Challenges In Our Marriage

MEL POV

Mel first thought was to call James and find out if he had seen her ring in her hotel room, but in the last hour or so James calls goes straight to his voicemail. Then she realised that she had to call the hotel, but the hotel manager told her that the penthouse that she was staying at belong to James and also that he left for New York but he would send a staff member to search the rooms properly and that he would call her back.

Mel couldn’t think of anything but the anger that she felt towards herself and Harry. She doesn’t want him to think that she was leaving him or taking away their children. But the thought of Harry taking away the kids from her was unbearable or the thought of being a part-time mum to her children unpleasant.

If there is one thing she had learned about her husband if that he would do anything in his power to secure and protect his children because he doesn’t want to abandon his children like his father. Harry from the start wasn’t a fan of children because of his own pain of missing out on having a father. She had watched him build a father-daughter relationship with Aria and when she was pregnant with Eddie, Harry had always being there and there was no way he would want to play the role of a part-time dad to both their children.
During her pregnancy, Mel was terrified about being a first time mum with the constantly morning sickness.

They were both sitting down by the toilet after Mel had her third morning sickness during their vacation. Harry patted her knee. “I’m going to be this child’s and Aria father. I won’t abandon what mine and I won’t abandon you or our children. You have my word.” Harry word that day had eased her mind because after their one-night stand during their contract marriage that was when she starts getting the morning sickness. But Harry just made her one promise and she would like to think that it still stand if she didn’t lose her ring.
She thoughts were interrupted by her phone ring, when she checked the caller it was James, finally she whispered before answering the call.

Hey
James: Hello Mrs Styles this is James secretary.
Mel was confused about why James would allow his secretary to call her instead of him.
Mel: yeah this is she.
James secretary: Well Mr Windsor wouldn’t be able to answer your calls but he wants you to know that his would call after his business meeting.
Mel: Yeah sure and thanks for calling, she said before she hung up. Great now she has to wait for hours before he calls her. But she doesn’t have hours to wait she wants to fix this and fix her marriage before everything get out of hand. But right now she needs help and there is only one person that could help her and that her sister Lillian, who was currently in New York for her clothing line.

Harry POV

Harry was in his office after his confrontation with Mel...Rose.He just doesn’t feel comfortable calling her Rose after what she did. He trusted her, he opened up to her because he loved her and now she had thrown that all way. He felt sick to the stomach after her told her about walking away like he would ever do that. He wasn’t a quitter and he wasn’t going to start being one now that he has a family to fight for.

He loves his wife so much that why she betrayal hurt so much because it was the last thing he would expect from his wife.
But he was cut short by his phone and the caller was Robert, just the man that he was hoping to talk to.
Robert: I got your call and I want to understand why you want to reactivate that contract?
Harry: Because I want to be able to control the situation that I am about to face.
Robert: What situation are you talking about?
Harry: Just draw the contract and we would talk more.
Robert: Does she know about this?
Harry: She would survive, just draw the contract and the rest would follow.
Robert: Okay
Harry: Huh Robert just let this be between the two of us okay.
Robert: Sure
Harry: Thanks,” he said before he hung up and came face-to face with his sister Gwen and the look on her face say that she is not happy about the conversation that she just heard.

“Well hello big sis,” he said trying hard to erase the anger and hurt from his expression that is cause by his wife.
“Well hello to you too, trying to cause trouble again? Because your children are out with Lucy and your wife is...well let say heartbroken. Please don’t say anything because she had explained herself and she felt terrible about the situation.”
“And I’m guessing you support her?”

“Harry I’m not here to tell you how to run your life but I would try to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life. Forget about you and Mel but think about your children because they need you both.”
“It just hurt, Gwen. I can’t go in there and try to make it work when I’m hurting this bad.”
“Okay and I’m pretty sure that you now known that I’m dating Liam and I have a daughter.”
Harry almost drop the glass of wine that he was holding, and if Rose seen that he had been drinking this early she would be mad dead set mad. But that wasn’t his problem but his sister has a daughter.
“What?”

“You heard me the first time, I have a daughter that why I’m no longer causing trouble or always out because that little girl, Skyler had changed my life completely and I’m happy.”
“I don’t know what to say but I’m happy for you and Liam.”
“And I learn that from you, I just don’t want you to waste all that way because she left her ring in a hotel. You have the duplicated one in your safe because you knew something like this would happen. Just give her back her ring.”

“But how did you...?”
“I knew because you my brother always have a backup plan for everything.”
Harry couldn’t help but laugh and nodded his head before heading to their room to face his wife.
Harry walked into their room and Mel was on the phone, he quickly made his way to their closet where he kept the copy of her wedding ring.He couldn’t help but eardrop on Rose conversation with the person on the phone.
“Lillian, I know that you’re in New York and James is there I need you to ask him about my ring, Please.”

He keeps on listening to the conversation but Rose was silent till he heard her thanking Lillian. He walked into their room and came face to face with his wife red blood shot eyes from all the crying. He rushed toward her and pulled her to a hug and he was surprised that Rose didn’t push him away.
“I’m so sorry, Rose.”
“Just shut up and let me enjoy moment and you just called me Rose,” said Rose.
Harry couldn’t help but laugh and for the first time since his wife walked into their private plane without her wedding ring he was able to laugh a happy laugh because his wife wasn’t furious at his behaviour.

“So you’re not mad?”
“No because Gwen helped me realised that part of this is my fault. I’m so sorry Harry for leaving my ring in that hotel.”
“Hey it okay, yes I’m annoyed but that doesn’t mean that I’m would have the gut to walk out on our family. This family means the world to me and without you or the kids my life is empty without no meaning.”
“I know what why I didn’t focus much on it.”
“Well I have the spare copy of your wedding ring so you can use it till you find the original copy,” he said.

“Thank you so much, Harry.”
“You’re welcome and please can you freshen up and have lunch because I don’t want the kids to see you like this.”
“Okay excuse while I quickly change into something nice and comfortable,” she said as she walked toward the bathroom.
“Rose I love you and so about my behaviour toward you.”
“I love you too Harry Styles.”
