Just the Beard
|Chapter 10|
"It's not like you didn't already know that they were together." Justin says softly as he slices up Granny Smith apples as a small snack for us.
"I know, but it's just...Something about seeing them kiss. It just...tore something inside of me." I mumble and shake my head at my disappointment.
I hear Justin sigh lightly as he slides a small bowl of sliced apples and caramel over to me. "You'll be fine. Besides, I know a few other guys who'd love to be yours." He says, shrugging.
"Really, who?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.
"I...I don't know...just a few." He murmurs, biting his bottom lip as he scratches awkwardly on his arm.
"None of them are like Harry, Justin."
"But they might even be better!" He defends.
I simply shake my head as I chew on an apple slice. "The only other good guy I know is you." I say. Psh, Justin would never want you. You're only best friends. Yeah, well, shut up conscious.
"You'll be fine." He assures me. "Let's head up to bed." He says, nodding over to the stairs.
Spending the night with Justin was far more better than I think being at home with Harry after that situation would've been.
~
"Morning." Justin offers me a small smile as his bright, mocha brown eyes stare down at me.
"Morning." I grin as I slowly sit up.
"I know you want me to take you home. We could stop and grab some breakfast on the way if you'd like. McDonald's or something." He says and I nod.
Crap. I almost forgot I didn't bring any extra clothes. Oh well. I get up from bed and stretch, bending down and touching my toes. I just felt like doing that. "Well, I'm ready now. I don't really have much to do. I don't have extra clothes." I say.
"Oh, I could've washed those for you. But.." He shrugs as he grabs his keys.
I slip on my shoes and jog downstairs behind him. We make our way outside to his car. I hope no paparazzi see me with him. They'll probably make this big fuss about me cheating on Harry. Even if I did, he probably wouldn't care anyway. He'd break up with me and be happy.
Justin and I stopped by McDonald's on the way back to Harry's house. Soon, he pulls up into the driveway and a small sigh escapes my lips. I'm not ready to face Harry at this moment.
"Thanks." I murmur, looking over at Justin as I pull my seatbelt off.
"No problem." He smile is warm as he leans over and places a kiss to my forehead.
I smile and blow him a kiss, giggles escaping my lips. I get out of the car with the McDonald's bag in my hand. I walk up to the door and ring the doorbell. I glance back to see Justin pulling out of the driveway as the door opens. I look up and see Louis at the door. I literally feel my blood heat up as Louis rushes me in.
Louis closes the door quickly, "Where have you been?" He asks me curiously.
Before I could stop myself, I speak my mind. "Why does it matter to you? I surely wasn't gonna be here when I wouldn't even have Harry to keep me company." I snap.
"Babe, who is it?" I hear Harry's husky voice call from the upstairs.
Louis is almost too shocked by my attitude to reply to Harry. "Your girlfriend!" He calls back sassily.
I soon hear footsteps growing closer and closer and Harry comes into view.
He sighs at Louis before walking over to us. "Hey," He says, reaching for my arm.
I jerk my arm away before walking past them both, intentions just to lay on my bed.

"What the hell is going on with her?" Louis furrows his eyebrows as he looks at me, blue eyes piercing into mine.
"I don't know," I answer honestly. "Maybe she isn't feeling well." I say, biting my bottom lip.
"Whatever it is, she needs to get over it. She's gonna piss me off one day, Harry. And you wont wanna see that side of me." He says, voice firm.
"Please, love. I've seen every side of you that I need to see. Go." I say, pushing him gently toward the door.
He turns around and hesitantly pecks my lips before walking out of the house. Now, I've got some things to figure out...
