“We’ve gone about two hours unnoticed. What a load of shit.” Hayes murmured next to me.

“Let’s not jinx anything . . . Where are Rose and Harry?” I asked sipping on the rose champagne the ball had provided all the guests.

“Right over by the- Where the fuck is Rose? And where’s Harry.” My head spun to the direction Hayes was looking at, and in the corner I could see a man signaling at me. Motioning with his hands to come and follow him. A servant, or waiter of some kind.

“Hayes, he’s motioning for us to follow him.” I tell Hayes, and he gets up swiftly and pulls me with him.

“Let’s go follow him.”

A few minutes of following the worker, he meandered through the vast house before stopping and motioning for us to come into a hidden room.

“I am Elias.” He smiles fondly, bowing at our presence.

“Jagger is not a good man, I would assume you as his brother would know that. They are in here, go try and get them out now. I will try and stall. Be careful. Jagger has hawks watching your every move.” He warned before walking back off into the ball.

“I guess you push this through?” I looked up at Hayes before pushing the back of the closet, and opening a little door.

In it hid Harry and Rose, both pacing back and forth as well as muttering profanities on how they would get out.

“Hey! Psst.” I whispered, and their heads snapped.

“How the hell did you get here!” Harry questioned, but Rose shook her head pulling him through the door.

“What he means is thank you. Now lets get the fuck out of here.”

“Run, think later.” I add, walking quickly to the back exit.

“Through here, let’s go.” Harry motioned, stepping out first.

“I told the Limo to wait by the exit, run come on!” Hayes shouted, pulling me through the door, and pushing me towards the limo.

“Finally.” I exhale, opening the door.

“Did you really think you could outrun me? That I wouldn’t know you were at my very own ball?” A deep accented voice echoed behind me, along with a muffled groan.

Swiftly turning on my heel a medium sized man with a deep scar along his jaw, had Harry held tight against his chest with a gun to his temple. My chest felt like a ton of weights got dropped onto it. Hayes immediately pushed me and Rose behind me facing his brother.

“Face your problem Jagger. Don’t bring him into our family grudges.”

“What makes you think killing him won’t solve my problems?”

“Because it’s me you fucking want.” Hayes bellowed, and Jagger hesitated a minute before tossing Harry behind him. Immediately running over to him, Jagger aimed the gun at me.

“Ah. Ah. Ah. I wouldn’t do that, love.” He smiled.

“Now you see Hayes, if I kill her.” He cocked the gun towards me. “I get the company. If I kill him.” He aims the gun at Harry. “I still get the company. So I thought why not kill both.” He chuckled at Harry who pushed himself onto his feet ready to pounce. Before being able to register it in my head, a piercing shot blared in the air, and I let out a scream. My heart began to beat against my ribs, and the pain of what I just witnessed took over.

“NOO!” I shrieked, running to him, but a hand held me back.

“LET ME FUCKING GO.” I kicked, as siren’s blared in the distance.

“Let’s go Lia, come on. You can’t stay, go with Rose.” Hayes yelled, looking back at Jagger. “We’ve got you cornered you filth.” He laughs, and I’m still beating at his chest trying to reach my bleeding beloved.

“He’s dead.” Jagger smiled as Hayes threw me into the car.

“He’s not fucking dead! He’s alive!! Let me out!” I screamed as Rose held me tight against her.

“He killed him. He killed my Harry. He..He.” I started to bawl, falling limp in her arms.

“We’ll be okay. You’ll be okay. Just leave, and never look back. Never.”
