maisy's pov
it was just another normal day at school. lessons boring as usual and nothing interesting happening. as the final bell rang me and my best friend lily made our way back to my house as she was sleeping there tonight
when we arrived we went straight up to my room and turned the TV on just as the presenter was warning the citizens of Cheshire that there was going to be an attack tonight and that he advised us to stay inside with the doors locked and lights off... me and lily both sat in silence as we let the news sink in.
"I need to ring my mum" lily says as I turn the volume up " I need to make sure she's okay,"
I do the same by running downstairs to my mum who is sitting on the sofa drinking coffee.
"stay indoors tonight girls," mum says as i turn into the room " i don't want anything to happen to you, me and your father will sort things out down here, you and lily stay upstairs where you will be safe"
"okay mum" i reply before darting back up the stairs to find lily sitting on my bed waiting for me. we both just chat until it starts to get dark and then we change into our onesies which we bought as a joke last christmas, mine a rabbit one and lilies a pig.
