Madelyn's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~`

I stepped out of the passenger door as Louis ran inside the lobby. I turned around to grab my purse and found that Eleanor was giving me a piercing look. I ignored it and met Louis inside.

I slowly unlocked the door. I was a bit nervous. I mean I don't want to tell my best friend since 3rd grade that I just HAVE to stop seeing him. We just saw each other for the first time in 4 years and his girlfriend wanted to separate us. She couldn't have thought I would steal him. I mean I don't li-
I realized I couldn't say that. I mean, I can't. I just can't. Do I like Lo- No. No I don't. I just- He- Well- He is my bestie. My homie. Haha.

"Hey Lou?" I opened the door. "Hmm?" He hummed. "I... Hmph... Well.... Louis I." I trailed off. "What is it?" He asked worried. "I just..... Louis this can't happen again." I said. I can't believe I'm surrendering my self. But if I don't she might beat me up. That's what everyone else did if I didn't do what they said. I was like a soldier. I go by every command or there is going to be a consequence. "Love, what do you mean?" He grabbed my shoulder. I missed Louis calling me love.

"I uh- I have to work everyday for 2 months. I only got today off because you came into town. So I won't have any time." I lied straight through my teeth hoping it was believable.

Hey, I haven't seen him in 4 years. I'm pretty used to being by myself as I cry myself to sleep every night. "No! Maddy! This was supposed to be our time! Where we got reunited!" He tried to make a point. I sighed. "I know Lou, but I just work 6:30 to 9:30 every night. For the next 4 months." I said. "I thought you said 2?" He said confused. "It's 4." I lied. "But..... When can we hang out again? Can't you quit?" He pleaded. "Louis, look around!" I threw my arms. "That job is all I have." I tried to persuade him. He took this into deep thought. "I can help. I have money! Please, Maddy! It's been so long!" He begged. "Lou, you're sweet but I can't possible do that." I said. He gently grasped my hands and held them in his and stared into my eyes. "Yes you ca-" I snatched my hand away. "Lou, no! Stop it! Stop trying to help! You'll only make it worse!" I yelled tears threatening to spill. A look of hurt flashed through his eyes that soon turned to anger.

"Fine! If you wanna live in this dump then go ahead! Push me away! You're not going to get any better!" He shouted in my face. I let out a loud squeak and covered my mouth. Tears were flooding my eyes. He just studied me and walked away. Out of my apartment. My dump apartment. I fell to my knees as he slammed the door closed. I ran to the small bathroom and grabbed my razor. I tried to grab the razor but it slipped from my wet hands that I used to wipe my tears. Instead of the razor staying steadily in my fingers it slipped and fell onto my neck and slid down my chest. Letting the blood gush out. I screamed in pain as I tried to wipe it away with my towel which only blood stained it.

I had no band aids which wouldn't have fixed the huge slit anyway so I just put pressure on it with my cardigan. The blood slowly stopped after about 30 minutes. I felt a bit light headed but I was fine. As I stopped to look in the mirror, I found that the slit was just a straight line going all the way down into my chest and stopped under my shirt. I would need to buy a whole bunch of concealer, considering I had none. I went to lay down on the couch. Which by the way was the only thing I had to lay on. My eyes fluttered closed just as my phone rang. "Ugh." I grunted. I looked at the screen name, expecting it to be my boss to tell me I had to come into work again but it wasn't. It was my ex boyfriend....... Nathan.
