By Her Side
Chapter 3
Niall's POV:
I woke up in the morning and Clara was still holding onto me. I looked down at her and smiled. I kissed the top of her head and slipped out of bed. I went downstairs to make Clara and I breakfast. As I was cooking pancakes I got a text message from my other best friend Samantha. *Hey ni-ni! Do you think you could hang out today?* I smiled and texted her back. *Yeah. As long as your okay with Clara being here?* *Of course! I love that girl!* *Alright be over at 12.* I smiled and put my phone away. Soon I heard someone walking into the kitchen. I looked over and saw Clara. "Hey." I said smiling at her. She waved at me and sat down at the kitchen island. "You hungry?" I asked putting the last pancake on the plate. She shook her head yes and I gave her, her pancakes. "Thank you." She said tiredly. "Samantha is coming over later. Is that okay?" I asked her. "Yeah, I like Sam." She said cutting her pancakes. I smiled at her and ate with her.
Once she was done I took her plate and put it in the dishwasher. "What do you want to do?" I asked her. "I don't know." She shrugged still very tired. I laughed a little at her and brought her over to the couch. "Disney movies?" I asked holding up her favorites. She shook her head yes and I put in Beauty and The Beast. I sat down next to her and wrapped my arm around her pulling her closer to me. "Niall why are you cuddling me a lot now?" She asked pulling away. This was a good time to tell her. I should just come clean and tell her how I feel. "Well.... Clara I just.... I've had a crush on you for a few years now..." I said stuttering the whole time. I saw her face light up and a huge smile come across her face. "I've had a crush on you too." She said back smiling. I grabbed her around her waist and pulled her close to me. "I've wanted to do this for so long." I said before kissing her sweetly. She kissed me back and sat in my lap.
Clara's POV:
Finally after years I'm kissing the boy I love. I sat in his lap and he pulled me closer. I pulled away and looked at him. "Your beautiful." He said putting his forehead to mine. Just as I was about to respond the front door got kicked open. "Clara where the hell are you?!" I heard my dad yell. I looked back at Niall and felt tears starting to build. "Don't worry sweetie I'll protect you." He said and kissed me again. My dad came into the living room and Niall got off the couch. "What were you doing to my daughter all night?!" He yelled. "I was protecting her from you." Niall said stepping forward. "She doesn't need to be protected she's fine at home!" My dad yelled pushing Niall. "No dad stop!" I yelled stepping in front of Niall. "Baby stay behind me." Niall said grabbing my hand. I shook my head no and step towards my dad. "Your coming home." He said grabbing my arm tightly and dragging me away.
Once he got home with me he threw me on the ground. "Why where you over there?!" He yelled. "Niall just wanted to help me." I said as he kicked and punched. He beat me for a little more and then left the house. I grabbed my phone and sat against the couch. I got to Niall's contact and called. "Baby where are you are you okay?" He asked sounding panic. "I'm at my house can you come get me?" I asked. "Sure baby I'll be right over." He said and hung up. Soon Niall came into my living room. "Baby are you okay?" He asked sitting next to me. "Yeah." I said and hugged him. He hugged me back tightly and kissed me. "Can you go pack some stuff for me?" I asked and he went upstairs and got my stuff. When we got back to his house Samantha was sitting on the couch and his mum and dad were in the kitchen. "Do you need anything hun?" His mum asked. "Can I stay here please?" I asked quietly. His mum and dad looked at each other for a second. "Yes you can dear." His dad said to me. Niall set me down and I hugged and thanked his parents.
