The Fighter (AU/Punk)

Chapter 38

Harry's POV
"Louis," I say sternly and lead him out of the kitchen. He looks at me quizzically before I answer his unspoken question in a harsh whisper. "Do you know why the guest bedroom gun and the hit list are missing?"
His eyes widen as I reveal my recent findings. "Fuck."
"Who the hell could have taken it?" I ask but the answer is clear as day, Sage.
Louis is about to reply when Zayn walks into the room, a troubled expression on his face.
"Harry," he says hesitantly and I cross my arms over my chest.
"What?" I ask bitterly.
"I think we should call the police," he says seriously, keeping eye contact.
"Why the hell would we do that?!" I ask loudly.
"Because they have the resources to find her, and we don't," Zayn explains. "I would rather have Sage safe than revenge on Liam, and if you care about her you would too."
I yank my hands through my curls and turn away from Zayn. He's right, of course. But I hate the thought of having police digging around our personal business. I slam my fist into the wall, punching out a hole.
"Go for it," I say and yank my hand out of the wall, dust billowing out after it.

Sages POV
I sit in the cold chair, my shaking subsided. God I need to get it together. I tap on the chair until I'm calm and focus on the room. There's got to be something in here to help me get out. I scan the brick walls. Well that's not helpful. I grin as an idea pops into my head before focusing on the zip ties restraining me. If only they would have used the rope that was in the trunk, I know how to get out of rope. I lean forward and place my mouth at the tie on my right arm. I bite down and twist it until the tie part is on top, the plastic scraping across my wrist.
I bite my teeth around the small square that's keeping the zip tie in a circle. I yank on it roughly, the plastic scratching against my mouth. I take a deep breath before trying again, it doesn't even give an inch.
Sighing, I lean back. Somehow I'm going to have to convince them to cut them off.
Well I think I can handle that.
"HELLOOOOOO," I shout loudly. "ANYONE OUT THERE?!"
I smile as I hear the door open slowly, the guy who I kicked in the groin looking at me with hatred.
"Keep it down!" He says gruffly.
"I have to pee," I say sassily. It's the oldest trick in the book.
He immediately looks uncomfortable.
"You see, it's not so much that I have to pee as it that I think I just got my period. Or I really have to pee," I ramble, the guy growing increasingly uncomfortable.
"Alright alright," he mumbles and walks towards me. He pulls out a pocket knife and quickly cuts off both of the zip ties around my hands before kneeling down in front of me to undo the ones on my feet. As soon as he cuts off the one on my right foot I kick out, knocking the knife out of his hand. He looks up at me with surprise and I punch him in the face, breaking his nose as well.
"You little bitch," he says but the sound is muffle by his hand as he attempts to hold his smashed nose.
I lunge for the knife across the floor but a beefy hand wraps around my ankle, dragging me back. My leg strains against the bolted down chair as I'm dragged across the cold floor, my tank top riding up. I kick out and hear a satisfying thud, my ankle being released moment later. I crawl towards the knife as the man lays on the floor in pain. Fuck this is far away. I stretch against the zip ties and reach my hand out as far as it can go, the plastic tie cutting into my ankle roughly. My hand makes contact with the hilt of the knife and I roll it towards me until I can pick it up.
With the knife in hand I quickly cut off the last zip tie and turn my attention to my attacker. I don't want to kill another person...
I walk towards him and his eyes widen when he notices the shiny knife clutched in my hand. His hand reaches back behind him but I jump forward and place the indie at his neck before he can retrieve what he was going for.
"Don't even think about it," I mutter and my left hand crawls under his back until it hits the cool metal of a gun. "A knife and a gun? It must be my lucky day," I say and smirk, pulling the gun out.
I place the gun on his temple and true fear shines in his eyes.
"How do I get out of here?" I ask softly and place the knife in my back pocket.
His hand inches forward along the cement ground.
"If you move your hand any closer I will not hesitate to shoot you," I say seriously and press the gun further into his head.
"There's two exits," he stutters, a bead of sweat dripping down his forehead. "Both upstairs."
"Very good," I say with a smile. "Now where are your two friends?"
He gulps, his Adam's apple bobbing out. "Last I knew Liam was in the kitchen and Ralph was sleeping upstairs."
"You've been very helpful," I say and smile, slowly reaching into his front pocket and pulling out a shiny iPhone. I back off of him, keeping the gun trained on his forehead. He sits up as I get to my feet, never once taking my eyes off of him. "I'm a woman of my word," I say and smirk as I back out of the room. "So I'm not going to kill you," I grin and slam the door shut, hearing his shouts as I lock the door from the outside.
It's only a matter of time before he gets Liam or Ralph's attention, which means I'm on a schedule. I check the gun and am extremely pleased to see that it's fully loaded. I turn away from the door as he slams on it and face the dimly lit hallway. A wooden chair sits right outside the steel door to the room I was locked in but that the only thing in the hallway besides a wooden ladder. I walk towards the ladder and take a tentative step on it before quickly climbing to the top. I push open the wooden hatch and peer through a small crack. It looks like a basement. A washer and dryer sit in one corner, exposed pipes line the walls. I push open the hatch further, it feels heavier than it should. I crawl out of the opening and roll onto the cold floor of the basement, looking back at the hatch behind me.
A box sits on top of it, hiding the wooden planks. To my surprise, I can't hear the cries from the man I locked in the room. I take a deep breath and turn to face the basement. Thank god nobody is down here or I would be dead. I clutch the gun in my hands, keeping my finger ready at the trigger just in case Liam or Ralph were to make a surprise appearance. My heart thumps wildly as I survey the room. The stairway leading upstairs looks creaky and old, that wont work. I draw my attention away from it and focus on the two narrow windows set at the top of the wall, looking out at the rainy forest ground.
I move towards them quietly my bare feet padding against the ground softly. I step onto a shelf to look through the window. It's all forest, I could be wandering for hours. Frowning, I look at the contents of the shelf. I pull the cell phone out of my pocket. I have one bar. Maybe I could get some signal outside?
I crawl up the shelf and kneel on the top shelf, feeling it sink slightly under my weight. I open the window. It's gonna be a tight squeeze. I place the phone in my pocket with the knife and keep the gun in my hand as I suck in my breath and slide through the small window. It squishes my chest in and I wince at the pain. This would be so much easier if I had a sports bra on. When my top half is through the window I'm immediately assaulted by the rain. Fantastic. I pull my body the rest of the way through, the only other tight squeeze being around my ass. I roll onto the soaked grass. My once white tank top now stained with green grass and mud. At least ill camouflage into the scenery.
I close the window behind me and get into a crouching position. It looks like I'm around back of the cabin. A dark deck to my right and large windows above me keep my heart pounding. I'm not out of the woods quite yet.
Ha. Get it. Cause I'm in the woods.
Anyways... I slowly creep along the building, keeping my back pressed to the structure, glancing around to make sure the coast is clear. When I reach the corner I peek around it. I can see the road which is my best chance at getting help. I pull the phone out of my pocket and slide around the corner, away from the deck.
I quickly dial and press the unfamiliar phone to my ear.
"Hello?" Daniels voice rings through with question.
"Danny?" I whisper. "It's Violet. I've been kidnapped by Liam Payne and some guys who aren't a part of the gang. My covers been blown."
"I'm tracing the phone now violet," he says.
Thank god Daniel works the early morning shift now. I called his work phone in the hopes that he would be doing paperwork.
"Thanks Danny," I mutter.
"Shit violet this is not good," he mumbles. "We can't get a trace on it."
"Why?" I ask panicked. If they can't trace it that means I'm trapped in these woods.
"The tracking chip has been removed," he curses and calls for his boss. I hear him explain the code red before he comes back on the line. "Tell me what you know about your location."
"In the woods somewhere," I say, glancing around. "They were keeping me in a cabin, two stories plus a basement. I was locked in a hidden room below the basement. It's still raining here but we drove for a while."
"How did you get this phone?" Daniel asks.
"I attacked one of the guys and took his phone, gun, and knife. Then I locked him in the room I was being kept in and escaped through the basement windows."
"Where are you now?" He asks.
"Right by the house," I say lowly.
"Okay Vi," he says and takes a deep breath. "Get into the woods."
I close my eyes before looking around and sprinting away from the house, praying nobody was watching from the windows. I run aimlessly through the forest, the clouds above only offering dim lighting as I sprint away from the house. Water drips down my face, soaking my hair and clothes. Wet leaves stick to the bottom as my feet as I run.
"You still there violet?" Daniel asks.
"Yeah I'm here," I say breathlessly and slow my pace.
"Find a road," he says and I make a left. I had been running straight away from the house. The road is this way.
"Done," I say as the pavement comes into view.
"Now violet you need to flag down a car," he says.
"No shit," I snap and walk alongside the road, waiting for a car to pass.
