Chapter Four
Chapter 4
“WHAT are you doing?” A deep manly voice yelled startling Alexandra who was leaning against her bead on the floor with her laptop resting on her lap. She looked up, rolling her large brown eyes as she watched her overjoyed and overbearing older brother belly-flop onto her bed.
“Can you not,” She continued scrolling through her tumblr dash trying to ignore the big baby on the bed. “Don’t you need to go to work?” Signalling at the clean and crisp uniform he was wearing.
“Yeah… but I thought I would hang with you for 10.”
“No.”
“Whaat! Why not? Are you too cool for you older brother now huh?” He slid of the bed and plopped down next to his younger sister who was preoccupied with the computer. “Huh! Huh? Huh!” He pocked at her hips and tickled her as she squirmed under his arms.
These two outrageous and crazy siblings where Niall’s favourite people in the whole world. He practically grew up with them. It was always so strange that Louis became a police officer, as he was always the one making a mockery. Teachers thought of him as little satan’s helper, and every student wanted to be his friend and they were because he was the friendliest person anybody had ever met. If there was a party nearby – hell it could be a 2 hour drive away. Louis would still be there partying like the world was ending that night.
Louis younger sister Alexandra also known as Alex, was the sweetest and somehow the weirdest child. She had been suspended for standing on her desk and playing air guitar, she didn’t come down when told. When asked why she did it, ‘There was a song in my heart and I had to show it to the world.’ Her heart was so big and full of passion. She was the girl who would have a funeral with dark depressing clothes and a little prayer, over an ant that was stood on by a random person.
“Louis!” Alex called as he marched to the door to leave for work. He looked back at her with his childish grin. “You know Niall?”
“No, I don’t know that person.” He mocked.
Alex rolled her eyes. “Do you know if he is uh…um…” She tried to choose her words carefully. “Do you know if he is seeing anybody at the moment?”
“I don’t think so.”
They both paused in awkward silence. Louis knew his little sister had a crush on his best-friend, but there was no way he was going to tell her that if his friend dare lays a hand on her that he will put him away for ‘attempted murder’ or something like that. Louis is the chief police officer of the town and he could pretty much get away with whatever he wanted.
As Louis got into his car and turned it on; the radio was going off with alarming alerts, in area’s close by.
“Another day in paradise,” He thought to himself, driving off to the office.
When he arrived at the police station he recognised two people sitting at the bench looking distressed while waiting eagerly. The lady was breathing heavily, her eyes filling with tears and the father shaking his legs with his arms wrapped around the lady.
“Mr and Mrs Hill? What can I help you with?”
Mrs Hill looked up, her blue eyes filled with sorrow. “Louis, oh my have you seen her? I’m so worried! It’s been 3 days. I still havn’t heard from her. Louis something’s wrong I can feel it!” She sobbed.
Louis stood, misunderstood. “Who? Mrs Hill?”
“Luanna.” Mr Hill mumbled.
“I um-I havn’t seen her since Friday night.” Louis paused. “Are you sure she’s not with her new boyfriend, um what’s his name.”
“Harry.” A dark haired women said behind Louis.
“Yeah.
“He’s missing too. I’m Harry’s mother, Anne.” She held her hand out to shake.
“Maybe they ran away together?” Louis suggested.
“There not 12 years old.”
“Those two young kids, that got murdered. The boy and the girl. You don’t think this happened to our kids right? Right?” Mrs Hill sobbed. Her usually bright eyes now filled with tears and red raw.
Louis tried to keep calm, walking over to his office signalling his partner Liam to come into the room. Liam followed close behind and closed the door behind him, leaving the two in the medium sized room filled with filling cabinets and sport medals. Liam raised an eyebrow, his chiselled jaw tightening under his hairy stubble. Louis could tell his partner was panicking over the disappearance. Louis was panicking inside himself, how could he not. He went to school with the girl and even had a little crush on her.
Louis stood next to the large window covered with blinds behind his wooden desk, “She’s the spontaneous type, the one to wake up and come up with a brilliant idea of an adventure. Maybe this is it, maybe her and Harry are just going on a little adventure.”

“Shit!” Niall screamed with his thick Irish accent, followed by crashing from pots and pans. Two seconds later he popped out of the kitchen to the lounge room where Luanna was curled up in a ball in the corner of the room. Her cheek coloured purple and black from the hit her attacker had given her.
The look he gave her indicated that he fucked up the cooking again, which was no surprise to the frightened girl. Before he was this scary unknown person, the blonde boy was her best friend and she knew for sure that he couldn’t cook for shit. She slowly unwrapped herself and stumbled up onto her feet, her legs numb. Taking steps towards the kitchen, staying as far away from Niall as possible. He followed her and sat at the little island table in the kitchen.
The windows were covered up, but Luanna could see that it was day time outside. She’s keeping calculation of how many days she has been in this enclosed hell hole, and to her it has been three days. After surviving on pizza for the last three days Niall thought he would cook a proper meal. He hasn’t touched her since the incident. But then again she won’t even let him anywhere near her. 5m radius she whispered to him.
She grabbed the wooden spoon that was resting in the pot on the stove and started stirring the burnt bolognaise. Niall watched behind and imagining himself wrapping his arms around her waist and tickling her neck with the sweet soft touches of his nose. She would turn around with the spoon of the ‘not-so-burnt’ bolognaise and give him a taste before pressing her lips against his and tasting it for herself. Niall would then lift her up onto the bench before ripping of her pantie…
Bang! Niall came back to reality when Luanna slammed the bowl of bolognaise onto the bench in front of him. Like Niall’s knew persona Luanna’s bubbly personality has turned
“Thankyou Lu-Lu,”
Luanna turned and went to go sit down back in her corner, before stopping at the kitchen door. “I’m going to have a shower after this.” Niall nodded and Lua continued to the lounge room.
Lua could barely eat. Her mind was overcrowded with the thought of Harry. She knew he was alive but struggling, because Niall disappears for an half an hour every morning and afternoon. She knew Harry was underground because Niall would head to the back door which leads down to the basement. She knew she had to find him.
After a few mouthfuls of the burnt bolognaise she wobbled back to her feet and placed the bowl in the sink in the kitchen. On her way out she made no eye contact with Niall, she couldn’t even look at him. She struggled up the flight of stairs to the main bathroom. Turning the lever to hot water, before stripping of her dirty clothes that had been left at Niall’s from her last visit. The hot water burned her skin but the pain was soothing her aching bones and muscles. Washing herself clean, her body and brain were tired. She hadn’t stopped shaking since that Saturday morning and her eyes were burning from crying and lack of sleep. She stood under the water for 10 minutes before turning the shower off before wrapping a towel around her.
putting on some clean clothes that were from Niall’s bedroom, a large Oasis tshirt and some sweat pants before slowly making her way down stairs. On the side table of the loungeroom sat a not written from Niall.
‘Gone to the shops for food, love you xx ’
She realised this was the right time to try and find Harry, running to the back of the house to the door that leads to the basement. The door was locked. Looking around in panic, she remembered that Niall’s dad hid the key behind the laundry door because it was his ‘private room’ but really it was just a room filled with a pool table and other boyish stuff. Niall and Luanna used to go in there when his dad wasn’t home. When she came back with the key the door opened and she ran down the stairs into the dark underground shouting Harry’s name.
“Harry! Harry please be here.” Her throat croaked. When she got to the bottom of the stairs there was a light switch which she turned on. The light flickered before turning completely on displaying the very different room from when she was younger.
The pool table was covered in a sheet that was up against the side wall. Spider-webs everywhere and the room that was covered in football and soccer posters now gone, just an empty concrete room. Until Luanna noticed a bookshelf that had a few books on it. Moving closer to it she realised the shelf had all of her favourite books; One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Fault In Our Stars, Wonder, Percy Jackson Series and Where the Wild Things Are. She couldn’t help smile a little. Up until she saw a large crack on the wall peering out the side of the bookshelf on the ride hand side.
With all her might she pushed the bookshelf to reveal and archway open doorway which led to a small dark room with a tiny lit light bulb on the roof. In the middle of the room revealed a large box standing vertically with a lock on it. Luanna was tall and she could see the key on top of the box. Quickly trying to unlock the latch.
The lock fell to the ground and she pulled open the box door to expose Harry who was sitting in the box shaking and praying.
“Harry!” She screamed while pulling him out of the small enclosed area he was trapped in. “Oh thank god! I’m so sorry!” She bent down trying to look into his eyes that were red raw and filled with tears. His lips were tried and covered in dried blood, probably from being continuously beaten up by Niall. He was topless and she cried over the other bruises and cuts. He was cold and still shaking.
“Come on… we have to get out of here.” She whimpered.
“You’re not going anywhere.”
Luanna’s and Harry’s heart stopped.
