Abused

Rachel's P.O.V.

The rest of the day was spent laying around the house, recovering from our hangovers.

Thankfully no one mentioned the kiss again, though I did feel extremely awkward getting into bed that night with Niall.

It was obvious he felt awkward too because instead of slinging an arm around me like he normally did, he stayed on the opposite side of the bed, back facing me.

I wasn't used to this. I liked the feeling of his arm around me. It made me feel safe. And after everything that had happened with Brad, I needed that security.

It took me a lot longer than usual to fall asleep and when I eventually did, I wished I hadn't.


The darkness was taking over me.
I tried opening my eyes to escape it but I couldn't.
There was suddenly a grasp on my shoulder and felt myself being pulled, out of the darkness.
"Niall?" I mumbled hopefully, the darkness fading.
As it got brighter the figure became more evident until I could eventually see him clearly.
I gasped when realisation hit me.
"Did you honestly think you cold escape me that easy?" his voice came out amused.
"Brad?" My voice came out as barely a whisper.
His grip became tighter on my shoulder as I tried my best to wriggle out of it.
"NIALL!"
I began screaming for him at the top of my lungs.
I needed him.
"Niall!"
Brad gave a low chuckle.
"Don't you see? He's not coming! He doesn't care about you! He never did" he spat.
I continued screaming Nialls name.
"No one can hear you!" Brad insisted.
I felt him continue to pull me guiding me to a door.
He opened the door in front of me pushing me through.
I scanned the place quickly - realising it was the place Brad and I had shared.
He slammed the door shut behind him and began making his way towards me.
I backed up quickly and tried one more time.
"NIALL!"


My eyes snapped open.

I was sitting up in the bed, my breathing heavy.

"You okay?" Niall asked softly, rubbing my back comfortingly.

I didn't respond.

I put my hand up to my face and was disappointed to find tears. I had been crying.

Before I had a chance to feel embarrassed, Nialls bedroom door flung open.

"What the hell's happening here?"

Louis was at the door of the room with a baseball bat, Chealsea right behind him.

I buried my face into Nialls chest, still sniffling.

"She had a nightmare" he told Louis, wrapping an arm around me tightly.

"A nightmare?" Chelsea sounded very annoyed.

"Yes, a nightmare. She's been through a lot" Niall defended me quickly.

"C'mon Chels.. Let's just go back to bed" I heard Louis mumble.

Niall continued rubbing my back gently.

"What did you dream about? You kept shouting my name" he told me softly.

I pulled my face out of his chest.

"I'm so sorry for waking you" I whispered, mortified.

"Shh, don't be silly. I don't mind at all" he replied, running his hand through my hair.

I was shaking slightly. I knew it was ridiculous to be getting so upset over a dream, but I couldn't help it. It had really scared me.

He pulled me closer, laying back down so that I was now lying on his chest, his arms still wrapped around me loosely.

I couldn't get back to sleep for over an hour, but Niall made sure to keep me entertained. He talked to me about anything and everything. Then he began singing to me. He sang All I Want - Kodaline, She Looks So Perfect -5SOS, and Last First Kiss.

Eventually I drifted off, feeling safe and warm in his arms.
