Crossing Paths
Chapter 1
Juliet`s POV:
Tired I opened my eyes, just to be glared by the bright sun light that shone through my window on my bed.
First day back to school. Ugh.
I sat up exhausted and looked at my clock next to my bed. 6:30, way to early to get up at all. I rolled out of bed and tapped over to my wardrobe, pulling out some warm clothes, since it was the first day after autumn holidays and it was already freazing cold outside.
The smell of coffee made me go downstairs to grab some breakfast before school. I walked through the big hallway into the kitchen, where my mum were already waiting.
“Good morning, sweetheart”, she greeted me and gave me a kiss on my cheek. I sat down at the huge table and started to put cream cheese on my roll.
“Where`s dad?”, I asked with my mouth filled.
“Already at work. The chancellery called earlier, asking if he could come over”, she answered, while she was already getting on her coat to head out to her own work at the local hospital.
“Zayn`s picking you up?”
“Mmmmhh..”, I replied focused on the news in TV.
“I have to go”, she said, “have a good first day. Text me to tell, where you want to have dinner tonight.”
I nodded and she kissed me on my cheek one more time and with that she was gone. After I ended my breakfast, I brushed my teeth and picked up my bag from my room, before I got out of the door.
The cold made me shiver and I tightened my scarf around my neck, before I walked down the long driveway.
I waited for 5 minutes, before I saw the familiar car coming up the street.
“Good morning Ms. Wyler. Where can I get you?”, Zayn joked as I jumped in.
“To school my personal chauffeur, please”, I replied laughing at him for treating me like the Queen herself.
“It will be my pleasure”, he said and turned up the radio. First day of school, here we come!
Lily`s POV:
I woke up like always 5:30 in the morning and the first thing I did was putting on my sweatpants and a t-shirt.
It was quiet, so I sneaked out to not wake up my mum. The first thing I noticed were the red leaves on the street, which told me that autumn was nearly over.
While starting my daily jogging tour I thought about the upcoming winter. Of course there are beautiful things about this season, but I couldn`t see them.
In winter I couldn`t get my mum out of the house, even when the doctor said that it would be important for her, so I had to take care of all the things on my own.
There were other things I had to concentrate on like going to a new school, after I was kicked out of my old one.
Even though I had a job at a restaurant, which took my time for hours in the evening I wasn`t allowed to stay away from school. The bad thing was that I couldn`t get enough money.
Mum told me to contact my father, because he would help us out with that, but I didn`t wanted to beg for money.
He was the last one I wanted to ask since he never cared about us.
After I got home, I took a shower and I left for school, so I got in my old car and started to drive. It was only for less than a year, so I just had to get through this, but I knew that it wouldn`t be that easy.
Life was never fair, that was the first thing I have learned in my life.
