Five: You Walked In, Caught My Attention

Okay, now I'm definitely fangirling. But I need to hold it in, I'm at the studio. Sucking a breath, I reread over what he'd tweeted me. '@Harry_Styles: @OfficArieonna I'm sorry love. How bout you follow back? We can chat?'. My heart was literally pounding so hard in my chest I thought it might burst.
Before I had the chance to reply my Mom and Kit walked inside, both smiling, I hadn't seen my Mom since I got back and it's been a whole month. But it's because she was visiting Aunt Gina. I smiled happily, setting my phone down and forgetting about it for a moment and hugged her tightly after she set Kit down. "Hi Momma."
She kissed my forehead, "Hi Babygirl." Over the past three years Mom has become more talkative, mainly because I needed the confidence boost after not getting onto the X Factor. And because Luke, and Jai moved back in, and of course Kit grew older. So she talked more with us now.
"Congrats sissy," Kit said, tugging on the bottom of my shirt, I smiled at her, scooping her up in my arms.
"Thank you KitKat." Kit giggled at my nickname for her and reached out to our Mom, so I handed her off to her. "How're things at Aunt Gina's?" I questioned, sitting in one of the still uncomfortable leather chairs and spinning to the sides a little each second. I was waiting for my co-writer, Austin, to get here to help me with some songs.
My Mom smiled, taking a seat beside me with Kit in her lap, "She loves your voice. It's her new ringtone, for everything, and she'd called me earlier to tell you that the video was amazing. But she didn't like the kiss.." I scrunched my nose up and Kit giggled again, making me smile at her.
I didn't like the kiss. So it was normal that Aunt Gina didn't either. We were alike that way. "Well, I'll make sure to call her and thank her for the compliment. I loved shooting the video! It was so much fun!" I literally squealed, a huge smile taking on my lips.
"I bet you did," Mom replied, sending a small smile my way, "Kit wants to follow in your footsteps and become a big Poptart." I chuckled, knowing Kit must've meant to say 'Popstar' not 'Poptart'. She was too adorable sometimes.
With a nod, I went to respond, but then Austin opened the door and sauntered in. He's only twenty one so he still had a slight teenage act to him. And he was gay, which I think is great. He's dating this guy named Frankie who I still am yet to meet. "Hi Aussie," I call him Aussie because his name is Austin and because he's an Aussie, "this is my Momma, Lucy, and you've already met Kit."
He smiled, extending his hand to my Mom, who shook it with a smile. "Pleasure to meet you Miss Sheckler, I've heard so much about you from Onna, she's so fond of you!" Austin smiled at Kit, and reached into his bag, pulling her out a Sketch Pad. "As I promised, Princess Kit." She smiled, taking the sketch pad and jumped from my Moms lap, running over to one of the small tables in the corner.
I chuckled. "You know you didn't have to get her a Sketch Pad?" My Mom quizzed, standing up to go follow Kit.
Austin just shrugged, sending a kind smile my Moms way, "It's nothing. Thanks to your daughter my paycheck isn't very small anymore." My Mom smiled at him, and I before walking over to Kit and crouching down beside her. I turned back to Austin. "Okay so I was thinking we stick with the love song theme you have going for you, and just go from there. With a nice beat to each song we think of." I nodded.
"Sounds good to me, I actually have been thinking of a song already." His smile grew and he raised a brow at me. "No! This one is not about Nathan." He was the only one I'd told who the song The Way was about. And Nathan and I had a fling way back, before he became famous. I was over him now.
With a roll of my eyes I grabbed my purse, taking out my journal and flipped to a marked page. "It's not about anyone."
"Sure." Was his short reply as he bent over my shoulder and we began to get to work.
"Yet.." I said, mainly to myself, causing Austin to chuckle because he'd heard.

I panted, grabbing my water bottle and taking a big gulp of it before speaking into the microphone at Austin, Lexi, and Faith, "I didn't know it'd be this much work to be a singer!"
"Songwriter, and actress!" Lexi spoke into the small mic Austin had, sending me a girly wink with a chuckle.
I rolled my eyes, "Where should I start from now?" I asked Austin, quirking an eyebrow up.
He looked down at the lyrics we'd finished about an hour ago and studied them carefully before finally picking a spot, "How about we just start from the beginning?" Austin looked up at me and I nodded, then he sued the music. Turning it up to a nice level. I placed the headphones back on over my ears and stepped in front of the microphone again.
The green button lit up and I paid attention to the notes, waiting for the right part. When it came I immediately started singing.
