Fix His Collar
Chapter Two
Once those words fled him mouth he gripped my hips, showing my front into his. I gasped, moving my arms up to push myself away from him but he beat me in strength. I still didn't stop trying. Then an idea hit me, and I went for it. I brought my knee up and slammed it into his groin, as he grunted in pain and curled over, I jumped and ran, not the way I'd come from but even further deep into the woods.
Which wasn't my brightest idea.
When I was about fifty yards away I could hear the leaves crunching under his feet as he tried to catch up to me. So I took a look, he was gaining on me, quickly. I turned my head back and focused on running. Taking occasional glances at each side of me when I saw something I could try.
There was a small trail just up ahead, but the naked eye probably could barely see it and that would be good. It was hidden behind a group of overly cluttered bushes that I could duck behind. Nodding to myself and taking another glance back at the guy to see he hadn't caught up that much and most likely, and hopefully, wouldn't be able to see me. I turned my head back just as I was close enough and jumped, sliding down onto my knees and ducking under the bushes.
My breathing was heavy, which I can understand, I must have been running for maybe twenty minutes at most. I tried to calm it down as much as I could, taking silent deep breaths, and closing my eyes, keeping myself perched where I was.
That was when his footsteps became clearer, and he'd slowed down. Shit, shit, shit, what if he saw me jump over here?!, I silently cursed myself for being so naive and closed my eyes tightly, burying myself into the cold forest floor. When his footsteps were close enough, I could hear his breathing was steady, like he didn't even get a work.
Where was this guy from?!
I opened my eyes, peaking up at the sky to see the sun was just starting to shift down. I took in another silent deep breath and held it, listening for his footsteps to leave another way. But they didn't, they just got closer, and then they just stopped. I made sure to wait a few minutes before I looked over the edge base of the bushes. He was standing there, with his back to me. His back muscles were flexing and I can't lie, it was a nice sight. As he started to slowly turn I ducked back down, ruffling the leaves and making a little sound.
I closed my eyes tightly again, praying in my head that he hadn't heard anything. I was proven wrong when he took slow, striding footsteps near where I was. My eyes shot up and I took another deep breath, pulling my knees as close as possible to make me as small as could be.
"Alice.." I heard his deep, husky british tone ring out through my ears. He had a silky curve to it and I knew he was trying to lure me out. He knew I was here, shit! I almost faced palmed but had to hold in the urge so he wouldn't have more confirmation. Maybe he'd think it was a squirrel or something and would just leave. Leave me alone, leave the town, leave the city, leave the state, hey, maybe he could leave the country? America needs more creeps like this.
"Come on out, love, I won't harm you." Bullshit!, I thought in my head and continued taking small, silent deep breaths. Those were really the only things keeping me calm right now, to be honest. "Alice, baby," did he just really? Oh no he didn't. I glared at nothing in front of me, imagining I was glaring at the person who wanted to kidnap me. He's not allowed to call me baby!
I was so lost in thoughts I didn't notice when someone's arm came down and pulled me up forcefully by my right elbow. I winced, meeting the green orbs of the guy and screamed. His only free hand came up and clumped over my mouth, him making a hush sound with his. "Hush baby, it's alright," I kept screaming into his hand, fresh and silent tears streaking down my face, "Relax baby, I don't bite that hard."
What?! He doesn't bite that hard?! That just made more tears streak down my face, as my eyes became red and puffy and I began to quiver. I was scared and not to mention the night was falling and it was getting extremely cold. Curseid Holmes Chapel weather. I forgot about that for a moment when he yanked me into his, surprisingly, extremely warm chest, almost immediately melting down the freezing weather outside.
"Come on baby," he whispered into my hair and scooped me up in his arms. My vocal cords hurt even though they were only used for screaming. I found myself getting dizzy and went up to clutch my head when he grabbed both my wrists in one hand, and he began to walk. Even though I know I shouldn't have, as soon as he released my wrists and sleep was well coming over me I cuddled into his warm chest, not caring that he had to move his arm straight under my butt to do so, and closed my eyes.
Right before I was completely consumed by darkness I whispered into his warm, tan skin, that was almost covered completely in ink, "I shouldn't be giving up so.. so easily.." All the guy did was laugh at me, his chest vibrating with the movement. His last words before I fell away completely somehow warmed my inside,
"You'll love it eventually, because you're mine."
