Never Expected That!!
First Group!!!!
The next day came and it was time for the first group of kids. I was in the staff room with all the other staff members, catching up on the gossip even though we had seen each other yesterday, when our boss came in. “we have a busy day today, we have a college group coming down today for the rest of the week, they are our first proper customers and they will be staying In accommodation block that we provide so we may need a few off you to stay overnight there,” He stated and looked in my direction. “Well what are you waiting for, let’s look active! The jobs are on the board so go and see what you are doing.” He continued to state to us. After he left the room I questioned the others. “Does Bob have a problem with me?”
“Well what do you mean?” mike answered.
“Just then, he looked at me when he said staying over the night? I swear he has it in for me!! Anyway I’m going to see what I’m doing...” I replied and got up and saw that I was doing surfing. Yes I thought to myself. This was defo my speciality, well you would think so as I’m the UK’s under 21 female surf champion. Anyway I went and got changed into my bikini and wetsuit only half way up. See even though I’m in this job, surfing will always come first, my whole dream would be to become a surf instructor, so doing it as part of my job is brilliant. I went and got my surfboard out of the car and as I did the sound off two vehicles came closer down the country roads. “Brilliant” I said to myself and shut up the car quickly. I made my way back into entrance off the centre and into the staff room. I placed my surfboard down for a moment and headed back out to the car I had to get out my surfboard wax. I timed it just right as all the other staff members showed the students the dorms. By the time I had finished waxing up the board and took down the trailer full off them, they were already in the outdoor seating area talking to Bob. I saw all the other colleges sat at the back on the higher bench. I quietly sat on the end next to mike.
“So as you all know this is a new centre and you are the lucky students to try out the resources and the new staff. Speaking off staff I the manager Bob. Guys come down and introduce yourselves.” As he said that we all got up and made our way down to the front. As soon as I got to the front and turned around I saw my old tutor from college. See me being 20 I’m the youngest one off all the staff and apparently the risk off us all with me being the youngest and least experienced. For god sake I’m the youngest bar one also I trained with the same company but at a different centre. Anyway it went down the line and I was the last to say “Hi I’m Jesy. I’ll be taking you for high ropes, some other activites and my specialty surfing as I’m the under 21 British female champion. Also it’s good to see you again Jim.” I finished off. “So Jims told us that you are in groups so the first group will be doing surfing first with Jesy, then next will be doing climbing with Leah and then the third will be doing kayaking with tom.” They all split off into their groups. Luckily mike was with me today so we could have some fun with them all. Me mike
So then we are going to be surfing and it is perfect condition for beginners. If you all line up and I will give you a wetsuit, boots and a rash vest to put on and then we can head off down to the beach. I gave each off them a wetsuit and they went and got changed. Mike had to also get changed and he didn’t care about putting a wetsuit on in front of me. Let’s put it this way I had to turn around to stop myself from drawling. He has an amazing body. Jesy you ready to get going the teens are ready to go.

It was a little awkward as we were walking down.
Shit ive forgotten my board I will be back in a min. let them do a warm up and get them to take the boards down to the beach and put them in a semi-circle facing the beach. Ohh and when I walk away don’t look. I said and winked at him before I ran up to the staff room to get my board. As I was walking back down to the beach I could see that everyone was running in and out of the sea and mike didn’t really have control off them.
Once I got closer I had decided that I would put my board nose down into the sand and I whistled and that sure got their attention. They all turned around and gathered that I was not impressed. They came out of the sea and stood around I picked out my board and placed it down. Each off you grab a board and make a semi-circle around my board and hurry up cause I would actually like to go in sometime before lunch. Why are you just standing there? And with that they all moved and made a semi-circle. Everything from then on, on teaching them the technique was perfect. They listened perfectly and within 15mins they were ready to get into the water. They took their boards and they were screaming about how cold it was. Mike was in there with them and I was just doing up my wetsuit. I connected my leash onto my ankle and I was in that sea as quick as a flash, but I remembered that I was teaching them for a while so I got out the sea and placed my board in the sand and got back into the pure blue sea. About two hours have passed and it was time for lunch. We left the boards in a semi-circle well I say we I mean I got mike to do that. I quickly attached my leash as there was a good couple of sets so I was in that sea within a flash. I caught some good waves and I only fell off once which was an achievement considering the tricks that I was doing. I got out of the sea and everyone was watching. And that is how you do it people. Mike said and I hit him. I took my board up with me as it was my prized position. We walked up and I was talking away to mike. If you guys put your wetsuits up in the dry room then you can get them later. Just remember what size you have.
Once I was in the staff changing room I got changed into a new bikini and put on shorts and a hoodie. I walked out to the canteen area and got my food and mike was sat outside with Jim. I decided that I would have a catch up. The lunch went by quick and I soon had to teach again. luckily i had two wetsuits with me today as it would off been a killer to get the wet one back on again. Mike and myself had a lot off banter between us and it was almost flirty banter which isn’t a bad thing as we are both single. I wonder if he likes likes me, well we will soon. Find out.
