“So you remember nothing?” Zayn asked.
“Nothing” Niall agreed.
You have got to be kidding me.

Rachel's P.O.V.

I felt tears prick my eyes instantly and I wasn't fully sure why.

Of course Niall couldn't remember. It had meant nothing to him at all.

Me admitting how I felt about him and him kissing me.

I couldn't remember much of what happened after that but that was the important part, right?

"Rach?" Niall pulled me out of my daze.

I blinked quickly and swallowed, trying to get rid of the lump in my throat.

"What's wrong?" he asked looking concerned.

"She's got a pretty bad hangover" Zayn interjected quickly.

"Tell me about it" Niall muttered.

His arm was still slung around my shoulder but I pulled out of his grip easily.

"I gotta go" I whispered, standing up quickly, taking off.

I rushed straight upstairs and locked myself into the bathroom.

I was an idiot for thinking there was even a slight chance that Niall felt the same way about me.

He only kissed me because he was drunk.

Once I locked the bathroom door, I slid down to the floor, resting my chin on my knees.

After about thirty seconds I just burst out crying.

I wasn't even fully sure why I was crying. I guess I really just needed to let it all out.

I don't know how long I sat there crying. I hadn't even realised how loud I was until I heard footsteps running towards the door. I froze as someone knocked loudly.

"Rachel! What's going on?"

Of course it was Niall.

I sniffed as quietly as I could manage before responding.

"Nothing" I mumbled.

Wow, great one. Really convincing.

"You've been in there for ages Rach. I just heard you crying. Please let me in" he asked softly.

"Niall, I'm fine. Go away" I mumbled again, trying to keep my voice as clear as possible.

I heard him sigh loudly and then heard his footsteps wander off.

I buried my face in my knees. No longer crying. Just sulking I guess.

Another knock on the door made me sigh but this time it wasn't Niall.

"Rachel? It's Madi and Allie. Zatn filled us in on what happened. Can you let us in?" It was Madi who spoke.

I thought it over for a minute before standing up to let them in.

I opened the door quickly and they both shuffled in.

"Oh Rach!" Allie frowned when she saw my tear-stained face.

I closed the door behind them, making sure to lock it and then sat back down on the floor.

Madi instantly grabbed a face cloth from the small shelves and wet it.

She sat down in the floor next to me, handing me the cloth.

I began wiping my face with it to rid me of the tear stains.

Minutes passed before Allie spoke.

"Did you guys.. You know..?" she trailed off awkwardly.

"Have sex?" I finished for her.

She nodded.

"No.." I replied confidently.

"So what happened after he kissed you?" Madi asked.

I shrugged.

"I dont remember much after he kissed me. We took a cab back here I think.. I dont know, I can only remember bits" I replied honestly.

"Mmh.." Allie mumbled.

I sighed loudly.

"Guys, I really wanted things to go well last night. I wanted him to finally see me as more than a friend" I whispered.

"Maybe you should just tell him how you feel.. I mean it seemed to work out last night" Madi suggested.

"Last night we were both drunk" I replied.

"No, I think she's right. What if he does feel the same? It'd be great" Allie agreed.

"Well what if he doesn't? It would ruin everything. Id never be able to look him in the eye again. It would just be so awkward.." I trailed off.

We continued on about it for a while until they eventually gave up. There was no way I could tell Niall. And they knew they couldn't change my mind.

"Well come on Rach, Nialls got to be freaking out at this point. He sent us up to see why you were crying" Allie announced after a while.

The others headed off to get coffee while I went back to Nialls room and got dressed.

I threw on trakkies and began looking through the wardrobe for another one of Nialls oversized t-shirts.

I found one with some random symbol on the front and examined it carefully.

"This'll do" I muttered.

I pulled off the t-shirt I was wearing since it was covered in tears now, leaving me in my black bra.

I looked down, scanning ny stomach. There was still a faint purple mark. It wasn't surprising considering Brad hit me the hardest on my stomach.

I ran my hand along the mark softly.

I felt myself flinch as the door opened.

"Oh shit, sorry Rach"

It was Niall. Of course it had to be Niall. Then again this was his room..

I pulled the t-shirt over my head quickly as he walked into the room.

He didn't say anything at first, he just pulled me into a hug.

I hugged him back tightly. I couldn't help but breathe in deeply, taking in his scent.

When we parted slightly, he kissed my forehead softly.

"Are you okay now?" he asked quietly.

I nodded quickly.

"Why were you so upset in the first place?" he continued.

I really didn't want to answer the question so I buried my face in his chest.

He sighed, knowing I wasn't going to tell him. He began rubbing circles in my back gently.

"Did I do something to upset you?" he tried again.

Yes. He had. He had kissed me and completely forgotten about it.

But I couldn't tell him that.

"No, 'course not" I mumbled into his chest.

I was almost sure he knew I was lying.

When we parted I saw something that I knew would cheer me up.

"Niall?" I asked slowly.

"Yeeeees?" he replied in a sing-song voice.

"Can you play me a song?" I indicated to the guitar in the corner of the room.

"Of course" he answered softly, seeming somewhat surprised.

I sat down on the bed easily and within seconds he was next to me, guitar on his knee.

He didnt even ask what song I wanted.

He began to play Fix You by Coldplay.

As he sang I couldn't help but think back to the first time he had ever sang to me.

We were five years old and we were having a sleepover.

His eyes were locked with mine and the intensity almost made me shiver.

He had sang for me numerous times before but this time was different.

Each word felt like it was directly for me. I started to feel like the song was about us.

He never dropped my gaze, even when the song came to an end.

"...And I will try to fix you"

I can't believe it took so long for me to update :o
Its a pretty long chapter though, right?
I think it is cause it took me ages to write it :p
I know its not the best but I enjoyed writing it so I really hope you liked reading it :D
