What Goes Around Comes Back Around

Chapter Three

Heidi POV

After a long day of exploring my new home and unpacking, I decided I needed to look around the area a bit more. But first, I needed a long hot shower to rinse away all of the sweatiness from the flight here. I ran up to my room and grabbed some clothes before making my way over to the bathroom. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I didn’t even recognise the girl staring back at me. I had bags under my eyes and my skin was clammy and shiny. Even my hair was all over the place and tine strands were poking out in all different directions. Overall I looked disgusting. I can’t believe I let that guy talk to me while I looked like this. I sighed and turned on the shower before stripping down and hopping in.

The warm water cascaded down my back loosening all of the knots after the hard work of unpacking. I felt fully relaxed and a whole lot cleaner already. I quickly squirted some shampoo and conditioner onto my hands and massaged it into my scalp before rinsing it off. I did the same with my body wash before turning off the tap and grabbing a towel. I quickly dried myself before getting dressed. Once I was happy with my appearance, I grabbed my keys and made my way outside.

Since I didn’t have a car, I had to walk to the nearest town which was about a 15 minute walk but I didn’t mind. This gave me a chance to look around better. The sun was shining down brightly making my brown locks glow with life. I felt like I was in one of those cheesy movies as I walked but I couldn’t care less. I felt free.

I passed numerous houses as I walked. Each one of them looked dull and lifeless. Why would Harry and Christa live in such a depressing area? Maybe they were part of a gang? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Actually, this town looked deserted. Where was everyone? The only person I had seen here so far was Louis. There wasn’t even a single car on the road. I started to feel more and more uncomfortable as I walked. I shook my head. I was probably just being paranoid.

After about 10 minutes of walking, I started noticing a few shops and cafes and a few more people which made me breathe a sigh of relief. My excitement bubbled when I noticed a Starbucks. I literally ran towards it. I missed it so much even though it had been like 3 days since I last went. I heave open the door as it was a little stiff and made my way inside the building of deliciousness. I instantly inhaled the familiar bitter smell of coffee as it tingled my nostrils.

However, as soon as I looked around the store, I noticed people staring at me giving me confused looks. Some even gave me glares. I started to feel a little self-conscious. I shifted a little as the uncomfortable feeling came back. The old me would probably have ran out of the store by now due to embarrassment but now I just sucked it all up and carried on. I did notice however that everyone in here looked very intimidating. All of them had tattoos just like Louis and most of them had a variety of different piercings. When I looked back at myself it hit me. They probably thought I was some stuck up rich kid. I rolled my eyes before making my way over to the counter.

After receiving multiple glares and looks, I finally received my usual order of my caramel latte with whipped cream. I made my way over to the only available seat left in the far corner meaning I had to walk through a crowd of tables. As I made my way, it felt like everyone was watching me like hawks. You know that feeling in your stomach you get just before going on a stage or if you’re about to present something in front of a load of people? Yeah, that was the feeling I had at the moment.

I carefully sat down avoiding all of the glares I was still receiving, was it that uncommon for a person like me to turn up in a place like this. Then I remember what Louis had told me. Maybe he was implying that this place was too dangerous for me? Oh well! I didn’t move here for the place, I moved here for the people living in that place. I took a small sip from my steaming hot coffee. It warmed up my insides instantly.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. My eyes widened with realisation. I knew where I had heard that comment that Louis had said earlier! I mentally face palmed myself. Of course he knew Harry.

While I was processing this information, I heard footsteps coming up from behind me. I quickly shifted my gaze from my coffee to the mysterious stranger walking towards me. However, when I looked up, I was met with those same emerald green eyes that I had not seen in two years. The same eyes that I used to fantasize about in the day and have nightmares about in the night.

Harry.

I almost didn’t recognise him if it weren’t for his piercing emerald eyes and his bouncy, chestnut curls. He now had tattoos all over his arms as well as an eyebrow piercing, a lip piercing and numerous ear piercings. Now he just looked even more intimidating than before. However I kept my cool. This was the guy who had ruined all of my days at high school and kept invading my thoughts and not in a good way. I had completely lost all of my love for him once I had moved. So now it would make my job here a lot easier as I did not have feelings for him anymore.

He stood towering over me glancing all over my body before meeting my eyes and licking his plump lips.
“Hey there beautiful. What’s your name?” He asked while biting his lip. Was he flirting with me? Wow I guess there was still some of the old Harry inside. And he didn’t recognise me which was a bonus. I decided to play along but not before teasing him first. This was all part of my plan.

“And why would you like to know that?” I ask teasingly while raining my eyebrow. He smirked at my response. He leant down so he was millimetres from my ear.

“Playing hard to get are we?” He whispered seductively in my ear. It took all of my strength to not just punch the living shit out of him but I kept my cool. I smirk back at him in return. I lean in close to his ear as he did with mine.

“I think you’re going to have to catch me first bad boy” I whisper just as seductively. He chuckled at this even though I did not know what was amusing about the situation. I just wanted to get a bucket and throw up. This was so unlike me to just start flirting like this.

“You can count on that babe.” He replied while winking. Satisfied with his answer, I slowly got up, not breaking eye contact with him, as I made my way out. I could feel his eyes trailing over my backside and I had to refrain from going back up to him and slapping him across the face for being so disrespectful.

As soon as I got outside, I let go of a deep breath. My plan went better than expected. Now all I had to do was lure him into my trap and then break his heart, if he even had one that is. I will ruin his pride and I will make him regret ever abusing me again.
