Empty Shells
Chapter 6
“Ari wait up! I don’t have long legs like you do for fucks sake” Theo yelled running towards me from behind.
“Language mister language” I advised starting to run and leaping to the next building rooftop.
“Says you, you swear wayyyy to much than I do” he accused swinging his leg and attempting to trip me over.
“Don’t get too cocky kid I have the capability of pushing you off the building” I argued giving him a death stare. He shrugged obviously knowing that I wasn’t going to push him off the building rooftop and tried tripping me over again.
“I could just hug you with this coat on and then I can push you off the building. What do you say?” I said coming forward to him with my arms spread wide. He backed away and shook his head.
“Nah I’m cool” he shrugged flipping me off and running ahead of me, leaping off the edge of the building to the other rooftop. He stuck his tongue out and continued leaping off rooftops.
“Show off” I muttered trying to get ahead of him before he reached the hotels rooftop. Once I started running it was a competition, a race to get to the hotel first.
“What’s the prize?” he wheezed staying in the lead by five centimetres. “The prize can be the first one to bathe, how does that sound?” I huffed finally being in the lead and looked back at him with a grin.
“Don’t give me that sly grin of yours” he yelled running faster than before “You know how much I hate that grin of yours”
“Well this grin seems to be the soul pleasure of pissing the shit out of you, it will haunt you for eternity” I said in a deep voice wiggling my fingers slightly over my head. He laughed and stumbled, almost tripping over, and quickly regaining his balance, he leapt off another building.
“Two more rooftops left! You really think you can beat me and win that shower?” I provoked pointing at the rooftop of the hotel. He scowled.
“I’m still trying to understand how we have learnt to jump from buildings like this I mean, it’s like we are monkeys or something” he exclaimed throwing his hands in the air.
I ignored him, one more…one more till I am finally there. Screams filled the air. I looked back. What was that? I looked at Theo; he definitely heard the screams as well. Multiple screaming. I slowed down and kicked my heels into the ground before running back to Theo.
“Was that-” “Screaming yeah I think so” he cut me off before the intense screaming started again. He ran in the direction of the sound. The hotel. There aren’t survivors…are there? I rubbed my temple and followed him. Looks like we have more mouths to feed.

HiiiiiSorry I haven't updated in a while (so mean aren't I) and this is a short chapter (which is worse) but I have my yearly exams really soon soooo I am studying (sorta...) and giving you this short chapter and if I have time (feel the love) I'll update before my exams and stuff :D I"ll update quite a few after my exams as well sooo feel special :P
