"You know it'd help if a) you didn't go around scaring the shit out of people and b) you didn't ease drop on our thoughts. You can block them right?"

"Of course I can, but what fun would that be?" I saw her eyeing Harry's muscles through his under-armor. You know what? Fuck this.

Fuck what exactly? She gave me a sly smile.

"This." I said out loud and turned to face Harry's confused look. I threw my hands around his neck and crushed my lips to his. His hands traveled up my backside and groped my waist, completely caught in the moment. He bit at my bottom lip and I automatically let him in. His tongue probed the contours of my mouth. I broke away from him and placed my lips to his neck. As I suckled fiercely, I felt his body tense up next to mine.

Okay, I get it. I get it!

Yes!

I released my lips from his neck. I'd left a dark love bite to match the ones he'd given me last night.

"Mine." I pointed at Harry as I turned back to face her pained expression. "Don't touch him, don't talk to him, don't even look at him if I'm not in the same room."

"Possessive much?" She sneered at me.

"Oh, yeah. Next time, somebody will have a few broken bones and it won't be me." I'm not normally so bitchy but she tested my patience and I needed to show her that he was off limits.

"You know, I love the possession and all but we have company." I turned my head to see Izak, Shawn, Jonathen, Daniah, and Erin, still flaunting Gemma's knickers on his head.

"You know, I still think we should have a no swearing rule. It's really impo--"

"Give it a rest, Daniah. Damn!"

"Sorry..." She dropped her head and backed up into Shawn, while trying not to make it so obvious. She's got it bad... I wonder how she hides her thoughts...?

"Look, guys. We have to focus on the task at hand." Erin smiled, mischievously.

"What do you mean?" I asked, glancing between him and Harry's secret creepy-smile-fest.

"He means we have to officially initiate you." I looked at him.

"Harry say what now? What exactly does that mean?" I know by the looks on their faces that I won't like it.

HOW did this happen? How did I let it get this far? My head was pounding. Did they really think hoppin' me up on jello shots was gonna make me tipsy enough to not freak out?


"Let me out of here! I'm claustrophobic, you assholes!" I screamed as loud as I could. Oh, God. I'm seeing dead people. I'm starting to see actual alive dead people!

Erm... actual dead, dead people?

How does that even work? It's like a contradiction. They're not dead but they're not alive, so... they wouldn't be both, they'd be neither or... I just confused myself.

Is that... Izak? Sounds like it.Oh, my God. They're hurting my head. Think. Think, Dyl, think. Umm... naked Harry? Nice, but no. That's not what right now is for. Focus.

Clear my mind. Breathe. In. Out. In. Out.

A blinding white light blocks my connection and just like that, I've shielded my thoughts. YUSH! Small space. Get out. Get out. GET... OUT! I held my breathe and pushed as hard as I can. Think about fresh air.

Think about Harry.

Think about him kissing you as you break out.

All of a sudden my face was showered with wood chips as I broke the door off the casket. My lungs filled with fresh forest air.

Where the hell am I?

I tuned back in to our pack and heard a panic.

They've breached the border.

What are we gonna do?

Has she passed the test yet?

All the voices blurred together but I knew something was very, very wrong.

"Thank god you're out. We've been breached." It takes me a while to realize that the voice isn't in my head and that it's talking to me.

"What?"

"I'll explain later. We have to go, NOW!" Harry grabbed my arm and dragged me behind him to some shed a little ways into the forest.

"Okay, what the hell is going on?" My heart was beating fast.

"You were locked in a casket for your test because your biggest fear is small spaces. We've been breached. Another pack is on our land and they're readying to attack." Izak explained to me in one panicked breath.

"Yeah. We needed you to be ready to fight because you can't be Alpha unless you pass initiation." Jonathen continued.

"Okay. Ummm, what pack is it?"

"We don't know, Smart One."

"Shut up, Lexxi. Just stop talking." We all looked over at Daniah in surprise.

"What? This is war. We don't need her snobbery distracting us." Is snobbery even a word?

"Okay, well this is my first battle so stay close, keep in touch, and try not to die on me." We file out into the full moon filled sky, Changing as we exit the threshold.

I was face to face with the Alpha, who was challenging me. I would recognize those eyes anywhere. His snout was screwed up, nose flat, eyes narrowed. He came ready for a fight. I never thought it'd come to this. I thought he was better than this. I love him but I have the overwhelming urge to protect my Pack. To protect my Mate, my family. I steel my haunches behind me, with Harry and Erin flanking me. I bared my teeth to let him know I meant business.

This is my territory. No one is gonna take what's mine away from me.

Especially my own father.
