Finding The Cure
Daniah's POV:
"Do you guys think she'll be alight?" I laid in Shawn's lap with Izak on the other side of me. We'd been crashing at their place since Dylan was taken to Harry's three days ago. No one ever thinks to call and say 'oh yeah, the Alpha's doing alright, guys. You can stop worrying.' No... that's too much to ask.
"I don't even know. You think Harry's remembered yet?" Izak looked at me, for once not hating the words that came out of my mouth.
"Maybe. You know how he gets when he's stressed. Remember how he freaked out when he knew he was Changing? Dumped Kaitlyn and everything." Shawn said, adjusting himself underneath me.
"So? No one liked her in the first place." Izak said.
"Kaitlyn was a hoe, first of all." I said, causing the boys to stare at me. "Hoe's not a curse word. And second, why didn't you guys just tell him about Simeon? I mean, it would've went faster."
"Because when Harry's stressed like that... he doesn't listen to anyone. And plus, none of us were really in our right mindset."
"Well--" I started, but was cut off by a knock on the door.
"Shawn, will one of you get that? I'm cooking!" Shawn's mom called from the kitchen.
"I got it, Mary. Don't worry about it." I got up and answered the door, shocked to see Lexxi. "What are you doing here?" I asked, my gaze hardening. No one had time for her to make everyone miserable. We need to worry about Dylan right now.
"I need to talk to you."
"Lexxi, I'm just really busy right now and I don't have ti--" She cut me off and stepped into the house.
"Please, just listen for a second. I need someone to talk to... Izak hates me, Shawn won't listen. Harry's MIA, Dylan's out of commission, and Jonathen took my mom to the doctor's. Please... I'm begging you." She looked close to tears, so I nodded my head and closed the door behind her.
"What are you doing here?" Izak asked, obviously restraining himself from throwing her out the door.
"Down boy. She's with me. Be right back." I smiled at the confused boys and walked through the kitchen with Lexxi trailing behind. "Do you want something?" I asked, pouring a glass of water.
"Lexxi! I haven't seen you in years!" The twins' mom smiled at Lexxi. She obviously wasn't aware that sweet, little Lex had grown up into an attention seeking pessimist.
"Nice to see you again, Mrs. Holmes. How's your husband? And no, I'm good, Daniah."
"He's good. Really good... he just got a promotion, actually. He'll be home soon. You know, he was starting to get worried about Shawn until he started dating Daniah, a year ago." I blushed and looked down into the cup of water, taking a small sip. They don't know...
"They're so cute together." Lexxi smiled. We're not doing this... fake friends thing. Especially not to my boyfriend's mum.
"Come on, Lexxi. Let's go." I grabbed her arm, leaving the glass on the counter. I dragged her to Shawn's room, ignoring her pleas for me to slow down. I shut the door behind us. "Okay, what do you want? What do you need to talk about?" I laid back on his bed, staring up at the royal blue ceiling.
"I had sex with Erin!" She blurted, and right after that, she bust out in tears. Like... ugly tears. Her head was in her hands as she sat on Shawn's bed and she let out loud, hiccuping cries.
"You did what?" I sat up, pushing her a little.
"I know! And that's not all!" She cried, hiding her face while trying to get up.
"Oh, God... what else?" I asked, trying to hide my disappointment.
"Well... me and Erin dated for a while..." My mouth fell open. "But... around December I told him I thought I was falling in love with him and he... well, he cheated on me... and then he left me... and you know how my dad was always abusive of Jon and I? Well, the night Erin dumped me... my dad kind of... touched me wrong." She looked up and me and I exhaled heavily. This is a lot to take in...
"But isn't your dad..."
"Yeah... well, Erin did that, too. And he never even talked to me about it! And then he just... showed up to my house, almost three months later, trying to apologize and all that... and I told him off. But when my brother went with my mum to Doncaster, he just climbed into my window and... well yeah... and he told me that he loved me..."
"Wow... umm... have you told anyone else?"
"No! Everyone's either disappeared or they hate me... I didn't mean to be such a bitch... I just can't take it. I'm so close to him all the time and he just won't leave me alone!"
"Maybe talk to him?" I really didn't know what to do... this seemed like stuff Dylan would be good at... I mean, her life was under control before... well... yeah.
"No! I can't do that!" I cocked my head at her.
"Why not?" She looked at me and then looked down. She whispered, ever so quietly, but I still heard.
"Because I still love him."
Harry's P.O.V:
"Simeon?"
"Harry?" I felt a lump rise in my throat. I can't believe it. Three years and one accident and I finally come and see him.
"It's me. I need an answer... can you do that for me, Sim?" It's hard to think we were practically brothers... and I don't know anything about him.
"Well, if it's an answer you seek, there's a prize I will need." I walked farther into his small flat, hoping he'd give up the gibberish and turn around. No such luck.
"Really, Sim? I was, basically, family. Can't you find some kindness and just give me the answers? It's important." Simeon was our first Alpha... sort of. He grew up on the "Darkside" with the rest of us... you know, the potential "Werewolfian" kids and he, Erin, the twins, and I were best friends. But Simeon... he was a special case... he Changed when he was 12. At first he thought it was way cool. When his mom started freaking out, he realized it was weird... and obviously sex hadn't triggered a change. Once he turned 16, he couldn't take it anymore. He ran away and went to look for any answers to kill his Wolf.
"Depends on the question." And on the way, he became the wisest Rogue in the world. Who needs a job when you get paid for answering questions?
"Remember Dylan?" Even though Erin and the twins thought girls were gross, Dylan was like a little sister to Simeon back then. We always looked out for her. He turned around and looked at me, sharply.
"What about her?"
"She's been put under the Alpha's Curse." I choked out. What the hell had happened to his face?
"She what?" He stood up, knocking his chair back.
"And I need to know how to fix it."
"Salvador..."
"I need another way."
"There is no other way. You have to kill her father with Salvador... or she won't come to as herself. She'll become a killing machine by the time the poison spreads. Do you want to save her or not?" I exhaled heavily. How am I going to do this?
"I'll help you. I'll help you find the sword." I looked at Simeon, knowing this was hard for him... coming back to where his life began to mess up.
"Your Mum will be happy to see you."
"It's time I saw her, too." He smiled, examining his extra clothes that I had borrowed from outside the house. "You always were the messy one." I laughed with him before grabbing his arm.
"Sim... what the hell did you do to your face?"
"That's a story for another time. But it has to do with a girl, one you should remember."
"Oh? Who?"
"Her name's Violet. And she'll be appearing real soon." He gave me a creepy smile but kept walking with me, until we stepped outside. We both broke into a simultaneous run, ready to save our childhood friend.
