Broken Homes and Broken Hearts
Chapter 4
*Serenity's POV*
"I cannot believe that just happened!" I said to Roxy as we were pulling out of Sonic.
"Tell me about it... But I think Kingston's upset," said Roxy.
"Who even cares? He'll get over it. He should be happy for us. We just met Harry and Niall!" I reassured her.
"Whatever, Serenity." Roxy rolled her eyes and looked out of the passenger's side window.
"What's stuck up your ass?" I asked.
"Serenity, don't start with me right now. I know it's exciting that we're going to boot camp next week. It's a once in a life time opportunity. But who says we'll make it through? We may not ever see Niall and Harry again in our lives. We can't get too cocky about it. Plus, you need to hold on to the ones who care about you."
"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked.
"It means that you're lucky to have someone like Kingston so close to you! You just met Niall, and now it's like your in love with him. You need to keep Kingston around as long as possible. He's loyal, sweet, and funny," Roxy said to me.
"Well if you like him so much then why don't you date him?"
"Because he likes you, Serenity! Do you not she that? That kid has been there for you through thick and thin. He will never leave your side. You call him, he's there."
"Whatever," I mumbled. I didn't know what else to say. She was right. Kingston is everything I've ever wanted in a guy, but so is Niall. I mean, I know I just met him but the way he looked at me made me shiver. I have no clue what to do. I hate it when Roxy's right. I'm always so in denial when it comes to guys who like me. I try to friend zone them and lie to myself. Tell myself that they don't like me. But Rox is always right there to tell me what I've purposely kept locked in the back of my mind, hoping that it'd just disappear.
*Roxy's POV*
Whatever?! That's all she has to say? She has that poor kid wrapped around her finger and she doesn't even know it. He would treat her so good and make her feel loved. I wish she'd just see that. But no, the only time she decides to be an idiot is now. When it matters the most. So typical of her. I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut from now on and let her decide on what she wants to do. She's a big girl and she doesn't need my help. I just wish she would at least appreciate Kingston. He isn't like any other guy I've ever met. He's not like Jake or any of my past boyfriends. I only date them all to feel something for a short amount of time, but it always goes away. Nobody will ever love me. I can't even love myself. I'm completely pathetic, but at least I know a good guy when I see one.
I started to open my car door once we got to the hotel that we were staying at. We decided to stay there since we only had a week until boot camp started. When we finally got up to the counter the lady nicely greeted us and told us where our rooms were. I replied with a thank you, and headed to the elevator. When we stepped inside I quickly pushed the number ten and waited for the doors to open. When they did, there were two big guys with black shirts and head pieces on standing in front of the doorway. The one on the right began to talk.
"Nobody is allowed on this floor, Miss."
"Our key cards say that our room is on this floor," I held the card up for him to see. He squinted his eyes and examined it.
"Well there must be a mistake. You'll have to go ask for another room on a different floor," he said firmly.
"I'm sorry but there was only one room left for us to check into, and our parents wouldn't too happy if they had to come and pay for us to stay in another hotel. Why can't we be up here anyways?" Serenity asked. At this point I was holding down the "open" button so that the door wouldn't close.
"The whole floor is reserved by some very important people," The guy on the left finally spoke up.
"There's no way that this whole floor is taken up," I said, getting annoyed.
"No, but there are two celebrities who don't wanna be bothered by screaming girls like you two."
Just as Serenity and I looked at each other, thinking the same thing, two figures appeared behind the two bodyguards.
"I thought we told you guys not to refer to us as celebrities," the one with the dark, curly hair said in a raspy voice. "And what's the problem here?" Niall tapped Harry's shoulder as he realized who we were. Harry's green eyes widened in shock, and then a huge grin spread across his face.
"Well there must have been some kind of mistake. These girls somehow got a room on the same floor as you, and they claim that they have nowhere else to go," one of the guards said.
"Let them up," Niall told him.
"But, Sir-" he was cut off by Niall.
"I said let them up, Teddy!"
Serenity and I laughed at the man's name. So did Harry. The man then rolled his eyes and moved so that Serenity and I could exit the elevator.
"So are you two following us or something?" asked Niall as they walked us to our rooms, which happened to be two doors down from there's.
"Well, to be fair, we were at Sonic first," Serenity replied to him. He just replied with a laugh. When we got to our room Harry spoke up.
"When you girls get done packing, you should come over to our room."
"We'd love to," I said to him. Then he smiled and they both walked away to there room.
When we walked inside and started to unpack I said something to Serenity for the first time since we'd argued.
"Sorry about earlier, Boo. I just wanted you to realize that Kingston is a great guy, but you don't have to rush into anything you're not ready for."
"It's alright, Rox. I shouldn't have had an attitude about it. You're completely right, and you helped me realize that I do have feelings for Kingston. But then again there's Niall, and just his smile brightens my whole day."
"Friends?" I asked
"Always," she replied. "Now let's go hang out with two fifths of One Directon."
"I cannot believe that just happened!" I said to Roxy as we were pulling out of Sonic.
