Loving Him
Chapter 15
Clarence's POV
The days that ensued were utter bliss. Harry and I spent most of our time together, in between my work and his concerts. It was amazing. We mostly stayed indoors, as to avoid paparazzi. Watching movies and talking and cooking and hanging around with the rest of the band. Most of the guys were quite good with me now, Louis was my favourite though - always cracking jokes and such. He seemed to genuinely like me. Liam was standoffish but Harry told me that was relating to something more personal. I didn't ask what he meant by that.
It was crazy though. I'd never suddenly spent so much time with one person. The more time I spent with him, the more I liked him. The only thing I was confused about was our actual relationship status. We hadn't really spoken about it and I didn't want to bring it up to ruin anything between us. I was happy and so was he and that's all that mattered.
We were hanging out at his hotel, my legs entwined with his when he got another phone call. It was short but pushy from what I could hear, the whole thing being over in several minutes. Over the time I'd spent with him, he'd been getting quite a few of these. Not ever mentioning who they were from or what they were about.
After this call was over, he looked me dead in the eye and smiled, "We have a date tonight."
I couldn't help grinning. He was adorable.
"What, where, when and what do I wear?" I beamed.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door and Lily entered, "We're going shopping!!!"
Lily's POV
I would genuinely have to be tactical about this. I moved between business, bargaining the prices they were offering off each other. This was very important.
First time I was going to see Clarence this week - my best friend - was to buy her an outfit with Harry's money for their date.
This was simply insulting.
Harry's POV
This was the biggest thing I'd done. Pulling this off would be amazing. I'm the kind of guy who likes intimate but elaborate affairs and this had both components.
Like our first date, I kept Clarence in the dark and gave Lily the task of helping purchase a ballgown and other essentials for the night. For the past week I've been planning a Masquerade ball. The boys thought I was crazy, but to me it was warranted because I was crazy about Clarence. I liked being unpredictable. Plus, the boys could bring their girls along and family etc. This would be our last time with them for almost a year as we launch our new tour.
The tour. Clarence. One year is a really long time. Oh well that's not to think about now. I pull on my sleek black jacket and run my sweaty hands through my hair. Here goes.
I walked down to the large hall that the hotel had. They'd agreed to hold this event. This morning, the room had been a pile of tables and chairs, with a microphone lying on the stage. Now, it was booming. There was a band singing already, with only about ten people here - all of whom were dressed beautifully and dancing. Tables lined the edge of the room, holding piles of finger food, enough to feed an army. This was impressive.
Within seconds, more and more people were arriving, filling up the dance floor and digging into the food. Zayn came up to me, barely recognisable behind his mask, and told me how good this was. I was glad they were enjoying themselves but I just wanted Clarence.
And then, as if on queue, a beautiful blonde girl with thin shoulders and a smile that could only be hers entered. She looked beautiful.
Behind her was Lily with a smug smile. I looked back to Clarence and watched her survey the room in awe, smiling widely as she did.
It was when her eyes met with mine, hidden behind the mask, that her smile dropped.
