I woke the next morning with a pounding headache and not much memory of the night before. I rolled over and slammed my hand down on my alarm clock to stop the annoying beeping before slowly pushing myself out of bed and heading towards my bathroom. The whole time I kept promising myself that I would never again drink so much when I had to start work at 9am the next day.

I eventually made my way to my car and headed to the cafe where I met with Olivia and Lacy, the two girls working with me today.

“Late night?” Lacy asked me as she started to set turn all the electronics on as Olivia got the tables ready. I merely grumbled in response as I immediately started to make myself a cup of coffee, one of the perks of working in a cafe.They both merely laughed knowing I wasn’t a morning person whether I had a hangover or not.

Eventually the customers started to pour in and it wasn’t long before Casey came in around lunch signalling my shift was just about over. I lifted my head about to serve the couple in front of me before leaving and I was met with two familiar faces. It was Danielle and Eleanor.

“Hey,” Danielle said politely while Eleanor slightly waved.

“Hey, were you guys after something?” I asked back politely not exactly sure what to say.

“Umm yeah, well actually the boys had stuff to do today and because this is both of our first times in Brisbane we didn’t really know where to go so we thought we would come here, because we remembered where it was and well we don’t have any friends here.” Eleanor rambled on awkwardly.

There was another awkward silence, which was really starting to annoy me, I really hated awkward silences. So I did the only polite thing I could think of.

“I’ve just finished my shift, we could hang out if you want?” I offered with a smile, not really sure if it was the right thing to do. Instantly both of their faces went into relieved smiles as they both quickly nodded their heads and assured me they would love to.

“I’ll just grab my stuff and be right out,” I quickly said and ran out the back and into Casey who still looked hungover from the night before, despite it being midday.

“I’m off, I’m going to be hanging out with Danielle and Eleanor.” I told Casey as I grabbed my bag.

“Who?’

“You know the girlfriends of Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson from the boy band One Direction,” I explained quickly to her with a laugh and ran back out the front and walked out the door with the two British girls before Casey could react. I knew I would be harassed the moment I got home.

“So what would you girls like to do?” I asked as I headed to my car with them following.

“Well were kind of hungry?” Danielle said politely from the backseat. I smiled knowing the perfect place and started the car. Instantly I blushed before turning down my music which was currently blasting I want by One Direction.

“I love this song,” Eleanor laughed loudly before turning the music right back and singing along loudly with Danielle joining in with her. I sat there shocked for a moment before deciding to go with it and joined in and quickly pulled out into the usual Brisbane traffic.

After a couple more One Direction song I eventually pulled into a car park and we got out of the car at boardwalk that wound around the river with cafes, shops and markets lined the walkways.

“This place is so cute,” Danielle exclaimed coming to stand next to me. I laughed and led them over to a cute little restaurant Casey, Paige and I always go to. We ordered our meals and sat down outside enjoying the view.

“So how do you girls like Australia?” I asked wanting to break the silence
“It’s really pretty,” Danielle responded, “I love how warm it is.”

“Well it is actually coming into winter now, so it won’t be warm much longer.” I said slightly depressed. I absolutely hated the cold.

“I have to say, you’re really cool and laid back about all of this. I mean it took all morning for me and Danielle to decide to go back to the cafe and we weren’t even sure if you would be working! We weren’t even sure if you might turn out to be a crazy One Direction fan!” Eleanor said causing me to laugh.

“Oh I think the music in the car proved that I’m a pretty hardcore fan, I just know how to hide it really well.” I replied making the girls laugh as our food arrived. The rest of the time we sat there and talked getting to know each other. I found out they were both at College and I told them that I was at University getting a degree in Dance and Business. Danielle and I both bonded especially over the fact that we both loved to dance. We talked for what felt like hours and not once did we mention One Direction, we just chatted and I honestly started too really like these girls.

“Oh, Liam just text me and said there back at the hotel and finished for the day.” Danielle said reading from her phone.

“I’ll drop you guys back at the hotel,” I offered. We all quickly jumped back in the car and blasted the music as Eleanor directed me to the hotel. I pulled up in front.

“Thanks so much for today Skye, it was heaps of fun,” Danielle said getting out of the car.

“Just let me know anytime you want to do it again,” I replied with a smile. Eleanor quickly grabbed my phone and entered in her number and then texted herself.

“Text you later and we can do something again. Bye!” she said already halfway out of the car as I laughed and drove off back home.

The moment I walked into the door Casey jumped on me, literally. She was currently sitting on my stomach Indian style in the middle of the hallway.

“Explain!” she demanded glaring down at me.

“PAIGE!” I screamed wanting to find help somewhere.

“Explain!” Paige repeated Casey, standing above us with her arms crossed against her chest.

“I told you guys, One Direction came into the cafe yesterday afternoon, but no, you guys just didn’t want to believe me,” I said before hitting Casey with my bag until she rolled off. I stood up and made my way into the kitchen with the other two following.

“Well of course we didn’t believe you!” Paige defended.

“But now that we do, did you kiss Louis?” Casey asked

“NO!”

“Oh good he’s mine, but what about Harry, he’s your crush!” I blushed instantly.

“No there was no kissing at all, and Louis has a girlfriend Casey!” I chastised her as I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and sat on a stool by the counter.

“And I have a boyfriend, what’s your point?” she asked innocently.

“Anyway,” Paige intervened. “Why were they there?”

I sighed before explaining everything that happened yesterday and today. We all sat there in shocked silence for a minute before we all squealed at the same time. None of us could hold it in anymore as we all stood up and danced around the house to the music that was playing. It was something we always did, there was music constantly playing at our house and we loved to dance especially when we were excited.

I was just settling into bed when I heard my phone beep. I reached over to grab it and saw I had a new message from Eleanor

Hey, are you doing anything tomorrow? Me and Dani are being left along again and we really don’t want to be bored.

From: Skyeee
Hey =) I’m supposed to be shopping with some friends tomorrow but you and Danielle can join us if you want to?

From: El =)
We would love to! What’s your address and the boys will drop us off there in the morning before their interview!!

I smiled and texted Eleanor all the details and then said goodnight. I was definitely looking forward to tomorrow; these girls seemed like a lot of fun.
