Harry’s P.O.V
I was still so happy that Maddie had come to see me. Last night we had the best night and probably annoyed Louis more than we did before. We haven’t seen each other in a month you can hardly blame us! I had woken up to my beautiful girlfriend and I can again tomorrow but then she has to leave. She still has classes. When I get back she will have finished for the semester. We’ve got a week together before she goes home. She hasn’t seen her family since she left and came to London so she’s really excited about going back for Christmas. I wanted to spend Christmas with her but she doesn’t want me meeting her family yet and she really wants to go home. I don’t mind. It’s going to be hard being from different countries and we knew that. She flies out to Cali on Christmas Eve because she doesn’t want to miss Louis’ birthday and she’s back for New Years.
“Haz?” Maddie interrupted my thoughts.
“Yes baby?” I answered.
“It’s time to get up.” She said.
“Okay.” I got out of bed. I wasn’t going to argue with her. She was wearing a red dress with a short black blazer on top. I went and had a shower and got dressed. When I walked out of the bathroom she was lying on the bed watching TV. “Morning beautiful,” I said leaning down to kiss her. She got up from the bed and put her arms around my neck.
“Morning,” She said before kissing me. We walked out of the door holding hands and went down to have breakfast. Louis looked so annoyed. El just laughed at him.
“Morning!” I said cheerfully.
“Oh shut up Harry,” Louis said. Maddie giggled.
“Someone’s grumpy,” I said playing with his hair.
“And you know why. Now sit down and eat some breakfast,” Louis said. After breakfast Maddie wanted to go shopping so I took her. She didn’t buy much she just looked.
“What’s wrong Mads?” I asked her.
“I don’t want to leave, I want to stay with you Harry…” She said.
“I know baby, I want to stay with you too but you’ve got classes. It’s only two weeks and then I’ll be home again.” She sighed, she probably hoped I’d give in and let her stay.
“Maddie, you want to graduate don’t you?” She nodded her head.
“Then you’ve got to go to classes!” I said.
“I know Harry, I just missed you so much, and I can’t be away from someone I love for that long.” I knew how she felt. I desperately wanted to see her every day since I left. Especially when I found out that she did cry when I left. It was all over the internet. There were pictures of her walking in to the apartment block still crying and hugging all the girls before they got into their cars. Even when she left for Uni the next day she still looked sad. I knew the paps would follow her for a few days anyway but they followed her for a week. I carried on going round the shops with Maddie until she went to get something to eat. I saw a ring in the jewellers that I knew she would love. I went in and brought it quickly. It was silver with black and white diamonds. I wanted it to be a promise ring. Maybe then it wouldn’t be so hard to be away from each other. It declares my love for her and means that one day I will replace it with an engagement ring. I have thought about proposing but I want to do it properly, like ask her parents for her hand in marriage, plus we’ve only been together for a little while. Seeing as I’m not going to meet her parents until we fly over there for spring break I can’t do that yet. She came back with a salad. I forgot she was a health freak. I’ve never seen her eat anything fatty like cake. We went back to the hotel and talked for a while until I decided to give her the promise ring. I put it on her pillow when she went in the bathroom. When she came back out the first thing she said was “Please tell me that’s not an engagement ring.” Nice to know she doesn’t want to get engaged.
“No don’t worry, it’s a promise ring. What’s wrong with it being an engagement ring though?”
“Phew, and because we haven’t even met each other’s families yet, it wouldn’t be right. And if you do propose I’d quite like you to get down on one knee and not just put it on a pillow!” I laughed
“Mental note made.” She laughed and went to open the box.
“Harry, it’s gorgeous! Thank you.” She screamed. She sat down next to me on the bed and put the ring on. She kissed me and we started making out. Then we decided to go to the others’ room and see what they do when they see the ring. First we went to Louis and El’s; when we got there they noticed it and El pulled Maddie into the kitchen part of the room.
“Please tell me you didn’t.” Louis said. I smirked.
“I didn’t, it’s a promise ring.” Louis looked relieved. Then we decided to go to Liam and Dani’s. Niall was there too.
“Are you two engaged?” Niall stood up when he spotted the ring.
“No, it’s a promise ring Niall.” Maddie told him. He sat back down. Last, we went to Zayn and Perrie’s. Perrie noticed the ring straight away.
“Did he propose?” She asked excitedly.
“Nah, it’s a promise ring Pez.”
“Oh…” She said. I can tell she wants another one of them to be engaged with her. But it was funny getting her hopes up.
