Zayn's P.O.V.

I paced back and forth in front of the couch.

I felt every eye in the room on me.

"Man, seriously whats going on?" Niall asked, obviously confused.

What was I gonna do now?

"Nothing, Nothing.. Just give me a minute" I mumbled, pulling my phone out of my pocket and making my way outside.

I quickly dialled Rachel's number.

Please pick up.

Please pick up...


Rachel's P.O.V.

"Trouble in paradise?"

I didn't reply. I just stared at him, unsure of what to do.

"Why didn't you come home last night?" he asked, folding his arms across his chest.

"I-I fell asleep-" I started to explain, but he cut me off.

"At Neil's?" He asked, mockingly.

I gritted my teeth.

"His name is Niall" I muttered.

Brad knew his name. He called him Neil sometimes to annoy me.

Brad's eyes narrowed.

"You've been spending a lot of time with him lately" he continued.

"He's my best friend Brad. Of course I'm going to spend time with him" I replied.

"Best friend? That's all?!" his voice got slightly louder.

I sighed.

"Yes Brad, just my best friend!" I yelled.

I was sick of this conversation.

The same conversation over and over.

"How dare you?!"

Before I knew what was happening I was being pulled to my feet by Brad.

"How dare you shout at me like that?!" he spat, shaking me slightly.

Tears built up in my eyes.

"I'm sorry, I just-" I was cut off by him pushing me away from him, forcefully.

I hit the door with a loud thud.

Brad picked his keys up off of the counter and pulled on his jacket.

"Where are you going?" I asked softly.

"Out" he replied harshly, pushing past me to open the door.

He slammed the door behind him, which made me jump slightly.

I didn't have much time to think about what had happened because my phone started ringing almost instantly.

I pulled it out of my pocket.

Zayn.

"Hello?"

"Rachel! What the hell?! Why did you go home? I told you I would figure something out, didn't I?"

"Relax Zayn, I'm fine"

"Is he around?" he asked.

"No, he just went out" I replied.

"Why did you go home?" he asked softly.

"I couldn't avoid it forever" I told him, sitting down on the floor again.

"Rachel, Niall really needs to know about this" he told me gently.

"I know but Zayn, I really can't tell him..."

My heart sank when I heard Niall's voice in the background.

'Niall really needs to know about what?'

"Mate what are you doing out here?" Zayn asked back calmly.

'I came to check where you went.. You seemed really freaked out there' he replied 'Is that Rachel?'

"Yeah, you wanna talk to her?" Zayn asked hesitantly.

There was a minute of silence.

I guess Zayn must've covered the mouthpiece.

When he spoke next he sounded confused.

"Niall went back inside..." he told me.

"Yeah, we kinda had a bit of an argument" I mumbled.

"About what?" he asked.

"Brad" I whispered.

Zayn sighed.

"Right.. Well why don't you hang out with your girlfriends today instead?" he suggested.

"Yeah.. That's a good idea" I mumbled.

"Okay Rach I'm gonna go now. Don't worry about Niall, I'll have a word with him" he told me.

"Thanks Zayn" I replied.

"If you need anything at all ring me. I mean it" he told me seriously.

"Okay, thank you"

"Your welcome"

"Bye Zayn"

"Bye"
