“They don’t care about you Blake, but they have to because you’re family.” Blake turned around, looked at each of us and then her eyes fell on Charlie’s. “Blake…”
She shook her head and in only a few minutes you could hear the screeching up tires. The pub was still silent. Charlie took a few steps forward,
“Oh, Charlie! What a pleasant surprise.” This kid Noah, as the bartender called him smirked taking a sip of his drink. “Congratulations graduate!”
“You son of a bitch bastard. How the fuck could you say those things… yeah Blake isn’t the most perfect person in the world but at least she can accept it.” It wasn’t ending from there.
“At least she had a chance, after graduation you didn’t even try to get out and guess what. You’re a fucking bum mooching off your parents.” She took a step forward and slapped him but just as she was about to walk away he grabbed her wrist.
“You bitch!” He stood up and hovered over her but the lads and I moved forward faster than ever. “Let her go.” Niall demanded. He glanced at us all and snorted.
“Awhh, how cute. Your little British fag boyfriends going to save you?” He threw her wrist out of his hands. “Charlie, go home please.”
She turned her head to the bartender, “Go home and make sure Blake is okay. I will deal with Noah.” She nodded her head and walked away with everyone following behind and not once did she let a tear shed.
Blake didn’t end up being home so we invited the girls back to the breakfast for a movie. It was still a bit earlier and we didn’t want their big day to go to waste. “I’m really sorry about that guys, tonight was supposed to be a blast. I’m sorry.” She muttered as we made our way up the stairs.
“Don’t apologize, you have nothing’ to be sorry about.” Lou said with a gentle smile and we all voice out in agreement. We finally got to the rooms, Charlie, Niall, Liam, and Rae ended up sneaking down stairs to find something to eat.
“Here we are, food!” Everyone cheered and we began to stuff our faces. After a little while of just chatting and getting to know the girls it was brought up.
“Charlie?” I watched as she took a bite out of her oreo. “Yes Harry.” She had a smile on her face. “Blake, today I brought her up when we had lunch at Nana Grace’s diner and what she said… ‘Dear, this is a small town and the Gregory’s are no secret to this town, especially darling Blake.’ And then tonight at the pub…”
Rae’s face fell and Charlie sighed. “When she was eight and I was about five or six we were coming home from dinner with our parents… it was around winter time so the roads were slick and iced.” She took a breath and Niall had sad next to her comforting her,
“From what I remember and was told there was a car coming around the same corner, had his brights on, and was drinking. The roads being the way they were didn’t help when my dad had to swerve out of the way.
The car flipped, my parents died on the spot, and Blake was ejected from the car and I had broken my arm.” By now tears had filled her eyes. Rae held her and Niall laced his fingers with hers.
“Blake never fully recovered. I was held back a year because I missed a lot of school that year with therapy and everything but Blake… she was a mess. The way she went and still is going about it is not something we’re happy about…
but she’s handling it in her own way. Blake’s a dancer, since she was four. When she flew out of the car she fractured her spine. Spent two years in physical therapy, said she wouldn’t be able to walk again, but it was a miracle when she proved them wrong.”
Charlie smiled, “Grammie likes to say its mom and dad looking over her. She continued to dance, took classes and competed from an out of town Dance Company. Her senior year she received a full scholarship to Julliard and some talent scout from a talent agency in LA wanted her but she denied both.”
“Oh my…” Lou mumbled, his voice slowly coming back. “So why is she called the town tornado?” Charlie shook her head, “it’s a name that had come up and stuck with her.”
Rae soon stepped in, “Blake isn’t the most stable person. She’s all over the place, partying, making a scene any way possible whether it’s her outfit, or her overall attitude.” Rae ran her open hand through her hair,
“Don’t get me wrong I love her. She’s like my own big sister I’ve never had. Blake it a firecracker, she’s not meant to be here. She needs to be in LA, she’s mean to be their tornado. It’s just hard to get to her, she pretends she’s listening but then shakes it off. She’s a mess…”
From there the subject changed, we put on Ted and before I knew it everyone passed out. I still sat awake with so much on my mind. I had googled Blake Gregory and so many articles popped up.
‘Lexar Falls, small town local senior LA bound?’
Lexar High Senior Blake Gregory isn’t a household name, but in a small town outside of Dallas, Texas this 18 year old has been a victim of a one of a kind miracle! When she was eight she was involved in a car accident that should have left her paralyzed, but she had beat all the odds and after two years of therapy found herself back on her feet dancing. Gregory has been with a local Dallas dance company ‘The Dallas Bellas’. She is being offered a quarter of a million contract with a professional dance compant in LA. This company is known for the many opportunities for their dancers which many who have danced background for artists like big names Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and the list goes on. Wonder if she’ll take it? Only she can tell.
I was just about to pull up another article when I heard a crash from downstairs. Everyone else was so deep in his or her sleep that I decided to figure out what it was on my own. I pulled my phone out as a flashlight and headed downstairs.
