Niall's P.O.V.

We ate in silence. I sensed the awkwardness. And I was guessing Rachel felt awkward too, knowing I never really liked Brad. He seemed too possessive of her. And I couldn't help but get the feeling that she wasn't completely happy with him.

I wasn't really sure if I should bring it up because I didn't want to argue with her, but I felt the need to look out for her. As soon as Brad was finished eating he got dressed and left.

"So what do you want to do today Rach?" I asked, breaking the silence. She shrugged. "I don't really mind, whatever you want" she replied, smiling sweetly. I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face. When Rachel smiled, it was hard not to smile too.

"Me and the lads have a house outside the city, we could go hang out there for a while" I suggested. Rachel got along with the boys very well. She was the sort of person who always cheered people up. Though lately it seemed she was the one who needed cheering up.

She agreed eagerly and we decided to leave straight away.

Rachel's P.O.V.

His car was outside so he was driving.

"So how have you been?" he asked, as he started the car. "You know how I've been, we talk almost every day" I replied. He rolled his eyes. "Its not the same.." He muttered. Then he asked a question that made my stomach turn. "Hows things with Brad?"

"Umm... Things are going great with us.. Why?" I asked. He shrugged. "Just making sure, you know I want you to be happy Rach" he replied. Despite how uneasy I was, I felt myself smile. I found it adorable how Niall looked out for me.

"Thanks Ni" I smiled.

Niall was the only person in my life who always managed to make me smile. No matter how bad things got with Brad.
