Just The Little Things
Chapter 2
"Let's see what you're going to eat for breakfast cutie" I say poking Darcy.
She starts giggling loudly which makes me laugh. She was so cute when she woke up. She was never a grumpy baby when she would wake up, she was always smiling and laughing. I kiss her forehead while looking for baby food in the cupboard. Of course there was no food left, just my luck.
"Crap, I was meant to go shopping for food yesterday. I totally forgot, let's go to the shops and eat something there princess." I smile at Darcy.
I put her down to let her play with her toys she loved. I rushed to the bathroom and quickly did my hair and makeup. I go back downstairs where Darcy was and pick her up.
"Let's go and get you ready" I smile.
I dress her in her favorite outfit which is pink leggings and a princess shirt. She would always fuss if she didn't have a princess shirt on. She was one smart baby, she knew if she didn't have one on.
I put Darcy in her car seat and buckle her in. I start the car and drive to the mall. We were in the food court when I notice Harry's mum Anne. I try and look down so she didn't notice it was me, but I failed really bad. She noticed me and started to walk up to Darcy and I.
"I haven't seen you in so long Nat, how have you been doing? Who's this little cutie?" Anne asks me smiling.
I haven't told anyone close to Harry that he had a kid, I'm not sure if I want to yet. I feel so guilty not telling Anne, she's Harry's mum. I have to know that she won't tell Harry, I don't want him to know he has a kid. Well not yet anyway.
"I've been good actually, I've finished my studies so I've just been looking after this little monkey here." I say and tickle Darcy.
I forgot to say, yes I am a teen mum. Well I'm 19 so I got pregnant with Darcy when I was 18.
"That's good darling. Is Darcy your daughter?" Anne asks with a confused look.
"Yeah she is." I say before grabbing my sushi and taking a bite.
"I didn't know you had a daughter, she's very cute. She looks a bit like Harry. Who's the father?" She asks and sits down while playing with Darcy's hand.
Shit, she noticed. I don't know what to say to her. What do I do. I'm panicking. Do I tell her to truth? Why is this so hard, why did I come here in the first place. Right, for food. I'll tell her. Just do it Nat.
"It's uh.. Um Harry's." I say looking down.
"What? Does Harry know?" She asks.
"No he doesn't, he broke up with me before I could even tell him I was pregnant with his child." I look down while tears spill out of my eyes.
I should have just told him after he broke up with me, then this wouldn't be happening. But if I did my life would be so different, and I love my life just how it is right now. Me and Darcy no one else.
"You should tell him" She urges me.
"I don't know, what if he takes her away from me? What if he doesn't want her in his life? I'm just scared Anne." I say letting a few more tears spill.
"He's not like that darling, he will do anything for this little girl here. It's his daughter, he has a right to know doesn't he?" She says and holds my hand to reassure me that nothing bad will happen.
I'm just not sure if I can handle him in mine and Darcy's life at the moment. I don't know how he will react to the whole situation. Will he want her in his life, or will he just leave again and not want anything to do with her. It is his child and he does deserve to know, but he's going to scream at me. He's going to yell, saying 'Why didn't you tell me this before' blah blah blah and so on.
"I'll tell him in one condition, you have to be there when I tell him. He will react differently when you're around. You're his mother and he knows not to yell at me when you're around." I say and look her in the eyes.
"I'm sure he will understand Nat, if he doesn't want anything to do with her then that's his fault. I want to be in her life as her grandmother, if that is okay with you." She asks with pleading eyes.
"Yeah, I want her to have her father in her life, I'm just not sure that I want him in her life as of yet." I say.
"I understand you Nat, I really do. He's at home right now if you want to come and tell him today?" She says.
I nod, not being able to let any words come out.
ANNE'S HOUSE
I look around and everything is the same. The furniture, photos and even their bedrooms. I walk over to Harry's room and knock. I wait a few second before his door opens. His face is blank.
"What are you doing here Nat? I haven't seen you in ages." He says while hugging me.
I am here to tell you that you have a daughter that is one. Nah that's so straight forward.
"I'm actually here to tell and show you something." I say and walk into the living room where Anne and Robin is with Darcy.
He gives me a slight nod and follows behind closely. I'm freaking out, hyperventilating.
"When you broke up with me, I was going to tell you that I was pregnant with your child. Her names Darcy, I knew you liked that name so I named her Darcy. I knew eventually you were going to meet her just not this soon." I say before I start having a panic attack.
My breathing is getting heavy, my eye lids closing on me.
