Diamond Hearts

USA

After a couple more days, It was finally time to go to the US. We had made our way back to London, just in time to check in and board the plane. I held onto my daughter hand tightly as we walked upon the plane and took our seat, luckily we were sitting in a row of four seats so we were not separated.
Logan wriggled in her seat excitedly, as the rest of us giggled at her cuteness.
I know that it is going to be a long flight. But it will be worth it.
First, we are landing in L.A early in the morning. The next flight to New York isn't until late that night, so we have plenty of time for looking around and exploring.
The plane ride consisted of endless chatter from the little two year old that insisted on climbing all over you when she was bored.
She crawled into my lap and sat for a little while before crawling over to Maggie and then to Luna before making her way all the way back to me.
She sat in my lap, facing me as she mumbled good for nothing words whilst tugging every once in a while at my beanie. Then she began twirling my hair in her own.
"Okay Baby Bear, time to watch a movie", I sigh tiredly, lifting my daughter off my lap and placing her in her own seat. She nodded silently as I plugged in her earphones and ordered to watch Ice Age.
She was in fits of giggles the whole time, making the flight attendants gush over her and say how adorable she is.
Soon, the food cart came around and I ordered a juice box, a packet of chips and a chocolate bar for Logan and a water and salad for myself.
Logan sat with the tray table down and ate away at her food whilst giggling at the little TV screen in front of her.
After finishing my salad, a started drifting off the sleep, the last thing I saw was the innocent smile plastered on my daughters face.
I woke up a few hours late to Logan sleeping soundly in my lap and the other girls watching movies and listening to music on their phones.
Sighing, I sat up a bit more, careful not to wake Logan up with my sudden movements. She just buried her face further into the crook of my neck.
I lifted her into her own seat, noticing that she must have rummaged through her bag to get out her pacifier, blanky and teddy because she had all three in her hands and mouth.
Gently, I placed her blanky over her tiny body and adjusted her so that she was comfortable and wouldn't wake up. She was curled up in her seat and sucked on her pacifier.
I leaned back and decided to also watch a movie. It was dark now and hopefully Logan would stay asleep all night. I highly doubt that she will, but you never know. She takes me by surprise sometimes.
I sat back, watching a movie and enjoying some 'Me' time. it was nice a quiet. There was the occasional cough from somebody on the plane or the little snore or laugh. But other than that, it was nice and peaceful.
We didn't have any window seats because we were seated in the middle with aisles either side of us.
The lights dimmed and soon I found myself drifting off to sleep again.
When I woke up, it was light. I knew that we would be landing shortly and it made me all excited, knowing that we were going to be in a new place.
Logan began stirring next to me, slowly fluttering her eyes open and looking around the room before looking at me. When she saw me, a smile sparked her lips. She sat up, crawling into my lap and giving me a tired hug.
I pulled the pacifier from her mouth, making her from unhappily and snatch it back, shoving it into her mouth and crossing her arms.
I sighed, shaking my head as she began playing with my hair. After I wasn't paying her the attention she wanted, she began tugging at it. I looked at her frowning as she looked up at me with tear filled eyes. "Mwumma", she whimpered.
"What's the matter Logan?", I ask quietly.
"Mwumma", she said again, letting a tear slip from her eye. Soon enough, she burst out crying. Clinging onto my shirt as she buried her face In my neck.
The girls looked at me, knowing that she was going to have a bad day today.
Whenever Logan woke up like this, she would be sooky and whiney all day. I grabbed her backpack and made my way to the bathroom where I lay her down on the baby change table as she continued to cry.
I changed her dirty diaper and into a fresh pair of clothes.
I let her keep the pacifier in her mouth, as it was helping her a little bit.
I didn't like these bad days. Sometimes she was OK, and others days, she wasn't.
You see, my little two year old Logan has some sort of disease/sickness. She will have great days where she is as happy as anything and then other days, she is upset, angry, grumpy, bossy, rude, sooky. She told me one day that she felt sick on her bad days, that's why she was diagnosed with the illness.
I'm afraid that one day, the pain will get bad for her and she will get too sick. As a first time mother, I have no clue what to do. That is why I am constantly reading books about the sickness. Luna is a nurse in training, so she knows what will need to happen if anything got too bad.
I lifted Logan and carried her out of the bathroom and back to our seats. I rocked her back and forth gently until she finally calmed down, now leaving only small whimpers to escape her mouth.
I cradled her as she looked up at me whilst sucking on her pacifier. Her big vibrant eyes were easy to get lost in and her soft features and chocolate brown curls make anyone melt.
I pushed a few stray curls from her face, giving me a clear view of my beautiful daughter.
She started complaining that her tummy hurt, so being the mother I am, I agreed to rub it better for her. Logan ended up falling asleep after that.
"Good Morning Passengers, we are now about to land in the beautiful and sunny Los Angeles. Thank you for flying with us, we home you enjoyed your flight", the captain spoke over the speaker, startling Logan awake.
I buckled her into her seat, much to her dismay before buckling myself in as we went down and landed. Logan didn't like the landing. She said that it was scary and that she hated it. I don't know how she is going to cope on our flight to New York. Luckily, that one isn't as long.
We ushered off the plane, as I carried my daughter to the terminal exit. I set her on the ground, taking her hand in mine as she waddled along. I had to walk at a slow pace for my daughter to be able to keep up with me, the girls giggled at Logan's face of awe when she saw the crowds.
I held my child close to my side as her little feet carried her forward.
Our bags were being put into the other plane, ready for our next flight tonight.
We decided that we would just drive around L.A and see what we can do.
We climbed into a taxi, ordering that the guy takes us to the best restaurant in town. We ended up at a lovely place that had really amazing food.
We then got a taxi to take us around the city and places.
We stopped at the beach, knowing that Logan would love it to bits.
Luckily, we had packed our bags prior and had put our swimsuits on under our clothes.
We walked along the path. The smell of the sea salt was amazing.
Logan was running as fast as her little legs would carry her, which was very fast, as she got all excited about being at the beach.
She held onto my shoulders and I helped her out of her shoes before we started walking down the beach.
Logan ran straight to the edge of the water, waiting for it to touch her toes. Once it did, she let out a squeal and ran backwards, "COWLD COWLD!", she giggled loudly, wrapping her arms around my legs and looking out across the ocean.
It was so amazing.
I sat down in the sand with Luna as Maggie stripped off as well as Logan before they held hands and walked towards the water. They stopped and Logan reached up for her aunt.
Maggie hiked her on her hip before proceeding into the water.
"Don't go to far!", I call out, worried for my little girls safety. I know that she is safe with Maggie, but I am always worried.
"Yes mum", Maggie called back, rolling her eyes as Logan giggled at her. She began struggling in Maggie's arms, wanting to be let down.
I shook my head, deciding that it would be best if I went in as well, just for safety.
I slipped out of my clothes, walking into the water and to the pair that were struggling.
"Here baby bear. Come to mummy", I say. Logan reaches out to me and Maggie laughs shaking her head.
I bend down a little, allowing Logan's feet to splash in the water. I watched as she giggled and splashed her aunt repeatedly.
Luna also came in, bringing Logan's floaties. We helped her into them and let her play in the shallow water. Logan loved the beach.
But soon, she grew tired and came and rested in my lap. "Mwumma", she mumbled, putting a few of her fingers in her mouth for an unknown reason.
"Are you tired sweetie?", I ask my child, watching as she nodded, her eyelids drooping slightly. "Okay, well we will go back to the airport now, but we have to get your dressed at the airport, okay?"
She nodded slightly again as I stood up with her in my arms and we grabbed our things and caught a taxi back to the airport where we changed into dry clothes and fixed ourselves up.
We ate some dinner, knowing that they would all complain later that they are hungry. Especially Logan. For a tiny little baby, she really could eat an entire house. She doesn't get that from me. I don't think...
We then sat on the seats, waiting for our flight to be called, Logan was sitting on the ground in front of me, playing with her teddy, mumbling little words to herself that nobody could understand.
After boarding the plane, we sat patiently. Within five minutes of being on board, Logan had fallen asleep because of how tired she was. I snapped a quick picture of her adorable face as she slept so cutely.
I then laid back and dozed off to sleep.
_____________
After our five hour plane ride from L.A to New York, the captain woke us up with his booming voice through the PA system. "Hello ladies and gentlemen, we are now about to land in the beautiful New York, thank you for flying with us"
Logan started stirring in her seat as I gave her a little shake. She sat up just as I took out my camera and took some wonderful shots of the view of New York. The sky was lit up with all the beautiful lights from the buildings and high rises. It really was an amazing view.
"Mwumma home", Logan said happily, clapping her hands together.
"Yes baby, this is home", I say gently, kissing my daughters chubby cheek before snapping a few more pictures. "Home sweet home".
