed to say. Sorry.” Liam said. There was a knock at the door and El went to answer it. “Hey!” I heard her shout. She shut the door and I turned around to see who it was. “What are you two doing here?” I asked Belle and Dani. “We came to see you, how are you?” They asked sitting down. I turned off the TV and started to talk to them. We talked for a while before they both had to leave for work. “Bye,” I said hugging them as they left. We watched another movie and then the boys got back so Eleanor left. “Hey,” Harry said walking in and kissing me. “Hi, good day?” I asked. “Eh, it was alright.” He said. “But I’m back with my girls now.” He smiled. I had my sleeves of my hoodie rolled up and quickly rolled them down. “What was that for?” He asked. “I was cold.” I answered. “No, you didn’t want me seeing your arms.” He pulled up my sleeve and looked at my arm. “What are these?” He asked pointing at my scars. “Scars,” I said quietly. “You used to self-harm?” He questioned. “Yeah…” I said looking down at my feet. “Why didn’t you tell me? We’re married for god sake.” He said in a harsh tone. “I didn’t want to, I haven’t done it since I was sixteen and you’ve never noticed before.” I said standing up and going upstairs. I sat in the spare room for a while before I got up and went to our bedroom. I got ready for bed and climbed in. I didn’t want to talk to him. I heard him come upstairs looking for me. I pretended to be asleep. He moved the hair away from my face. “I know you’re not asleep Maddie, look, I don’t care that you didn’t tell me. I love you, you’re perfect the way you are.” He said. I opened my eyes and kissed him. “I love you too Harry,” I said. He got into bed next to me and I turned to face him. “Why?” He asked. “Because I was bullied, I never had many friends until I met Belle.” I confessed. “They made me depressed, so I cut as a cry for help.” I told him. He kissed me and we went to sleep.
-3 weeks later-
Today is the day they finish the British leg of the tour. It’s the 20th of December and we leave for California on the 22nd. Harry is back tonight and then we’re with everyone tomorrow before leaving for Cali. I still have my cast but the doctor said I can get it taken off whilst I’m in California because my leg is healed. El has been really helpful around the house, she even stayed whilst Harry was away. She went home about an hour ago. She’s finally announced her pregnancy because her bump started to show. She did it when Louis was in Scotland because she couldn’t disguise the bump anymore. She’s gotten quite a lot of hate and a few people are saying she’s copying me but even if she is I don’t care. She’s my best friend and I’m maybe closer with her than Belle now. I love her to pieces and I’m going to be there for her just like she has been for me for the past month. Brooklyn will be six months on the 4th of January. “I’m home,” Harry shouted as he opened the door. I stood up and walked to the door. “Hey,” I said kissing him. “I’ve missed you so much,” He said as he started to make out with me. “Harry, don’t get too carried away,” I said pulling away. “I’m sorry, I’ve just really missed you.” He said. “I’ve missed you too, haven’t you missed Brooklyn?” I said looking at her. “Of course I have,” He said picking her up of the floor. He kissed her head and hugged her for a while. We caught up on everything and then went to bed; it’s been a long day.
I got up and dressed for our day with everyone. Harry was making breakfast when I got downstairs. I sat down and ate it before Harry ran to sort out Brooklyn. It was 9.20am and we have to be at El and Louis’ at 9.30. He came back downstairs with Brooklyn and grabbed his keys. I followed after him and got into the car. We got there and went to their apartment. “Hey, where’s Zayn and Perrie?” Dani asked when we got inside. “Oh shit.” Harry said walking out. “Don’t worry, they’re here already!” She said. He walked back inside. “Not cool Dani.” He said. Everyone laughed and we sat down. We had a great day exchanging presents, talking and watching movies. It was 10pm when we left, I still have to pack for California tomorrow. We got home and I started to pack. I was finally done at 11.30pm so I went to bed straight after. We have to go to the airport at 8am. I slept until 7am and then got ready to go to America. We left our house at 7.45am and got to the airport just before 8.
